Here’s a few tips that I recommend
1. Collect and save
2. Buy in moderation
3. Buy little things that you can afford before big things that you barely have the money to attend
4. Try not to spend your entire wallet in one go, it’s better to just make a budget for a certain time period and go with that since you’ll always be discovering new anime and have leftover money if you want to buy dem anime merch. Also, it doesn’t strain your wallet!
Lastly, if you don’t have a job or you’re still in school and your money comes mostly from your parents, focus more on stuff like posters, gacha, wall scrolls, manga, etc rather than the more pricey stuff like figurines, that can come later (based on personal experience)

yup totally agree, I currently do a budget of ~$40-$80 per month on anime stuff. I mainly focus on posters/shitajiki(plastic sheets ~B5-A4 size with anime stuff on it), CDs, magazines (affordable and very high quality images), and occasionally BDs. When I get my next wage hike, I might also consider collecting and preserving anime cels of old anime.
Welp i started off buying not 1 not 2 but 6 nendoroid's before even buying my first poster 😂

My 10 steps for people:
1. Have enough money
2. Convince those who are living with you
3. Have at least PC, headphone, manga, light novel, anime albums, game collection, good set of loudspeakers, DVD CD Blu-Ray players, CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, figure, a large screen for you to have visual pleasure, WLAN, wall pictures/posters/rolls, some personal anime drawings, musical instruments like guitar, beddings like anime body pillow (this is one of the necessities) , some anime clothes (not necessary for cosplay but things goes best if one has a complete set of otaku girl wear) and some East Asian cultural items.
4. Protect all those above from the invasion of monsters called kids.
5. Isolate your collections and electronic devices from non-otakus.
6. After all of that, you still have to bravely prove that you are not childish, alien, psycho or hentai.
7. Make sure after doing all of these, you can still find a girlfriend/boyfriend
8. Don't collapse when your anime treasures are destroyed by 'monsters', careless girlfriend/parents/relatives, earthquake or fire.
9. Keep some copies for purposes other than collection e.g. Anime preach
10. Time to show off

Well, in general both are games and not Anime. Angel Beats and Clannads root is the VisualNovel. They are mostly way better. The same with LittleBusters! The anime is (sorry for Key) Trash, but the game is good in general.
Original source is a lot of times superior i agree. Also ye, Clannad particularly is overhyped. It wasnt bad by any means, but it wasnt anything Special either. 6/10 for both seasons at best

I'm saving up currently lol. So at the moment I have a small manga shelf, a hatsune Miku vocalist poster, a hatsune Miku figure and three small printed out photos of my favourite anime I'm gonna frame which is Toradora, No Game No life and Tokyo Ghoul but for Christmas I'm hopefully going to get a a Shiro figure from no Game no life

Guys if u want to buy posters or figures I recommend AliExpress , Taobao and Yoybuy . the posters mostly costs 1 or 2 euro and the figures costs 15/20 euro ! Also the hoodies / T-shirts are the cheapest things .
But always write the name of the items you want in Chinese !

A tip I have is to not impulse buy. If you see a figure, watch the series and make sure you actually like it otherwise in a month to a year you’ll have buyers remorse.
That’s what I’m doing with the Fate series after seeing the ‘Saber/Altria Pendragon (Alter) & Cuirassier Noir’ and ‘Saber Alter - 1/7 - Rider (Amakuni, Hobby Japan)’ figures. They’re dope figures but the price is something which makes me really consider if I’d buy them.
