Exactly. You can only help them if they want the help and they need to help themselves as well. Distancing yourself from that downward spiral isn't wrong. But as you said to take from them, especially a long time friend was very wrong. I've been there, but not with a friend, but with a sibling and a nephew. Drugs and alcohol played a huge part in what happened in her (sibling)life. Years of drugs and alcohol made her make bad decisions which ultimately led to her death.
My brother was heavy into drugs hard drugs and it made him steal from our mom his daughter video games system and money from me for a long time he got clean but it already cause him damage he got congestive heart failure he finally died last year before Christmas we couldn't see him before he died because of covid-19 he was in a nursing home

I’ve had roommates that battled both alcohol and drugs..was there for them through their worst. We eventually grew apart but still stay in contact with one another even after 15yrs - They both are doing well now and thank me for never giving up on them. We are all different, so I can’t judge the plaintiffs band mates .
I have been watching beautiful judge milian...I respect all that she does to make a true and proper judgment even when she has to make a "rough judgment"...god bless a wonderful judge!!
12 years of knowing a person, and the "please help me!" in the plaintiff's eyes said it all to me. His friend obviously has seen him go down the rabbit hole and tried to help him a few times. He was still using and his friend knew as soon as he got that equipment, he would sell it to get high again. Hope he gets clean.

I'm on 3 meds for hypertension, and they have never given me a "high". Clonadine is a sedative prescribed most often in hospitals, but it also doesn't really get you "high", it just calms you down.🤷♀️
