Just a thing about the highlights: I agree that plays where there is a shot made are generally more fun, but in that 4th quarter run the most astounding thing was that the GSW couldnt score 1 basket. To better understand the game, it would be cool to have seen a couple of plays to understand why/how they werent scoring or how were the celtics defending differently

@@popopopo4981 It's dangerous to play the numbers like that though, the Nets, Bucks and Heat all told themselves the same thing and the C's kept hitting shots. Al and Dwhite won't shoot a combined 11-15 every game but if you're gonna throw the whole defense at Tatum and leave NBA players open, they're always gonna make you pay eventually.
But it’s also highly unlikely Tatum will play this bad again as well.

That 14 - 0 run when the scores were level at 103 was crazy impressive by the Celtics. The fact the won this away from home and Tatum only scored 12 is amazing 👏🏻.

Tatum made an impact elsewhere. He was only bad scoring wise. Dubs focused their defense on tatum a lot. Next game they might try a more balanced defense so hortford and white don’t drop that many points but then there is the risk of the Jays both dropping 30+ and they pretty much bever lose when that happens. Celtics defense is gonna adjust too, they have a size advantage but im curious if they will press hard on curry from the beggining or do what they did this time. Curry looked tired tpwards the end but can’t count on that every game. We have to see what happens in game 2 to truly get a grip of how this will go

By no means do I think this is an easy series for Boston and that they’ve already won as some suggest… Yet I don’t think you can say this was really flukey. While horford and white shot lights out, curry was also lights out for the first 3 quarters, otto porter shot 80% from 3 too which won’t happen again. Klay was pretty good till the 4th too. I’m just saying, it’s not like the celtics were the only ones shooting well, they also defended insanely well in the 4th too which chalked up to the warriors missing some of those shots.

The Celtics!!! They just never gave up & late in that game started playing a higher level of defense while also moving the ball on offense fast & it worked. The Warriors couldn't keep up. Tatum had a poor shooting game & the Celtics still won - wow! Celtics in 5, 6 at the most.

Al Horford is the anchor of this young team. His stability and unwavering demeanor make his teammates feel relaxed as if this is some mid season game - not the Finals.
I think Al waited all his life for these 2 upcoming weeks and I dont think Golden state can do much against determination like that, except let him score and hopefuly let him make mistakes.
I think game 2 will be another win for Boston.

Led 3-0 with 10’ left vs Chelsea (after winning 3-1 at Stamford Bridge) and eventually equalizing and winning in overtime.
Trailing by 2 goals against City in STOPPAGE TIME, scoring twice in 2 minutes to get to OT and win it all.
They weren’t great during the final but their keeper had a great performance.
Boston is insane when they find their shooting rythm. It is almost impossible to stop them if you let it go.

What a game though for them to turn it around and blow them out by 12. Although Im rooting for Warriors, that's a great effort for them to make this a great Game 1 series. Props to Jaylen Brown for igniting the fire in the 4th quarter. I know White and Horford were ballin hard as well but Jaylen was the unsung hero of the 4th quarter.

Horford, white and Brown played incredible in the 4th which allowed Boston to go on a run. Tatum had a bad game and needs to step up. This series might go the distance but i believe the warriors will bounce back!
Defense was focused on him. He made the right call to pass. He did have a double double of 10 pts 13 ast. It was also good that his teammates are all ready to pull the trigger. That's how a team should play on the final.

This was a great game 1. I hope the Celtics can play like this every game because the warriors show up every time and the game is dependent on the 3-ball against the warriors. Today they managed to hit them, later in the series it’s questionable but it’s be a miracle if Celtics win!
