I'm the best at buying. However I'm also the WORST at selling :) I'm more of a hoarder 😂
I feel that 😂
So true
Great content, appreciate the tips. Keep up the awesome work, thank you.
Some great advise here on how to look for deals too...
Great video as always Ty!
Great advice 👍 I buy for the Private Collection or to give to friends and colleagues. I rarely buy for a quick flip.
Thanks for this.. just subscribed 🎉
Discipline to sell at the right time, i struggle with this so much!!
Big thx for your awesome page it helps me a lot and will a bit save me ;) - Awesome Software - Will grate too on beckett for sure and i need too this great card stands...
Best video yet! Thank you T-pot!
Glad you liked it!
1980 Nolan Ryan graded 10 sold for22k Ozzie Smith same. I have those cards and to me they look no different than the 22k card then you go to E Bay and see the same cards for 5 or 10$ also look fine. Kind of deflating.
That sucks. Did you hold the Harper for preseason hype cycle?
I stopped buying short term flip cards.. I buy PC cards and long term flips
Serious question, as in I really want to know... what time frame do you consider a long-term flip?
My biggest mistake ever was starting 😪. Regerts
Agreed. What was just a fan collecting cards has turned into a competitive, costly and time consuming mania.
FACT 💯.....best comment in this thread!
Many months ago, I submitted some feedback to eBay suggesting to automate the item description based on those detailed inputs we complete as a seller
Goldin seems lower in sells but actually when you add in the buyers fee it equals ebay sell comps
That includes the buyer's premium. It's the fully loaded price.
eBay fees are crazy.Almost impossible to make money.
I've been selling this last year on Ebay and want to start 2024 under a proper LLC. I already attend card shows and setup a table. My collection is a little over 300,000 cards, been collecting since I was kid. Grading wise, I have about 13,000 cards that are or worthy for grading.
I'm in a similar boat. Been collecting off and on since the 80's. Sometimes I wouldn't buy cards for a few years but... For some reason grading wasn't a big deal back then. At least for me and those around me. It wasn't until a couple years ago that I realized grading is a great way to increase profit. It makes sense. Way easier to sell a card with a grade than not. We all see raw cards differently and the grade takes out all the difference. G/L moving forward on your endeavors
I'm 43 and mine and my brothers collection was stolen from pur home when we were about 11 or 12 . We had so many rookies of all kinds and it makes me sick to think about that ! My son who will be 14 this month got me back into cards through pokemon and had played yugioh when it first came out . He reeled me in with a card he brought home and we sold it on ebay . I then took $200 and let him take half of his card money and we ended up pulling the alt art charizard from Brilliant stars and the pull luck and all has gone from there and I have just recently 2 months ago hot back into sports cards
I also collect and sell coins and currency and for those who don't know cgc is also ngc in the coins world
5 things you can do to make me money lol nice sales video
I just got a Scoot Henderson Origins Tessellated for $5.50 (estimated price is $40-$45?). The put Origins "Choice" because the design looks similar but there is no such thing lol.
Why or how does a price alert expire? Is it only active for a limited time?
Once it 'fires' it expires. And it can be reactivated if someone wants it to reset.
We just inherited a box of over 300 baseball cards and we have limited knowledge on what to do with them. We would appreciate any information on how to go about selling these cards. Thank You for your time.
Think the ja morant young dolph card will spike again?
T POTT the teacher. Thanks for the info
I like to see ebay add code number in the specifics listing. I see so many people getting the SP variant wrong & many thinking there card are a SSP this causing to much headache.
People will say anything to sell a card on eBay, if you're dumb enough to buy an SSP that's only an SP or any of the equivalent that's your own fault a fool in this money are soon parted
I'm still wrapping my head around the SP versus SSP variants. Where do you look to find this designation per card? Don't look on checklist that come inside hobby boxes because I can't afford to rip boxes anymore. Don't know what price guide to even go to, I've been out of the game for a while and I'm still trying to catch up since coming back in, which I greatly regret. Everything has gotten to be so much more work as opposed to 20 years ago.
The biggest question I have is, where's the line drawn? >500 SP print run versus
I got a huge stack of joe burrow psa 10 rookie cards, just waiting for the perfect time to sell them all
I'm trying to use the code dive and it's not showing any discount. Any suggestions?

good video T-Pott
I only collect vintage for the hobby. I have never spent more than a $100 for a card. I have no interest being a part of the scam
What scam are you referring to? Is somehow spending the most $100 on a card morally superior than spending more?
@@brucesprung6431 I am disciplined and enjoy the hobby by staying on budget. One scam is buying a hobby box for hundreds of dollars to then opening packs to find nothing in value for what you paid for.
Good stuff! GO RANGERS
Such a bummer about the Harper sale! Sounds like eBay’s list similar is the problem and they owe you money 😀 All good things to know. eBay finally stopped charging for setting up times to start listing which is nice but it was also only ten cents before I think 😀 My favs are eBay 1/1 😀 Thanks Brother for sharing!
I have a huge collection of cards. I have a lot of unopened sets, graded, autos etc.. I want to sell everything. I live in ohio, and I'm looking for a good auction seller. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
Same here, knowing how or where to sell without getting screwed. I’m wanting to sell my childhood collection from the 70’s early 80’s.Seems to be those big money cards PSA graded then you go on E Bay and that same card is 5 or 10$. Kind of deflating. I just want to sell them all and be done with it. Not giving them away after saving them for over 40 plus years.
Pick a popular card show that isn’t too far from you and ask what the price is to setup a table. Then let people know there that you’re willing to move the lot, or just price everything aggressively and require a minimum spend or total amount of cards per purchase. Could also go to a card dealer and just take pictures of your collection and have an inventory and approach them to see if they’ll buy inventory. Expect a 50% haircut offer though
I just started collecting and i want to own a shop when i get older. Im 11. Whats your best advice for me

