One think everyone needs to keep in mind is that these artists are not people with millions of followers, Star Shah has 2 thousand followers and he got a stage like Coke Studio. This shows it's all about talent and quality on coke studio. ❤

Xulfi, the producer of the show, picks these artists. He “discovers” new artists through their work on social media etc. Star Shah, for instance, he found through his channel on UA-cam. Zeeshan Ali had already worked with Xulfi years ago on Nescafé Basement. Each song has a behind-the-scenes feature that explains the whole process. The set, by the way, isn’t an actual place, it was constructed just for this song.
Xulfi does it right now , Rohail Hyatt did it the initial few years, I'd say Rohail Hyatt set a great mold and Xulfi ran ahead with it excellently
@@saadghauri yes you’re right of of course. Strings were great as well but Rohail Hayatt was the pioneer. What he started has inspired so many not just in Pakistan but all over the world. None of these countries like India, Bangladesh etc would have been inspired to follow suit.

This guy Star Shah (Amir Shah)has worked so hard to get to this point. I still remember the day I met him by accident at our university UMT, Lahore in like 2013. At that time he was studying BS Electrical Engineering. He showed us some of his work he was doing at that time.
P.S. he’s also from my hometown Okara, Punjab.
The language was not Urdu, it was beautiful Punjabi. It is spoken by atleast 150 million people (120 million in Pakistan and 30-40 million in India)
Part from Punjabs on both sides, Most people in both sides of Kashmir, Haryana, KP, Delhi, UP understand regular Punjabi. So the total number is a lot more than you mentioned. Thanks

I was mentioning the number of *native* Punjabi speakers. If we are talking about just understanding it then ofcourse it is well over 200 million
I like how Punjabi sounds so nice depending upon where the speaker comes from. The slight urdu touches from Pakistan and the Hindi Punjabi tones from India. So similar yet so different and so so beautiful as a language.

Sulfide is the name of the creative Director for Coke studio seasons 14 and 15. Previously, he also produced much of Nescafé basement. One important note is that all the Coke studio songs are recorded in one take. What you see is one continuous take with no splicing of multiple takes.

This is a R&B kinda 2AM vibe !!! I love it ! So the masestro of this is Zulfiqar Khan he is a mastermind!! A reccomendation, they usually release the behind the scenes too and how it was made so maybe you could watch those two, give you a better picture musically and creatively whats happening! So for the past couple of seasons, Xulfi has been the director of Coke Studio and usually he finds the talent through people doing musical covers on UA-cam or Instagram in the language he wants the next song to be in.
Another amazing review guys! Someone else said the same thing here- there are many reactions to these Coke Studio songs but I always wait for yours. Not only do you truly understand and appreciate the music, but you also explain it in very easy to understand terms that to an absolutely non-musical person like me who only knows how music makes me feel inside but nothing beyond that in terms of technical aspects, it all just makes sense when you explain it. This is not a real place, it’s a set. And if you watch the Magical Journey video for this song and also for Aayi Aayi, you will see how Xulfi finds his artists and how they create the set. It’s amazing to see! Also, money goes a long way in places like India and Pakistani so their sets can be huge and extravagant without breaking their pockets. Would also love for you guys to check out the new Coke Studio Bangla season 3 song Tati.

When StarShah started singing it was all dark resonating with his lyrics, two people shown tired and sleeping after tense day, while when Zeeshan starts singing and saying positive things about love, we see a iittle more light and reflection of love through images of old woman petting her cat, old and young couple taking care of each other daughter taking care of her mother, and a mother ironinng her childrens school uniform reflecting love does exist in some form or other. Epic song with a great video. Kudos to all the production team and artists.

Producer who goes by the name of Xulfi used to be in a band called Call, you can find his old videos on youtube. He has been behind producing the songs for Nescafe Basement (UA-cam it) He always finds new singers, upcoming artists, not from the mainstream media. The rapper in the song was discovered by him on youtube also
You guys need to know about Xulfi, he's the mastermind behind last season and this as well.

Hi hope you are fine react to balo batian saraiki song by ali zafar and ataullah khan(both legends). Saraki region lies between punjab and sindh so sariki is mixture of punjabi(pasoori) and sindhi (ayi ayi)
Saraiki is not a separate language it is another accent of punjabi the real saraiki language and area falls in sindh province

guys i would highly recommend the behind the scenes videos esp for Pasoori, Thagyan and 2AM. Actually they are all pretty good, subtitled and so informative esp if like me you are not from the region

Urdu is national language of pakistan but all the five provinces of pakistan do have other mother tongue. For example in the province of Punjab its punjabi . In Sindh its sindhi etc . 😊

"Hur muhabbat ki hondi aey" is punjabi. Regional and the largest language spoken in Pakistan. But word "muhabbat" (amor) is in Urdu language as well.

Watch BTS of every song. You would know who does it. For every few seasons Coke Studio hires a famous singer from Pakistan who then produces and hires all these artists. For past two years it's Xulfi.

This argument shows why people here in Korea keep saying that Hybe is ruining Kpop industry right now. This is it. Meen hee jin is literally the Oasis in the desert.
