Yeah I love that they got the tattoos but when it comes to healing the artist is just wrong. I'm tattooed myself but not an expert when it comes to tattoos. But I do know about wounds and you never want it to dry out. It makes it more difficult for your body to heal and there is a bigger chance of scar tissue forming because the skin can crack if it gets too dry.

I’ve got 3 tattoos across the top of my back. Top of the back isn’t too bad (I also have one on my foot… that was horrible). I have 13 right now, and the back was one of the easiest places for me.
As someone who has 2 back tattoos, I didn't find them that bad. But then again, I also have a small piece on the right side of my collarbone, one on the back of my right calf along all the muscle, and a piece on my ribs that took about 4 hours.
I think anything on the thin parts of the hip bone, or under the upperarms are the worst 😂 I actually flinched a bit when I got inked on my underarm. Really burned. Normally tattooing doesn't hurt but that one got me
i've been watching since before quarantine and i'm sooo lucky to be part of a community that is so compassionate and silly, Snake Discovery totally deserves all the subscribers.
I know that I'm just 1 of 3,000,000, but this channel means the world to me. You two are the reason that I got into keeping reptiles, and I know you hear this everyday-- but this channel is so important to me. I was around 14/15 when I discovered Snake Discovery, I'm now turning 20 in December. I was a young teenager with Autism struggling to find a purpose. I always struggled with maintaining an interest, which is highly uncommon for people with Autism so I felt very out of place all the time and like I wasn't normal. It always felt like something was missing. This channel and my love of reptiles is what was missing. I found this channel randomly and reptiles became my special interest. I'm literally known as 'the reptile dude' by everyone that knows me. You've created a channel that made me realize what I love. Reptiles. I went from owning 1 that I begged my parents to let me care for, to now owning 6 reptiles (5 leopard geckos and a corn snake). I run the reptile club at my college and we've even been to the NARBC as a group and I was so excited to even just see you two. Reptiles are amazing and you've helped me realise that. Thank you for doing what you do ! Please always continue to inspire others and be true to what you both love. - carter

Crazy to me how different artists recommend different healing strategies. All of my tattoos except for one have been healed fully with saniderm and aquaphor which I MUCH prefer over dry healing like what he's having yall do! The itch with dry healing drove me insane
I was just thinking the same thing. Mine have been healed by washing with the hottest water I can tolerate (to temper the skin) and hustle butter, or sandier, I have never dry healed a tattoo before and don’t think I would enjoy the process as much.
@Julie_Louis I despised dry healing, the unholy itch that came along with it was enough to make me genuinely want to scrape it off. My artists always had me wash the goop off, put a little bit of aquaphor on, and cover that puppy back up with saniderm. The saniderm part was only for 2-3 days before it was just making sure it was moisturized 24/7.. not itchy, didn't scab up, and none of the ink fell out. I can't imagine dry healing another tattoo ever again 😂😂
I don't know much, but I thought you aren't supposed to wash fresh tatoos/get them wet? One of my exes was told that specifically after they got theirs. Usually the way to do it is wet healing as dry can end up with issues from what I have heard o.o. wish them luck on their healing journey and I do hope the tattoos heal well.
@houndgirl7365 washing should DEFINITELY be done with an antibacterial soap, my artists specifically recommend dial unscented gold. When you wash the tattoo, it's getting any ink that has been pushed out, platelets, blood, and general bodily ooze out of the tattoo, which is an open wound. Keeping it moistened makes sure it doesn't scab over and the aquaphor is creating a thin breathable barrier to allow the body to heal it but make sure it's not getting hair/dirt/debris in it! Artists usually recommend different things based on preference, but my body and tattoos respond much better to wet healing than dry healing. I will honestly never dry heal another tattoo, the itching, scabbing, and risk of infection just isn't worth it for me 😅
i was surprised he recommended to dry heal it. every artist ive been to has slight differences in what they recommend as best to heal. but ive never had an artist say wash it with soap and leave it!
CONGRATULATIONS! And so well deserved! You both rock and work so hard to get where you are! You're an inspiration for any entrepreneur out there to live life for what you're passionate about.

