Because breaking up the family is the worst thing you could possibly do. Your approach is what most women in western culture tend to do and that is what continues to create a systemic issue within broken families (single parenting, kids with less resources) You are essentially choosing to break up a family over a an affair/meaningless hook up. I don't see anything wrong with re-evaluating your life, married or not. If either one had a "strong" marriage, this would have never happened. I know many people who have been married for years and split. The one thing I always hope for is, the children are well informed and assured they are very loved by both parents.
