You've got this! God's got you! You are already doing a good job because you are getting out of that and that is always the first step to recovery and that is so good! Keep going ❣️
It's really hard to do it on your own. Church is your best bet, God WILL help you. 30 years of addiction here doing it "on my own." I've lost so much, God saved me.
Don't be affraid to ask for help. It's too big of a monster to battle alone.

Hey Phil. I don’t know if you read these. I’m Bill’s oldest grandson. He talked about you and Mrs. Kay all the time. I’ve heard many stories about y’all. He said you where one of the best football players there ever was and that y’all where good friends. I’ve heard many more stories but I won’t go into them in here. But I just want to say thank you for talking about my E-paw as we all called him. I know he is probably tickled in heaven. We celebrate his life tomorrow and it’s gonna be tuff, but we will get through it. He always wanted me and his other 2 grandsons to meet y’all but we never did get to. And my grandmother did have it but she is finally over it. Thank you again for talking about him I just think that’s awesome. RIP E-paw.

I spent at least 5 years drunk and I drank whiskey and it was filling a void for me and the only reason I seen the light was seeing my new grandson Jasper and asked God for help before that I had not admitted that I needed help after I did God has been blessing me every day and every way possible we as humans let those things happen without realizing it is happening well I thank God for showing me his grace and for knocking me flat on my butt

My mom took my dad to the cleaners through divorce when I was 11 too. I never developed a substance dependency, never even touched drugs or alcohol, but I definately had other flaws that I know came from that experience. I'm still working through them at 27.
Phil you have the ability to ignite the fire of the Lord in me when I’m wavering. I miss my papa, his name was Bill, thick Scottish accent he was a solider. He raised me. He passed in January 2019. The 15th to be exact. He was also a good good man. He lived a good life and enriched mine. He didn’t know the Lord his whole life but I secretly brought Him (Jesus) in our home in his last years. Who could say if they got to know eachother? I hope they did so we can all meet in Heaven one day. ❤️ thanks papa Phil. Don’t change.

I can relate to the drug usage ...my own family . It’s been going on for 35 years with short periods of being clean while being locked up . So very heartbreaking . They even will remark that God came through for them again ! I pray but I am to a place where I groan ..no words . And He hears the groaning of our soul. Be blessed and favored 🙏🏽❤️

You mention the duck blinds, but I see Gods works as I sit in my yard at sunrise. I hear my sparrows sing and my swallows dive for insects, the woodpeckers pound against the trees, and the glory of God turns the morning sky beautiful colors.

Wow.... my story is very similar to this one... comin up on two years of medication assisted sobriety... working my way off of it and God has used the outdoors as the mechanism for me to communicate with him and to show me theres so much more to his creation than a temporary euphoria that leaves you empty

Another place people can get help and it's free. Its called Teen Challenge for adults. My son went there for meth addiction. If you can afford it it cost 750.00 but you can go there free if you can't
I’m 33. I’m 3 years off heroin after similar escalation as the story here. Started with pills got to heroin then got into heroin in my arm. I’ve been stabbed at 18 collapsed lung and lining of my heart puncture. I’ve been held at gunpoint and told my drug dealer he’d have to shoot me as I reached in his pocket and grabbed the dope I paid for. Treatment centers counselors. Anonymous meetings. Several relapses. Last one almost killed me. Overdosed behind the wheel and crashed into a tree at 60-70mph. I can still walk but a little different than I used to. I wasn’t opened to Jesus until 7/12/21 I quit taking suboxone. On 8/22/21 I was baptized and have never felt so fulfilled. Thank you Jesus for saving me even when I didn’t believe in you.

I’ve never put off watching a show, after the last one, dissatisfied, but I shouldn’t put my faith in man ... 40 minutes of hunting and 9 minutes of God ... I’ve been disappointed.
Sloan’s story was a great one.
I could understand your disappointment if this podcast is the only place you hear about Jesus. For me, this podcast is supplemental to going to our church, praying, reading the Bible and listening to sermons. I enjoy hearing about hunting because it reminds me of growing up and my Dad and brothers hunting. I love how they share Jesus as well.

I love all y'all very much as brothers in Christ. Could you please change the name to Unashamed with Phil, Jase AND AL. It hurts my heart that Al is left out. Every single episode you can see how much Al loves & respects both his dad (Phil) & Jase. Al got left out a lot in the Duck Dynasty. He does so much to keep the show flowing & balanced.
