Excellent reaction, i can tell you felt this song! I first heard it in 1971 at age 17. Not long after Jim sadly passed away, this song never gets old! The best to you young lady!
I heard this in 1972 when i was 9. "Into this house we're born. Into this this world we're thrown. Like a dog without a bone. An actor out on loan."
"An actor out on loan" has been MY idea of this temporary time we have to wander above earth..., acting out our roles. Making believe.
Val Kilmer played Jim in the movie about the Doors and Jim. Mind blowing performance by Val as Jim. Look alike. A lot of joints went up in smoke listening to this song.
You must be joking. Val Kilmer played a horrible Morrison. By all accounts Jim wasn't acting like a self-obsessed moron all the time. He was quite shy and introverted, actually... except when he drank heavily. The movie really disappointed me. One of the worst depictions of real musicians.
,,@@manolmomchilov1192,,, See there? It is nice to be in America where we can all have different opinions about anything. Well, so far, that is. Jim would have been the same age as me, had he lived. I lived in close proximity to where he was in Ca. But, you are entitled to your thoughts on Jim.
@@davidleatherneck That is right. It is just my opinion. Val Kilmer's portrayal doesn't seem to match the image I have of Jim Morrison as a poet, musician, popstar, etc. Even some members of the band hated the movie, most notably the legendary Ray Manzarek, who said that Jim was way different in real life. The movie isn't bad, but it isn't quite Jim Morrison either.
@@manolmomchilov1192 ,, Okay. Have a nice day. I wasn't necessarily referring to the accuracy of the story line. Mostly I was struck by the voice and image of Jim that Val portrayed.
@@davidleatherneckOkay, The Doors are my favorite band of all time anyway. Nice day to you and cheers. :)
Thank you this one of my favorite DOORS song's they always seem to play it when there's a storm but I love the music & Jim's voice is haunting but also one of the best rock voices around !!!❤❤❤
This song is totally spiritual. I love the DOORS.
This masterpiece was Jim Morrison's last recorded hit. Thank you for letting me watch you experience this song for the first time! I would love to dance with you to this song! This was very special, sweetie! ❤
Actually, the last recorded hit with Jim was Love Her Madley. Recorded just before he flew to Paris.
Hey Dani! Yes I really did enjoy watching you react to this song. It’s been a favorite of mine for some time. I am finding that when people react to this song they don’t say anything about the reference to the “killer” which was a reference to a real person who was hitchhiking and murdering travelers. Not a very fun story but a real one.
welcome to the crazy world of jim morrison, a real legend on and off the stage, rip jim much missed. good reaction dani
Excellent reaction to a classic. I think my favorite doors song was actually after Jim had died . The song was titled "I'm horny I'm stoned ". Pretty funny tune.
Hope you get better soon ,, ❤️
Thoughts in time and out of season. The hitchhiker stood by the side of the road and leveled his thumb, in the calm calculus of reason.
A wonderful insight that the instruments added so much to the mood of the song. Also your thought that the sounds at the end sounded like wind chimes was spot on. I had thought they sounded liked water dripping into a well but some psycheldic wind chimes works too. Any way like you said this music was art and is artistic expression at its best.
This is a Doors and Jim Morrison classic hit. Glad you are doing better Dani and hopefully you have a better month next month. Can you please react to the Climax Blues Band and their hit titled " I Love You " I promise you will love this song and the beautiful lyrics to it. Check it out as soon as you can.
Amazing reaction it’s a great song just one of a kind
Love the Doors! Great choice Dani!! Yea he did have that theatrical mysterious haunting voice. When me and my friend Dan were driving home from college one night (I lived in New Smyrna, he lived in Orlando) I played "The End" by the Doors. Dan got so freaked out he made me shut if off. Lol. Too bad, one of my favorites.
The owners of the Whiskey a Go Go were also freaked out by that song, and fired the Doors from their first gig.
@@kentclark6420 lol oh yea that's right! I remember hearing that. Yes. Luckily they got a record deal that day!
a true classic
I be praying for you be better & keep safe dear a side note Jim Morrison sat on the bathroom toilet while doing this song & maybe most of the album. I think he was bored & drinking during the recording at least it's hinted at in the movie the Doors & if you haven't seen the movie Val Kilmer was spot on as Jim Morrison even did his own singing in the live action live stage singing he did as they say knocked it outta the park it's sad what's happen to Val Kilmer throat cancer as robbed him of his voice & HIS looks 😪😪
Glad you're healing up ok I'm good can please react to you just maybe the one by the Monkees in honor of the late mike Nesmith
The "creepy" tone of his vocals was achieved by layering a whisper track over the vocals. If you listen close, you can hear the whisper.
Btw how weird is it that rider's on the Storm was the last song Jim Morrison recorded with the door before he died
Did some 4 way Orange Sunshine in 71 listening to this when album came out. Maybe the best Doors album.
