Sensei Armstrong I agree. Takes away from the intensity and ambiguity too early. The mask makes him seem less (or more than) human. When it's off it feels like you're just fighting a regular guy, which is precisely what this is not.
In Deathsroke's perspective, Batman wasn't worth fighting with the sword. Sure, he's a mercanary that should make the kill right away. However, he's a fighter taking on what was supposedly an urban myth, so he wants to know if it's even worth a challenge.
Not as much as a sword tho. No matter where you hit with a sword it will cause severe damage. The staff you may be in a little pain, unless it is directly to the head, in which you could easily just duck
This fight affected Deadstroke so bad that he even confessed in Arkham Knight that he never came back for a rematch until The Arkham Knight confessed to him that Batman said that Deathstroke was the toughest S.O.B he had ever faced wich is also impressive this fight was so good that it not only blew all our minds but also Batman's and Deathstrokes' mind too

I think its really cool that this fight forces you to actually time your counters instead of just spamming the button. Even if it makes the fight super hard.
I think it’s really cool that this fight happens at the beginning, when you’ve barely had any time to adjust to the combat if it’s your first Arkham game, so it feels difficult, but not impossible
Well,i did adjust to combat, because after beginning i started to explore open world, and had a lot of fights with thugs, and already had a lot of skills upgraded, because i got a lor of XP while exploring 😂
It was my first. Didn't know you could use projectiles or ranged attacks in combat so this was much harder for me. Died twice before I got into the rythm of his attacks.
I remember playing this when it came out, I was kind of doing alright until I took his mask off and he started getting faster and more aggressive, I was like oh shit take the mask back if you want pls don’t let me die again

I love this boss fight to death, definitely the best boss fight in the series! But I do think it's hilarious how Deathstroke takes out his sword, twirls it around a bit, and then immediately puts it away at the beginning of the fight.
Probably cause Batman fucking countered the first sword attack after Deathstroke strings him upside down during the interrogation with Penguin 💀 fight didn’t even start yet and Slade already fumbled a killing blow
Man, i fought deathstroke so many times i got to a point where i already knew the exact moment for countering him and make it all look like a movie coreography. It was awesome.
This needs to be an actual movie and especially now that Affleck is an older, experienced Batman that has seen and dealt with all kinds of shit, him vs. an older and experienced Deathstroke would easily be one of those "fight to the death" situations !
0:50 can I just point this out and say that this was literally badass because one Batman is fighting someone worth his match two and the way on how they make an entrance towards each other was cool
The Arkham knight battle should have been hand to hand combat and maybe the Arkham knight throws smoke and vanishes and then you got to find him while he regens health and he ambushes you and I also think they should have got him to block attack’s as if he knows Batman’s very move and what he will do next Do you agree?
I think AK should be defeated like this : First stage is the fight we have now. At the end of it, Batman breaks his sniper rifles and drop AK to the ground and start fighting him hand to hand
This fight is deceptively simple, it's probably one of the hardest fight for me in Arkham, because it's unique, your not moving around with acrobatic moves and fighting goons, you're reading a competent opponent who will pummel if you if it sees an opening.
One of the best boss fights in the entire series. The hype and tension I felt as a younger kid playing this was through the roof, it made me focus to read Slade's movements and try and counter whenever I had to, and taught me to not be so brash when it came to attacking, cause eventually I'd take too many hits. Shame what we got in Knight. But seriously, this game is definitely one of the most underrated games out there. This Batman fights more animalistic, as that is the early Bat's nature. This one also has more emphasis on the boss battles, the detective-ness, and while the story may not be the greatest, the game damn well was mad fun, loved certain missions like the Crime Alley shooting (side mission), GCPD break-in (main campaign), etc.. God I wish I could have this game remastered🙏😩✨
Such an awesome fight. Having the game force you to slow down and watch for the counters perfectly captures the feel of two master martial artists dueling.
Cool little detail: Batman intentionally throws Deathstroke's sword on his left side to make sure Slade follows it and catch him in his blindspot.
I literally never thought of that it's those tiny details that sometimes go unnoticed that make these games great

Same thing also happens with Bane at the end of the Royal Hotel fight. Both Slade and Bane pushed Batman to his limit.
Can never get enough of this scene, always thought that Deathstrokes mask broke off too soon though.
Sensei Armstrong I agree. Takes away from the intensity and ambiguity too early. The mask makes him seem less (or more than) human. When it's off it feels like you're just fighting a regular guy, which is precisely what this is not.
Mask should have came off last
It's not a mask. It's a helmet. It didn't break. Batman punched it off
Colonel Aaron Douglas Hanson Daniels still should’ve been punched off last

In Deathsroke's perspective, Batman wasn't worth fighting with the sword. Sure, he's a mercanary that should make the kill right away. However, he's a fighter taking on what was supposedly an urban myth, so he wants to know if it's even worth a challenge.
Bro that staff is metal it can cause quite a bit of pain
Not as much as a sword tho. No matter where you hit with a sword it will cause severe damage. The staff you may be in a little pain, unless it is directly to the head, in which you could easily just duck

Indeed great fight but for me Mr Freeze boss fight from Arkham City is still number #1 in the whole series ;)
This fight was EXTREMELY repetitive and even the poison ivy titan plant from arkham asylum was better.
This fight affected Deadstroke so bad that he even confessed in Arkham Knight that he never came back for a rematch until The Arkham Knight confessed to him that Batman said that Deathstroke was the toughest S.O.B he had ever faced

This was my first arkham game, and i passed it on the second try, not that hard its just the stress and anxiety that makes you lose

This fight is deceptively simple, it's probably one of the hardest fight for me in Arkham, because it's unique, your not moving around with acrobatic moves and fighting goons, you're reading a competent opponent who will pummel if you if it sees an opening.
1:10 damn this is soooo badass i mean two evenly matched opponents fighting to the death ( well not really )
