The genre is there bc of what we have made it to be. And in a sense as Bizzle mentioned, some of us (many as a matter of fact) take great pride in it, unfortunately actually. To take pride in the fact that you are a Christian is to act is if you had something to do with your own saving when in fact it is by grace that we (Christians) have been saved. Boasting in the Lord is one thing but boasting in the fact that we have a label is another.

It’s perfectly fine to respond with “yeah that’s a good point” or “ I didn’t look at things that way”. When you respond with another view point, you don’t do service to the other persons thoughts and overlook them.