if the value was going to drop so hard if they lost, isn't it a bit dangerous to finish at that time because the buyer can wait a day and then not pay?
That is actually a very fair call out. Yes, there is that risk...which is frustrating. eBay is starting to implement autopay which will hopefully help.
Good tips....but perhaps the best tip would be to proof read your ad prior to posting. yes the software would be able to do it but in the end it's your fault not theirs
What's your role at eBay? 😂 (it's true...it's ultimately my fault)
14:00 this is how eBay lists cards in their vault, its really awkward and people have to call ebay to change the description.
Unfortunately I have experienced that as well. They have taken steps to allow users to submit edits, which is a step in the right direction at least :/
im pretty lucky im straight downtown in my city i deal at my personnal appartment
Friday and Saturday are terrible days to end auctions
Exactly! Too much comp. Weeknights best.
With the Bryce Harper, I would think putting “Phillies” in the title would be the error
Definitely getting to greedy I have a Brock Purdy turn of the century auto /49 I saw others sell for 2k and I thought the niners were headed to the super bowl and I was trying to max out
Lets gooo T-Pot!!!
I disagree about auction end dates. For me, weeknights are best. Weekends, you are competing with too many eyeballs.
Ebay fees is worth it when selling cause you get billion more eyes than anyone else
And you pay for it, literally
beats not being able to sell it
You only have 1 listing from what I can tell. And you don’t use that format. You also use an emoji in the Alvarez listing which isn’t good for the algorithm
I just got that ja csrd out of a $20 pack of csrds
Oh nice, a long form advertisement
They showed how their product can add value to any collector, but also gave out SEVERAL tips for free that collectors can apply whether or not they buy the software. Cheer up scrooge!
Missing the window happens and money is missed..need to be a quick learner
I’m in the market movers, discord community it’s amazing. Great deals in the fire sale.
So pretty much just make a video again to promote more ways to try to use your own app. OK got it. Haha
This channel is called the Market Movers channel. You're surprised we promote Market Movers? 🤔😂
Certainly a strange phenomenon that we spend countless hours every week developing a software application and would DARE to try to market it...the audacity!
@@MarketMovers just funny you could make videos about the app instead of trying drop it in for your top mistakes video lol. Here are 5 ways to use your market movers app when listing should be the title.

trading card market is highly illiquid and it is getting worse. the saturation of "limited edition" signed cards every time the athlete does anything of interest is destroying the scarcity factor. the hobby is totally in the hands of the manufacturers and the card collector is being goaded into terrible "investments."
A lot of cards are great investments right now if you can buy and hold. Just like any investment there are great times to buy and great times to sell.
If it took any of you that are somewhat serious about cards a lot of time to figure this out I’m sorry…..
Thankfully I'm sharing it with others so that they hopefully won't make these mistakes.
Tip #1, don't take advice from Geoff Wilson.
is this guy doing the video Geoff?

Seriously, seriously, seriously! Buy stocks! Don't buy sports cards.
Sports cards can outperform stocks, just depends on what you buy.
@@planetawesome3575 Sports cards are carboard. Stocks represent equity in proft-generating entities. Sports cards aren't rare either.
@@planetawesome3575 show me an investing book that tells you to buy sports cards.
@@planetawesome3575 what investing book tells you to buy cardboard?
As a subscriber, I love the channel. However I have mixed feelings on videos like this. For those of us who figured all this out on our own a long time ago, you're taking our advantage away as far as finding our deals
Bro, it sounds like what you’re really saying is, you want most hobbyists to stay in the dark so you can keep taking advantage of the chumps… that’s not a good look man
Chumps? Back in the day there was no Internet, there were no comps.. You could get ripped off without even knowing it..and that's the way it was! Hobbyists today have it way to easy! If you always wanna make the best deal you have to educate yourself
Move with the times, my friend. We are in the digital age, this is now how information is learned. Why do you want to make it hard for the new people just because it was hard for you? Bet someone who is a dying collector would be grateful their family has a tool like this to know what to do with it.
@@pedrocirino5695 chumps, uneducated, naïve, however you’d like to describe them… his comment makes it sound as if he would prefer people stay uneducated so that he can continue to use their naïveté to make more money off of people who don’t know what they’re doing. The education process is key, as you stated. So, why would he be torn on educational videos like this one, unless he’s wanting to take advantage of the uneducated? .. we should always be seeking more education.
@TradeUpCollectibles kinda odd they're in here using the updated easy system while simultaneously complaining about it.
