    Guys, you should have seen the crowd... It was absolutely full house, with people who knew each other thanks to the band coming together. Kris is a main actor in many generation's lives in Hungary. I just thought I would let everybody know. Love you, my man!

      Hey my dude, thanks for watching the video and even more so for coming to the show. It was awesome seeing both of you. 🤗 Get ready for a message regarding the album in the next weeks, I might have something for you. 😜 I can finally focus on that project again so things are moving forward. Cheers and much love!

    Great sounding band Kris, and it didnt take you long to get your chops back! You had em! I come from a metal background too so I can relate but I played drums in metal bands,,well there was the one year that I played bass in a Thrash band after I saw Metallica and Jason Newsted live. He had such an impact on me! anyway, that was awesome and props to your sound guy!

      Thanks a lot my dude! It was an awesome excuse to practice challenging stuff daily, which is without doubt a great thing. And the show... one of the best in my life. I'll let the sound guy know that you dig the mix. Cheers buddy!

      Thanks a lot Mario! I won't lie, it was a LOT of fun chugging the old songs with the guys. I still love some metal stuff but I feel much more inspired to play and write music with less gain and more dynamics. I'm getting old I guess but that's totally fine, haha!

      Thanks so much my friend! Yeah it’s easy to think that guitar dudes on youtube are just monkeys in a room without a real musician background. And I will most definitely not explain myself in every single video, haha! As matter of fact I’ll never consider myself being a proper youtuber, that’s why my channel will never be huge. But that’s perfect. I much rather do things in an organic way and have awesome people like you hanging out here and having good talks in the comments. I really appreciate you dude!

    I like those riffs, very percussive and crunchy! That PAF bite through a Mark III + boost is just great for that type of stuff that needs a tight, clean, responsive attack. The band sounded great. A lot of active touring heavy bands don't sound that tight and zoned in.

    • @KrisBarocsi
      @KrisBarocsi  3 місяці тому +2

      Thanks a lot! Yeah some of the guys are still active (and pretty successful) musicians. Some others literally took the instrument out of the case for the first time after many years, haha! It was an amazing show. Cheers!

    great video Kris, thanks for sharing this
    I went through something somewhat similar, used to play in a death metal style band back in university and when we all left to different places in the world, i ended up mostly playing math rock/post rock sorts of stuff no metal guitars, and 18 years later joined a metal band of 40 year olds 😄i'm so grateful as it's improved my playing no end, especially the right hand
    the beauty of muscle memory is that it does come back, you need to put in some work as you did, but it's all still there, and the beauty of reconnecting with that time in your life and those people is the why you'd drive to budapest and back over one weekend, awesome to see , kudos 🙌

    • @KrisBarocsi
      @KrisBarocsi  2 місяці тому +1

      Hey Paul, yeah luckily these things come back but it's scary how much you have to practice until you are on the same level as you were many years ago, haha! After a certain technical level it's pretty much like professional sports. You gotta train it daily, otherwise it just doesn't work. Cheers!

    My band was nowhere near as popular or good as yours. But sometimes people ask me what it sounded like, and when I try to play my old parts, it’s actually pretty difficult. It’s true that if you don’t palm mute every single day over and over again, your muscles to do that really deteriorate. And playing with metal gallops, down picking and such is like athletic training, you have to do it everyday to keep it up. I sympathize Kris. Plus rigs change as style changes. Mine is soooo different. But, you’re a great player. It sounded great! This was fun.

    • @KrisBarocsi

      Thanks a lot for watching and for the kind words! I think it's good that people change and with that the style and the rig too. It's just fun to circle back to your origins every now and then.

      Haha! It might be a little too late for that. I love chugging away every now and then but listening to metal doesn't inspire me that much anymore. I think I just listened to it too much for too long, haha!

      Haha, yeah as I mentioned in some of my videos, I'm all about the rock & roll when I'm on stage. This time I was pretty stationary compared to how I normally am, mainly because of the songs being tough to play. 😂 And the hair? Ah man, I'd love to have longer hair but yeah... it's too late I'm afraid. 😅

    Hey Kris, Cool to see you playing in a band, what was it like for you to be on stage again after such a long time?

    • @KrisBarocsi
      @KrisBarocsi  2 місяці тому +1

      Nope, no problems at all. And these are vintage correct pickups so unpotted, etc.
      Truth be told, I’m not playing with a ridiculous amount of gain. When I set up my tone for high gain stuff I turn the gain up to the point where the palm mutes start to chug and that’s where I leave it. But for that you need a firm right hand attack (since at that point the amp doesn’t compress that much).