Thank you for showing some of the process, there's a lot of really shoddy tattoo "artists" flooding social media with bad practice, bad advice, and dreadful work. I feel like there's a big cross-over with exotic pet people, and body mod people, both get misjudged unfairly, and are perceived as scary, when (in my experience) both communities are overwhelming good, kind, compassionate people. Props to Emily for sitting so well, over the spine is quite the choice for a first tattoo, so hugely well done! And now you guys can never change your logo, not ever!

I have a half sleeve on each arm, a leg sleeve, and some other random ones, and my back one was my second worse tattoo. It was rough
My first was the same place as Emily's... Well done!

EMILY AND ED IM SO PROUD OF YOU GUYS i remember 1 mill like it was yesterday 🎉🎉🎉
Can we all just give Ed some major kudos for going from not wanting to be in videos to being shirtless and tattooed in a video. Go Ed!
I love how you brought emotional support snakes and the tattoos look fantastic 🐍❤️🐍
That is so cool emily and ed 🎉
Congrats on 3 mill! You’ve come really far! I love how you brought emotional support snakes! Thank you for doing UA-cam and educating us about reptiles!
I’m not a huge commenter but I love y’all’s relationship.
Congrats guys the tattoos look great! You deserve 3M so much! Here's to 4M! ❤❤❤ So glad to be here for the journey!
1. Congrats again on 3 million! 🎉
2. The tattoos look awesome! 💜
My 5th tattoo fills my whole upper back, and it’s the only one I’ve ever felt faint for! I have a scar along my spine from a surgery and some nerve damage, and it suddenly felt like he was INSIDE my spine when he went over the scar. It didn’t hurt, but it was such a gross feeling that my head started to spin and we took a short break. So don’t worry Emily, you’re not alone! 💜
Wow, they're so bright at the three-week mark! Congratulations on 3mil, it's impressive that you went through with the tattoos and it's great that you enjoy them! Maybe that'll mean more in the future. Here's for 4mil 🎉
Justo cuando volví de tatuarme vi la notificación de este video. Hablando de coincidencias. Felicidades por los 3M
The itching is the worst... Love them! Congratulations on 3M!
As someone who has a LOT of tattoos, I love watching people get their first tats so this was a treat! I'm so glad you two love them and they look great!!
Same I remember the rush I had when I got my first tattoo I now have 8 total one faded away sadly but it's the memory that comes with it
WOW! CONGRATS Y'ALL!
GREAT JOB kids!!! Those look fantastic!!! Gabe is a real pro and just moved through the nervousness. I would love a tattoo from him! I'm a long way from you guys in though in the West Texas desert!
You both deserve this for all you do. Please know we subscribed more than 3 years ago because of who you are and my daughter who is a fearless petite blonde saw another fearless petite blonde who is into snakes. You validated my daughter in ways you will never know. Thank you!
Have we got 2 more tattoo enthusiasts??!?!! Congratulations on the tattoos and hitting your target! Xx
Omg you guys actually did it! Congrats!! They look great! ❤
Congratulations on 3 mil
Im excited to find out if this started your interest in getting more tattoos. It is truly somewhat addicting ... you get one and are so happy everytime you see it so you want more haha. I can totally imagine you guys with some pokemon tattoos etc.
So proud of you guys! I have a strong dislike for snakes but with the education you two are so passionate about, has made me appreciate the little danger noodles. Congrats on 3 mil!!
Congratulations you guys!! 3 mil is insane!
You both chose rather nippy/ouchy placements for your 1st. Will done x
Yay celebration good job
As someone who has thought about a tattoo and hasn't done it yet, it's fun to see your first experience getting tattoos as you 3 mill subs celebrating! What a cool video!
I agree as well. I've never gotten a tattoo. Want to get one in the future
Definitely go for it! Tattoos are so much fun 😁 I'm currently getting a reptile sleave done and every time I look at it I grin like an idiot 😂 especially because it's my grumpy beardie staring back at me 😅 x
