Fun fact: Because of the Gleeok Guts side quest, the Fire Gleeok southeast of the Gerudo Canyon tower is the only enemy in the game which has a special drop table for the first time you defeat it - the Gleeok is guaranteed to drop guts the first time you defeat it.
That's pretty cool
Oh wow! Interesting! Thanks!
Finally a Gleeok video that wasn't a clip of an expensive Zonai death machine... thank you
You're welcome! =) I did have one though
Also, one thing to note if you have clothes like the Lightning Helm or Zant's Helm yous still take damage by the Gleeoks but you won't suffer the secondary effects like dropping you items or freezing in place
that's good stuff too! thanks!
I'd add that the upgraded set bonus of the Flamebreaker set, Snowquill set and (I think) Rubber set give you similar buffs to withstand elemental effects.
Great video. I had no idea that King Gleooks had 12 000 HP, I thought they had 8 000 like the others. That'd explain why my beam emitter contraption was having so much trouble chewing through one's healthbar.
I have a few tips to add: if you hang back, it's possible that the sages will distract the Gleeok and hold its attention. You can actually walk around behind it (wide, so you don't get blown away by the wingbeats) and attack its tail. Sometimes it won't notice. Also you can flurry rush the tail sweep.
Second, 5-shot Savage Lynel Bow, Great Eagle Bow, and Zonaite Bow are great choices. Lynel is the strongest bow in the game, and the 5 arrows can hit multiple heads at once. Eagle has double the normal range plus fast draw speed, so arrows will fly twice as far and have a higher rate of fire. It's a great choice for stunning the Gleeok as it tries to fly up high. Zonaite Bow has the highest range of any bow once it's charged. Fusing rockets to your arrows makes them fly straight, and I THINK they have infinite range? Once the Gleeok is high up, you might be limited by draw distance making your arrows despawn, idk. If you can't see the red healthbars above each head, you might need to get higher if you want your arrows to hit.
5-shot Savage Lynel Bow + Fire Keese Eyeball + level 3 attack up can stun a Gleeok in one shot. Basic Keese eyeballs need two shots. I haven't tested extensively, but any eyeball that's 2 fuse power or higher should oneshot.
Thanks so much! Also, the strategy guide says 8000 hp too... but it didn't feel right.. so I looked it up.. so I don't actually know which is right. haha
@@100PercentZeldaKing Gleeok definitely has higher hp. Takes a lot more to kill it 😅
Omg watching your videos again literally makes me smile.
Yay! I love this! Thanks!
@@100PercentZelda you're welcomeeee
I have never once seen the Tail attack until this video. I always imagined going near them is a No-Go, So I never seen it before. Elemental Keese Eyeballs are amazing against the opposing elements, but elemental damage seems to be a bonus insteas of an instakill.
Yes! It was an interesting attack when I saw it
I always set up a fire by a boss fight in order to get bullet time -- dropping 5 bundles of wood + a fire fruit tossed in creates and updraft. Works pretty dang well and is a bit overpowered bc it stays lit unless something happens to break the bundles of wood. Accidentally cheesed the final battle bc of it whoops
That's a good strategy!
Thanks for the fun and educational video Nikko! As per usual your content is great and extremely helpful especially dealing with Gleeoks! Your the best brotha thanks again for all you do for us!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it! =)
Honestly these videos are so helpful they cover everything quickly and simply. Thanks! Also there are at least 2 more quests involving gleocks that I know of however they do not require you to kill them only to take a picture. One of them is one of kiltons statue quests and the other is a picture for a stable
Thanks so much! And you're right =( someone just told me
This was super helpful! Thanks! I was seriously struggling with the gleeoks!
Hi zoe
I use eyeballs on arrows and that’s pretty much all I do 😂😂
@@Prase841 Hi!
Yay! Happy to help Zoe =)
@@dxconnor yeah, I just kinda suck at the game and couldn't get a hit in 😂 I kept timing it poorly so it was barely 😅
Was there when he filmed this video 😂, great video Nikko!!
Yes you were!
