cicada killers dont go after you unless you actually make them sting you, they have the same male without stinger female with stinger part like the bore bee. they are solitary and do not nest, they usually live alone and only stick around with others during mating season, they referred to as gentle giant.
I'd take a cicada killer wasp over a yellow jacket nest any day. They are intimidating from their size. I had six at my old house. Nice soft dirt as they were renovating at the time.
Near my drive way, 7 of them decided to make their tunnels and I see their mounds. Usually I’ll see one of them kill and drag a cicada back into their burrows. Pretty cool, I managed to catch 2 of them and they’re not that bad, although the first time I saw them I thought they were murder hornets from afar.
I unfortunately was stung by one of these several times as a kid when I accidentally sat next to its borough Hill. Scariest thing I ever endured and it was one of the most painful stings I've ever had. Got me like six or seven times the welts were huge
These are the largest wasps in North America, but they aren't aggressive. They live alone and only defend themselves, not a nest.

That's an attack helicopter that is not a wasp
No it's cicada killer and it's cicada
Coyote Peterson finally did a sting episode of this wasp
Ye
Yeah, all he does is overreact sadly.
That wasp is massive!
Theyre huge. But compare them with an Asian queen giant hornet
The front door is too small
When your passive aggressive friend wants to show you something in there house
Coyote Peterson anyone?
Me Haha. Just watch the video
Nah
You heard the sound of the Nashville Tennessee cicadas
She def wasn't coming after you. They are relatively harmless to humans unless directly feel threatened..
I hear the other cicadas

I was just stung yesterday while mowing. Only got stung once right on top my head. Still, it was very painful and is still sensitive.
Cicada Killer
That’s the queen as well
Dustin Shultie I didn’t think there were queens for these. They live alone if I remember correctly but I’m not really sure
Jim Hall Hmm you may be right, I think I’ll google it and find out for sure