@@flame-29936 omg that's the best one yet. Grumpy beardy staring back at you.
My primary problem is idk exactly what I want to get because it will like be with you forever
@@ambercat20 his on my bicep facing me so any time I do something stupid I tell him to stop judging me 😂 then people look at me like I'm a nutter coz I'm talking to my arm 🤦
Very understandable, and it's a good choice not to rush into it! I planned mine out for 2 years before touching ink because I can be a bit indecisive 😅
The best bit of advice I can give you is to look at what your considering having done and think, will I still be into this/enjoy this in my 60s x
Congratulations!!! Well deserved! Love you guys.
I will honestly never dry heal another tattoo, the itching, scabbing, and risk of infection just isn't worth it for me 😅
i was surprised he recommended to dry heal it. every artist ive been to has slight differences in what they recommend as best to heal. but ive never had an artist say wash it with soap and leave it!
they look great
Congratulations! You deserve every single subscription. I can't imagine ever getting enough Snake Discovery content. 🙂
CONGRATULATIONS! And so well deserved! You both rock and work so hard to get where you are! You're an inspiration for any entrepreneur out there to live life for what you're passionate about.
Oh my goodness! A super big congrats on hitting over 3 MILLION subs! 🥳 I love you guys, please don't ever stop doing what you do! 💖🐍
AAAAAHHHHH CONGRATULATIONS ON HITTING 3M🎉🎉🎉
🎉Congrats🎉 on 3 million and the tattoos!! I remember when you guys did everything from home❤. You guys really deserve it - you’ve come so far and are amazing.
Much love ❤ from Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you for showing some of the process, there's a lot of really shoddy tattoo "artists" flooding social media with bad practice, bad advice, and dreadful work. I feel like there's a big cross-over with exotic pet people, and body mod people, both get misjudged unfairly, and are perceived as scary, when (in my experience) both communities are overwhelming good, kind, compassionate people. Props to Emily for sitting so well, over the spine is quite the choice for a first tattoo, so hugely well done! And now you guys can never change your logo, not ever!
Congrats!!! 3 million peeps that loves snakes 🐍 🎉
It’s always so cozy to see videos with you guys! ❤
Congratulations on your first tattoos and he did amazing job with both of you guys❤❤🐍🐍
You guys deserve it!! Your love for teaching and the reptile community draws people in! ❤️❤️
Great video! Been looking forward to this one for a long time!❤ Congrats on three million! I’ve watched your channel for a while, and it’s great to see how you’ve grown on UA-cam! Best wishes:)
Thank you for never asking us to subscribe. Been here since the beginning. Own a 2 year ball python because of this channel. Congrats Ed and Emily. You deserve it! Hands down!!
pretty cool tat :) crazy to see how many fans u have gained and inspired
As a local fan whose been following you since those videos filmed in your kitchen its been so cool to watch your success.
Ill never forget the video where you where showing off how in the middle of no where you lived and you showed Erins corner, a bar surrounded on all sides by corn, and i had to rewatch the segment like 3 times to make sure i wasnt loosing it and i actually did infact recognize where you where driving around😂 was totally shocked to find my favorite youtubers lived so close to me since this really is the middle of nowhere.
Congratulations on hitting 3K! Love the tattoo's! ❤
I never noticed that you never said to like and subscribe, and i admire that you dont and the reason why, i loved watching you build the entire zoo. It's great to watch someone with a passion just show their passion, congratulations ed and Emily!!!
Congrats! After seven tats, I've discovered my hard limit is about three hours before I start going insane. It definitely hurts more after a couple hours and you're fresh out of endorphins. Now y'all gonna need some hoggy tats. :)
Emily and Ed you should get another tattoo when you reach 6 million subscribers
Gabe is such a nice guy. Love how the tattoos turned out. Very nice work.
