My understanding of the way girls sings is at first they're kinda hopeless/lifeless as they sing about their dreams of the person loving them back, then the sound demanding and low-key angry and at the very end they sound still sad but accepting that they'll only have dreams of that person loving them back. It's like a few stages of acceptance.

This song is incredible. Wendy is the clear standout, especially at the end with the high note that just rips out your heart. Its a ballad, and an incredibly sad one, so I understand some not liking the theme of the song, but the vocals should transcend that, and do. Happy Anniversary to the Cake Girls!

I'm sorry but that "different editing for each member" theory is stupid. In Joy's parts, if you watch videos of her live singing, you can actually hear that raspy-sharpness in her voice. It's not an effect. In an interview during Red Flavor(?) era, they mentioned how unique her voice is because she sometimes sounds like she has built-in autotune in her throat. If you need further proof, watch her Masked Singer performance or her recording behind videos. It's clearly not an effect.