We were coming home from the drive in movie and my brother and I were half asleep in the back. The song came on and I was thinking it was such a cool song. My first album was The Doors and I have been a huge fan ever since.
Dani, I didn't know that you had a mishap. I'm so sorry! June
👍👍
Watch Ray Manzarek explaining the genesis of this song while playing it on a Rhodes, and looking like your grandpa while doing so: ua-cam.com/video/3deQXzV-qTk/v-deo.html
You're the only one I've seen here mention the Rhodes organ. As a piano player I've always wanted to get my hands on one but haven't managed to yet. I have a software emulated Rhodes I've played on my big wooden MIDI Kurzweil and it sounds great, but playing a real one is on my bucket list. So is the Theremin. Always wanted one of those too lol
Hi Dani
Give their “Crystal Ship” a try. I think you’ll really enjoy it. Has some Elvis vibes.👍
This may have been released after he had died. It always had a haunting quality to it.
I'm working on a medley with Ghostriders in the Sky, called "Ghostriders on the Storm".
Remarkably similar chords.
He was alive but he was in Paris I believe
Can we have The doors love me two times(live in europe)?
black eye on the storm...
Riders on the Storm is so beautiful that even my easy piano cover sounds good, check it out! 💥🎹
A crazy genius!!..... Jim Morrison!!!
Dani, Michael 44 on your channel has been requesting 2 songs for several weeks now so can you please try to do a reaction to at least his one song titled " Summer Breeze " by Seals & Crofts or " Fallin In Love " by Hamilton, Joe Frank, and Reynolds soon as you can as these are 2 great songs from the '70's. I would also like to see a reaction to the Climax Blues Band and their 1981 hit titled "I Love You " as soon as you possibly can. Thanks.
Hi! I actually filled seals & Croft summer breeze today! I will be posting it tomorrow! Thank you!!
@@DaniAtkinson Thanks, This is much appreciated.
This song is an allegory for reincarnation.
Im sorry but tbh this song is kinda boring putting me to sleep
According to Ray Manzareck, Robby Krieger was playing his twangy guitar warming up in the studio, a 1949 song by Vaughn Monroe called Riders In The Sky. Jim then hears it, and says, "I got lyrics for that song." Ray says, "We can copy that tune. Let's jazz it up, and change the tune some." John Densmore, who about we do this beat?" Ray then says, "Let me do a different intro," and together, the DOORs came up with Riders On The Storm, and the rest is History.
Riders on the storm. A classic hit from the storm. Great. Thank you Dani 👍👍👍
If you listen closely, you'll notice that his voice is also whispering the entire vocal. Definitely gave his voice a spooky quality.
Iooking Beautiful. Thanks for the reaction.
Oh no! Feel better!
You really need to listen to "The End" by the Doors. then tell us how Jim Morrison's voice is "creepy and mysterious"
I almost cried seeing your eye, love you in bunches girl...mesmerizing reaction..
We are thrown into the maelstrom. Cross the borderlands. I am a guide to the labyrinth, Rm. 32. The green hotel. Thin rustling ghosts rise. I press'd her thighs and Death smiled.
Just hope the sound you heard was better balanced than what came across on your reaction; it seemed as though one channel was quite muted. Maybe, it's just me ( the price one pays for doing low-quality recreational "meds")😵💫
Jim is he lizard king🧡🌹🧡🤘🦋🖤🦋
Dani you are the BEST reacter on this new "Genre" REACTION TO VIDEOS on you tube. By far you are the best . Reacting to the Doors, most don't get the music like you do. . Listen to the lyrics of the song closley and maybe get rid of the guy that busted your left eye. Just say'in. You have quite the black eye right now WOW. The song was based on Billy Cook. The Hitch Hiker Serial Killer. I was part of the production back in 1969. Its fun to see young girls react to these old songs we made back in the day. Stay safe Dani, don't worry Billy Cook is dead but beware of the guy that busted your eye . Not saying he would be a Rider on the Storm
Hahaha! Thank you, thank you for those kind words!!
Black eye was a result of a skin tag removal!!
They have a bunch of hits Dani. Worth checking out a few others.
Certainly a mysterious and haunting song. The Doors were unique and awesome. I recommend watching the movie made about The Doors. I need to watch it again since it has been a very long time.
The book 'Nobody Here gets Out Alive' was good too, by Danny Sugarman, who was basically the teen gopher for the Doors.
Gracias por hacerme feliz escuchando mi grupo , siento una emoción brutal the doors forever , jim , Ray, Robbie, jhon gracias disfrutemos
I like the fact that you didn't try to hide your mouse. Stay real! Cool reaction. Might I suggest a song by "Bachman, Turner Overdrive" called "Let It Ride"? My humble opinion says it's their best song. If you've already posted it, accept my sincere apologies. Stay golden! 😎
One of my favorite Karaoke songs. Thank you Dani
👍