Great video!!!🎉 There are 2 other things you need the gleeks for, well actually a picture of one. 1st in Hateno Village show a picture of any gleek at the dye shop and it will give you the gleek fabric, you have to start that quest first with a picture of a regular chuchu. 2nd at Tarry Town you need to show a picture of a king gleek (it might be any gleek, but I remember it being a king gleek) to Kilton to finish the side adventure "A Monstrous Adventure V".
So glad to see more videos from you and the detail on each of their phases is beyond helpful, thanks.
This is true! I completely forgot! Thanks so much!
Bro your like an unsung household gaming hero. super grateful for your content
Thank you so much. I appreciate that. Happy to help!
Thanks so much Nikko, this video really helped me
You're welcome. Happy to help! Miss you on stream!
@@100PercentZelda happy to tell you that I’ll be able to join the streams starting the 20th
Amazing guide! Thanks!
You're welcome! =) happy to help!
Gleoks became one of the most hyped boss battles to just ok after awhile
Lynels are by far the most fun boss fights in the game and hard to top
I can see that
Amazing video!
Salamat!
I always try to watch at least the beginning of your streams because in my time zone you stream at 10:00 PM!!
Thanks! Sorry I stream late!
I really saw the outfit I recommended at the stream! :)
Yes!
Nicely done, Nikko! My first encounter with a Gleeok didn't go so well. I didn't even know they existed -- I'd only been off the Great Sky Island for a few hours or so, but once I had the paraglider I thought I'd explore the Depths a little more. I ended up wandering into the Gleeok den. Needless to say, I became lunch. I'm a little better at taking them down now.
Have you ever taken one down while riding Mineru's construct? I tried it and became lunch again, but you've definitely got the skills to do it!
haha! That sounds like an interesting first encounter =P
thanks so much
You're very welcome!
Quickest way, when you have weapons for it:
Two shots from a 32x3 bow with eyes fused, then whirlwind a twohanded weapon (sometimes a third shot is required)
Run away
Repeat
Panic solution when you fail: Rocket shield + bullet time (+eye or wing fused if high up)
Style points for letting the gleeok fly high so it takes damage when it crashes down
That's a good way!
I didn’t know about the tail attack until this video lol
haha you're not the only one =)
Killin those gleeoks take all my resources 😎
Yes! Take em!
I remember I faced the one on the bridge it took me like 10 tries and I thought the drops would be better but it was a sick fight
Haha I bet it was! It was fun for me too! Mine was ancient columns
gleeoks! woo!
Yay!
Haha I just did my video of my True one-cycle King Gleeok. Well timed.
haha yes I saw
elemental keese eyes can be used more effective than just a regular keese eyes. Fire against thunder or frost vice versa. You can kill gleeoks with just bow/arrows with fused elemental keese eyes. Never let them take to the sky lol
thanks!
Both royal guard and ancient hero aspect armor sets need 9 guts for a total of 18 gleeok guts. That is several blood moons worth of king gleoks to fight.
End game I always got gleeok guts from the king gleeok in the gleeok den in the depths. I don't know if this king gleeok is always guaranteed to drop gleeok guts, but it always dropped them for me.
Fire Keese Eyes do extra damage vs Ice Gleeoks and vice versa. Aerocuda eyes are recommended vs Lightning Gleeok, as they do more damage than normal Keese eyes.
If you have a Savage Lynel bow (best Lynel bow) and +3 attack through gear or food you will stun all three heads in just 1 or 2 volleys.
When the Gleeok is about to get up after being stunned (his wings start to move) you run away, to stay outside the range of his wing flapping. Repeat with more arrows to stun him again. Done well enough he will not get any attack off vs you, nor get into his highground phase.
No bullettime needed when using eye-arrows.
These are great tips! Thanks so much!
I think gleeoks might be harder than lynels and gloom spawns, they just have so much health and you can’t flurry rush it and are forced to shoot their eyes while they’re moving around and juking you from like a light year away
After a while, you get used to all of them
The king gleeoks having a 100% chance to drop guts would've been useful to know when i was upgrading the royal guard armour😅
sorry i didn't make the video sooner... =P Now you know if you ever restart playing =)
bro thanks
You're welcome!
