Pelling Skywalk

The skywalk is elevated and offers panoramic views of the Himalayas, including the towering Kanchenjunga range. Chenrezig Statue
The Chenrezig Statue, standing at 137 feet, is a major highlight in Pelling. Chenrezig, or Avalokiteshvara, is a revered figure in Mahayana Buddhism, known as the deity of compassion. The statue is part of a larger complex that includes a meditation hall and the skywalk. The massive statue is designed with intricate details, reflecting the Tibetan Buddhist style. Visitors often come here to offer prayers and experience the tranquility of the area.
From the base of the statue, there are breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes, including lush valleys and snow-capped mountains. The statue and the skywalk together symbolize peace and serenity, blending spirituality with adventure.
Pemayangtse Monastery
Pemayangtse Monastery is one of the most ancient and significant monasteries in Sikkim, belonging to the Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Founded in the 17th century by Lama Lhatsun Chempo, the monastery is known for its rich history and cultural importance. It played a vital role in the religious and political life of the Sikkimese kingdom.
Inside the monastery, you’ll find ancient relics, including statues, thangkas (religious paintings), and scriptures. The monastery houses an elaborate wooden sculpture called Sanghthokpalri or the "Heavenly Palace," which is a remarkable piece of craftsmanship that took five years to complete.
Pemayangtse Monastery offers a peaceful atmosphere for meditation and contemplation. The views of the Kanchenjunga range from the monastery are particularly captivating. It’s also the site of an important religious festival called Cham, which involves ritualistic dances performed by monks, wearing elaborate masks and costumes.
