Well 10 years ago to the night, the short film The Wee 'Hings some exceptionally talented friends and I made for the Commonwealth Games premiered at Celtic Park to 40k people and the world at the Glasgow 2014 Opening Ceremony! Absolute triumph and a joy to be a part of. So blessed to have been able to share my love of Glasgow and feature so many amazing friends and family, their story and their heart by way of spoken word/ Scottish Hip Hop soundtrack. Thank you to everyone who made this possible! Remembering the anniversary and feeling very blessed xx
Last night marked a year since the film was shown at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony. Thank you again to everyone who made this all possible x
I first saw this at the practice opening ceremony, Absolutely loved it and couldn't wait to watch it on the actual opening ceremony on tv with my family. When the BBC just chatted to athletes instead, I was so angry, it was one of my favourite parts of the whole thing. Spent ages trying to find it afterwards, It's beautiful and it's Glasgow and it's just perfect, well done!
Aw thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah was pretty scunnered myself that it didn't get played on telly, quite a lot of people were telling me they had sat through the whole ceremony just to see it and were disappointed come the end when they realized they couldn't get that time back hahaha! Cheers again for taking the time to find the film and leaving such a kind comment!
Saw this on the Monday night Opening Ceremony dress rehearsal and thought it was great. Got a big surprise when daughter said "Dad, they look like your skates" Then I saw my Flashing LED Roller Skates just before the credits started. Great reaction from the folk sat around about us. Was so disappointed that your film was not televised during the actual opening ceremony. Well at least I will share it around now that I have eventually found it. I was in the Amy MacDonald Georg Square video so know many of the opening and closing ceremony cast and am sure they will appreciate getting the link.
Thank you very much for being a part of it! I'm still impressed by your skating skills, keep it up. One of the best things about the whole experience for me has been hearing stories like yours from the people in the film or those around the stadium who seen someone they knew in it! Love that personal connection, it's not my film, I made it to represent people all across Glasgow and beyond. Cheers for sharing!
Also @IainHendo, I discovered you from the music video of The Modests and it was a real pleasure to come to know that you are the same guy behind this clip as well. I remember watching this movie during the Ceremony and it looked great on that gigantic screen, but still amazing on my laptop! Keep up the good work

The lyrics in this clip are really helpful if you want to understand Glaswegians more. As a non-Glaswegian living in Glasgow, thank you very much MOG!

Well Done on the Bafta, this is a brilliant film, very well deserved.
