Many thanks, Derek..Its so ugly..that it is somehow nice!!! ;-).. Let's see, what Adrian will extract from it....I will for sure widen the transfer channels on my own RGU, when I have time for the rebuild...I am sure, it will run much better! Best regards to Australia!!
Amazing ancient relic there. Nice. Dremel inside the piston to make it even lighter? .26 HP wanted! I recently saw a new lathe on line for under 200 dollars and it was not small small. As soon as I get time I'll follow up. Thanks as usual for the master. Can't get enough! Merry Xmas, Paul
Hi Paul many thanks for coment! If the lathe is not a cheap Chinees one, buy for sure..check,uf all gears are present,so you can make threads,...Have a lovely Christmas and good new year Paul!
Big thanks! As it is a side port design, the engine runs fine both ways, due to the symmetric timing. I had an old JENA white right-hand prop, so, therefore, I start it clockwise..with a regular prop, I had it run the regular way.. Thanks for the sharp comment!
Thanks, Steven!! Just check the internet to understand a 2 stroke engine and its timing.. of course, there are several typings of porting, like a side port, intake via the crankshaft or a rear rotor induction or a clack valve induction. For me its peanuts, as I am a car mechanic and done a lot on mopeds when young of course.. always interested, to get more out of it..like all "bad boys" :-).. Snuerle porting with several "fresh gas" ports is a bit more complicated..as there need to be a reverse flow scavenge what helps to get the best exchange of old burned gases ....and the new fresh gases.. as its only a VERY short time to do this..special on high RPMs
Thanks Jesus.. I just noticed..UA-cam cencoring it.. and remove ALL comments.. as I posted a picture of Greta.. the activist.. It is a scandal!! the cencoring me there fore..
Many thanks, Justin!! I wish, I had more time to do it...But I do my best to edit more...but need also some good ideas for editin..so I keep you guys amused!! ;-)
Hi Bill, Many thanks, my friend.. I have a lot videos and pictures of rebuilds still on my P.C. ..but I just have so little time because of the engine work and private life.. A short video like this, only 8 min. is quickly a 2+ hour job to edit it..so you can imagine a long video!! Keep up you great engine work as well my friend!! The Eta backplate has no rush..just don't lose them! ;-) Have a lovely Christmas and great jump in too 2020!!
Thanks Steven! Sure, A lighter piston and smooth down edges of the port make it not original anymore.. The channels itself are still the org size.. and I ask Adrian, what to do with it, and he agrees to make it a bit better, as the org. factory engine were terrible....weak shafts as well.. So Adrian's test report will be ... what could be a good RGU.. if some slight things would be changed.. as so many times on some engines.. J.B. Atom is a classic example.. See his website.. I understand your thinking, of course, Steven.. Would be nice to have an org. engine and test both...But trust me, it run so bad, that it was not even worth to make it run..Very difficult to adjust, and very hard knocks when running... It's still not perfect, but at least decent running now..
Thanks Dough.. its a crazy engine..so ugly.. it's so nice and pretty interesting! Adrian will use the calibrated props on it.. so I cant wait for the results!!
Agree on Steven! ..easy start and good torq is what is very useful.... and indeed, if you need a team race engine..there are other options... It's funny, how big the gap is to the Jaguar engine range.. I guess he learns a lot! Still, some issues especially on the 2.5.. far too thin liners,.. but they run not bad at all..
Heeey, Valic! I loved your intro slideshow and music. And the content too, was all great entertainment. Man, you sure got a serious case of diesel fingers. You did nice work on that old engine, I especially liked your custom modified Adjustable Knucklebuster wrench. It's hard to believe that engine will chug along at such a slow RPM. You've got the expert touch to make that thing crank and run. It's good to see you. I've been out of the game lately too, but not by choice. I'm making a comeback, and hope to see some action by this coming Spring... I'm already counting the days. Hoping I'll have some more adventures to post on the 'Tube soon. Take care, ol' boy, and thanks for the video, Rusty
Hi Rusty! Nice to see, you are still in the engines and planes "Mode" I have a LOT to do with engines and repairs, but as I have some videos from test runs and the pictures of the rebuild, I thought, lets do this one,as Adrian will make a "to the bone test" of this high performace power house.. ;-)..Great to be back! Keep up the great work Rusty.. and the lines tight on the field! Best regards to the US!
Ganz toll ja!!!..Ik heb nog best wat filmpjes op de PC.. maar moest toch wat ff aan elkaar plakken voor mijn kijkers! De RGU Fingerbiter!!.. had wel en bier nodig naar de test loop...LOL!!
Thanks Brian! . I had some old videos... and old ideas left over..so I glue it all together.....I wish, I had more time for my channel!.. but I do my best to keep my followers happy!! ;-)
Oh boy...the would need a mega metamorphose !!.. but still like to know, how much it delivers now.. I guess 0,15 or so... we will see, Pretty good torq at medium speed...but shorth of breath at high revs..I am afraid !! ;-)
It is not recommended on small model diesel engines, due the high compression. There is a chance, you brake the crank pin or rod,if you get a hydraulic lock...flicking by hand gives you the feel for it..
So happy too get your VIDEOS, they getting better and better, thumbs UP!!-!!
Thanks Jack.. If I had more time...and less work .. ideas enough!.. I hope to make more vids! ;-)
A rarity saved from oblivion. Well done Peter!

@@valic000 What is wrong with cheap Chinese? Probably is!!
Another great job Peter! Always look forward to your videos. Best wishes for 2020! Mike
Thanks Mike!! Glad you all like it!! Have a great and g December and a good jump!
Very nice work You have done with this unusual clockwise running engine 👍👍👍
(First time I have seen an model engine runs clockwise... 🙄)
Big thanks! As it is a side port design, the engine runs fine both ways, due to the symmetric timing. I had an old JENA white right-hand prop, so, therefore, I start it clockwise..with a regular prop, I had it run the regular way.. Thanks for the sharp comment!
I love your videos. 2 stroke porting is a mystery to me, a video on your ideas and comparing different engines would be good.
Thanks, Steven!! Good job on getting it back!
THX mate!!
Fantastic work my friend ¡¡¡¡ Beautifull engine too and great sound
Thanks Jesus.. I just noticed..UA-cam cencoring it.. and remove ALL comments.. as I posted a picture of Greta.. the activist.. It is a scandal!! the cencoring me there fore..
Yet again a lovely job! Glad you are making more vids keep it up!! Made my day!😁
Many thanks, Justin!! I wish, I had more time to do it...But I do my best to edit more...but need also some good ideas for editin..so I keep you guys amused!! ;-)
Hi Peter great to see another fine rebuild great choice of music too keep up the good work cheers Bill

Glad to see you back. My only criticism is that your modification means it is not RGU. Transfer ports are tiny though.
Thanks Steven! Sure, A lighter piston and smooth down edges of the port make it not original anymore.. I just like watching engine running at tick-over speed :-) Wonderful! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Dough.. its a crazy engine..so ugly.. it's so nice and pretty interesting! Adrian will use the calibrated props on it.. so I cant wait for the results!!
I like the way it runs. Easy starting is important and swing a large prop. I suppose it depends what you want it to do. It's no team racer!

Well, off to find my father's old MK17!

AMAZING project Peter!!

Good Job!

N.I.C.E. :-)
Djenku Marcin!! Buzki do heski Polska!!! :-)
I understand. I bet even you can't get .26 h.p. out of it though.

Why not use a battery electrivc drill to start it? Save a finger. air-war.org
