- The European New Car Assessment Programme a.k.a. Euro NCAP has come out with its latest crash test rating for the new 2019 Citroen C5 Aircross SUV. Based on the crash test results, the NCAP has awarded the SUV a 4-star safety rating. In the test conducted by the safety watchdog, the new Citroen C5 Aircross scored a total of 33.4 points for adult occupant safety and 42.6 points for child occupant protection.
The Euro NCAP tested the Citroen C5 Aircross for both frontal and side impact protection, along with pedestrian protection and safety assist features the SUV has to offer. The C5 Aircross SUV comes with most safety equipment as standard, like a forward-looking camera to enable driver assist functions, dual front airbags and side airbags, seatbelt pretensioners with load limiters, seatbelt warning, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and airbag cut-off switch. In fact, Citroen also offers an optional Safety+ Pack which comes with radar sensor for the camera that enhances performance for AEB (Auto Emergency Braking) City, AEB Inter-Urban, AEB Pedestrian and adds cyclist detection. If the Safety+ Pack is added the safety rating goes up to 5 stars for the C5 Aircross.
Commenting on the crash test results, Michiel van Ratingen, Secretary General of Euro NCAP said, "These results show that car manufacturers are still keen and able to achieve the highest safety ratings. It is especially encouraging to see the continued widespread deployment and improvement of advanced technologies such as AEB and lane support. It is good news that some of the basic driver assist technologies will finally be mandated from 2022, but thankfully most vehicle manufacturers are already way ahead of the curve today."
The test results revealed that with standard safety features the protection levels for adult occupants were mostly either good or adequate, except for a couple of tests where the protection level was rated marginal or weak for certain body parts. Similarly, for child occupants, the crash test was performed dummies based on 6- & 10-year-old children, and in both frontal and lateral impact scenarios, the protection level was rated good.

@@shankarwain4289 it's not about fanbois.....it's about the perspective of these foreign companies towards india....in india majority are foreign automakers....maruti was always supposed to make affordable cars(irrespective of comprising safety n all) n same is now being copied by Hyundai, renault,nissan, Toyota etc....there cars may b coming with 1000 airbags abroad but in india they offer just 2... Reason being v r more into touchscreens rather than safety n the sales figures of maruti/hyundai clearly reflect it... hence it's but obvious that if Citroen want to stay in india then they have to compromise on everything

Toyota is going on maruti's way by offering rebadged baleno/brezza rather than offering new products....n honda too is so reluctant to offer any updates to its indian portfolio (city has been updated after so many years, jazz is still not updated)...it's just that these companies really don't want to invest in innovation specifically for india...but yes tata has been updating its cars very frequently now after taking inputs from the critics...

@@utkarshbhargava8519 if a company tries to provide both features and safety, they will have to sell the car for a very high cost, and then people start saying that the car is not worth that much. That is why the companies make stuff which attract the people. Their main motive is to earn money and we cannot blame them for that. You can get a car with less features and more safety in the same price range as that of a feature loaded car which has compromised on safety. It's ur choice which you buy

If tata altroz is tested in euro ncap, it won't score 2 star..it is very high strict not same as global ncap...this test is for euro ncap.

C'est dommage que tout ces crashs test ne soit pas expliqués par des ingénieurs et en français ! Ces vidéos devraient être projetées dans les autos écoles , beaucoup se croient invincibles en voiture ! Hélas même un choc à 30 kh peut tuer ☠

Je suis curieux de savoir combien de véhicules sont détruits lors du passage de ces tests et si les pièces encore intactes sont réutilisées ou dettuite/recyclées

Il faut gérer la décélération que le corps humain peut supporter en particulier à cause des risques de lésion sur les organes. Donc la voiture doit se déformer suffisamment. Le but est de sauver la vie des passagers, pas la voiture...
