- In this video i show you what i did with Joey to prevent him to be agressive when food is involved. That way you know it's safe to have people, children, friends around when he is eating. Really important steps for your dog to behave in society.

hi shadow, today Zeus snapped i was doing all you told me feeding him with my hands etc, the only thing is that at lunch the lady that takes care of my baby would feed him because am at work so she would just put food in his bowl and give it to him, but breakfast a dinner am the one doing all the steps, today he jumped and tried to bite me he was really angry he attacked me, i know he is a two month puppy but i got kinda scared and im the one that steped back, im worried that my rottie will be agressive over food, i do want to say that he is not agressive at all and i have only seen his agressiveness over food he is very calm with people and other dogs! he is a sweet dog!

I just watched youre videos its pretty good ! i don't you need my video anymore :D there is a difference between traning and education. Most dog trainer focus only on training ( a word that your dog associate with a action they have to do). I focus alot on education too. It's hard to explain. I want to make a video where i explain how i see dogs. But you are doing great! Only thing i can suggest, is when you ask him to sit, just say it once, if he doesn't do it, make him do it either by using a piece of food on top of his head ( like when u showed him how to sit) or walk closer to him. If you repeat more than once and he doesn't do it , he will understand that he doesn't have to do it the first time you tell him to. And eventually when he is abit older you can start just to wait with the bowl in your hand and he will sit by himself :) But its good work ! :D

hi shadow! im using your techniques to train Zeus, sometimes its ok he steps back and sit back down but sometimes when i put my hand in his bowl while eating he stops and starts growling, what should i do when he does that? when he gets mad in a tense body position and starts growling
when he does the growling thing, do you remove your hand ? Because if you did, he now knows that it works, when he growls the human takes the hand out of my food. how often do you do it ? also do you put the bowl down the way i show it in the video ? that is really an important step. What you could do first ( because he is really young right ? you just got him i think ? ) is to stop feeding him in his bowl, and feed him in your hands on top of the bowl for a couple of days, he will associate your hands with food and that your hands can be close to the bowl and food comes out of it. after i'd 4-5 days, you can start putting the food in your hand, but instead of feeding him in your hands you are going to drop the food into his bowl so he sees that your hands are giving food (not dropping all his food at once tho, do it small portions at a time and make sure he sees that its coming from your hands). after maybe another 4 days, You can start again, if he does step back, you can say yes and reward him with a piece of food you just took from his bowl, take the bowl and put it back down. Also if he still growls, ( i doubt it would happens after if you do what i just told you) i would personnally not remove my hand, i would stay calm and assertive ( they sense your energie alot so as hard as it can be, don't be stressed out he is only a puppy, i wouldn't recommend doing this with an adult dog tho) use a sound like sssshhhh or no beeing calm and assertive when you see he gets tense, to stop the behaviros immediatly and put your hand in the bowl. Keep your hand in the bowl until he backs up , not moving your hand, you want him to step back by himself, your energie does ALOT of things. You want to make him understand that you are in charge of the food, its really important. if you are not comfortable to put you hand in the bowl and leave it there ( if your energie is not calm and assertive it wont work) you can use a plastic hand from the halloween store attached to a stick, you really want him to understand that when he growls, the hands doesn't go away, and that you are in charge, not him).

I'm going to use a rmb( raw meaty bones) diet for my rottie when I get him if u want can you make a vid on that? Do you use the same procedures as in this vid?
I can't make a video on that since i don't know that kind of food. But yes the procedure is still the same. You want your dog to know you are in control of food and that you can take it away and put your fingers in it and that he can't be agressive
love it! i just love your vids they are very helpful and inspirational to train a dog so both are happy family and the dog, how much food do you feed Joey a day? can you tell me in pounds or kg? i have read a grown rott eats 10 pounds a week... is that right?
thank alot ! :) he eats around 7 cups a day, which can vary abit if he gets more or less excercise of course. It says it equals around 12 pounds/week so it's about right !
i have no problems with food, he lets me do whatever i want, except when i give him some meat... with that he gets ungry when i get closer... help me please, what do i have to do?

what is the best place to put in my puppy ? I put him in room but he is angry :s
how old is he ? I use to put my dog in a cage when he was small. If you do it well he will like it. He would go in his cage to sleep when he was with us because he liked it so much. For a puppy its a place they feel safe in. What do you mean angry ? He destroys things ?

have you had female rottweiler? what was your experience? more trainable ?
no sadly i never had a femalle rottweiller, he is my first dog. All dogs loves to get trained, they all love to eat. In that way i don't think there is really a difference between male and female. They say that males are more dominant, less cudly (if thats even a word) and female more submissive and soft. I strongly believe in beeing in charge, so if you know how to raise your dog well, you will have no problems with both gender. Joey LOVES affection and he is not fixed yet, he could be dominant but he knows im the one in charge now so he never did anything in that kind of matter. They say the breed is more stubburn tho, male or female the same. I had to repeat some process alot with my dog, need alot of patience.

What about toy aggression
It's the same thing. I can make a video about it bout its about the same. I take away his toys sometimes, especially real bones so he knows im in control of toys too and don't decide to protect them

Is he a German Rottweiler or a American Rottweiler
Also how old is he?
My breeder tol me that they came from italie so she couldn't tell me if german or american but i would say he is americain... he is more tall and his face is not that wide. He is 7 months old in this video. :)

There is no such thing as American or German rottweiler, some are good examples of the breed and others are not.

well by germain or american rottweiller i meant that they have different standar of the breed which makes them look different from a country to another :P