You can modify the final stand if you knock out heads before it starts the attack. Normally this makes the final stand less chaotic but in the King fight you can basically take out certain elements. I assume that if you leave the fire head alone, it'll fire the big fireball Flame Gleeoks do
that makes complete sense. That's probably true
Was hoping to also see armor choices that negate some of the elemental effects
I probably should have done that. Sorry! But thanks! Something for me to consider for next time
couple things I found interesting. my first gleeok went up into the air at half health, this may just be the specific fire gleeok, or may have been a glitch I am not sure. either way I am quite curious as to why this happened.
also you said the wings give weapons long throw, so did they buff the actual ability as well? becuase the modifier goes a LOT farther than the fuse.
I guess that's true
I really should let monsters live long enough to see these interesting animations...
That's how I felt! When I was researching, I was like "that's cool!" haha
I killed every single Gleeok without knowing of the tail sweep, and without knowing those techniques to get close to them in second fase, I just fused a wing or an eyeball to my arrow, bullet time for precision and the gleeok would usually die from fall damage
Me too! I only discovered them because of doing research for this video
What’s up Nikko
Hi pprasz
Hi @100PercentZelda
The Gleeok, seriously pay attention to it you're about to get shot by a fireball
U didn't add that the opposite element fused to an arrow will one-hit a head. Like a fire fruit fused to an arrow will one-hit a frost-gleeok head. If u use a 3x bow, u can do it with one shot. Same with ice fruit for a fire gleeok. Don't know about the thunder gleeoks tho
Electric enemies have no elemental weakness, the only thing that could kind of make sense is water, because water enemies like lizalfos, other than the electric, fire, and ice lizalfos are very weak to electricity.
Oh. Interesting. I didn't know, thanks!
Hey Nikko! Can youmplease make a dragon video? I watched Austin John's video but he didnt show the route for the Light Dragon which was really annoying, so im wondering if you could look into it and show the exact route of Link's dragony girlfriend?
Sure! I don't know when, but I will eventually
@100PercentZelda tnx sooo much Nikko! I'm being completely honest, I watch The Bread Pirate, ThornyFox, Your Average Hylian, AustinJohnPlays, NintendoBlackCrisis, ThomasGameDocs, and a lot of other Zeldatubers, and you're one of the most fun and helpful channels I've ever seen. Plus knowing you're a Filipino makes it more fun for me. I'm not Filipino (still Asian tho) but I was born and have lived my whole life in Cebu so I feel like I am one lol. It was so fun to watch your son cook Ginaling on your other channel! He's sooo cute!
how do you get that paraglider fabric
I don't remember! =(
If you are referring to the lon lon ranch one (the one with a cow) I believe it's an amiibo item
Hey Nico, I saw a UA-camr that haves max hearts and max stamina! Can you please give us a tutorial how you do the max hearts and max stamina glitch in Tears of the Kingdom? Please Nico?
really? maybe I have to find out
@@100PercentZelda It’s gonna be hard to find out.
despite being those of a monstrous, cyclopean, three-headed dragon creature, the faces in this thumbnail are less ugly and obnoxious than some that I've seen (against my will) from human youtubers. nice!
Thanks!
whats you microphone?
Elgato Wave 3
@@100PercentZelda thanks! i need a mic but i can't spend to much on it because i'm saving up for a wii but this one seems good
I didnt even know they spat out elemental balls. I just bullet time shot them, smacked their eyeballw, then again, again, again, and then final phase went in the air and again
Haha yeah, when making this video I learned a few things too!
I've already killed all gleeoks, why did I watch this?
Yay! I hope it was at least entertaining for you
Helooo
Hello!
My strat for everything in TOTK: Fierce Deity set + Banana food + 5x Lynel bow + bomb flowers. Sure it makes the game boring since everything dies to that, sometimes I need to feel strong and I return to this strat
your attack up food and your outfit dont actually stack your attack up buffs, so thats a pretty pointless addition to your playstyle. instead, id recommend just using fierce deity and opting for a different food buff or just not using one at all, since it saves a shitton of materials.
Haha I agree!
