Wow. ExpressLRS is evolving very quickly. Definately gonna try it when they'll support R9 Slim plus. EDIT: I just saw that they added support but no diveristy. This is AMAZING
ok so here's a tip for people who can't get the lua script to work.. there are some people with the same problem, and I bet they have the same problem. I tried several things, almost went crazy, flashed modules with stlink, then as a last resort resoldered the crsf mod with enamel copper wire and kept it as short as possible, before this, I used relatively thick silicone wire, always got the error counter running up, and no connection to the module with elrs, but R9m firmware worked fine.. but with the thin wire it finally works! nobody was talking about the wire affecting the link to the module, I have not read this in ANY problem solving, but it does work with thinner wire !

All works for me except the firmware flashing with via the FC with betaflight (have a Goku F411) , Why the VS compiler does not generate Firmware file for TX flashing ? , can you flash FW via the Taranis TX as external module ? how? Thanks in advance!
I've been following your videos and after seeing the configurator, finally took leap of faith and flashed one of my old r9 moduals and a reciver. Had a few issues, but figured them all out. (Set external to crsf, Load boot loader to the reciver before flashing express LRS (my fault)) love the passphrase and being able to bind to many moduals just by flashing the same firmware/passphrase. I don't have a lot of recivers, was wondering if it works on the r9mm ota recivers.

It is kind of better than Crossfire in many ways it seems. And will be better in every way if it keeps going in the direction it is going. The Devs are doing amazing work on it fo'show.

Hi Mark, is there any way to flash ExpressLRS to the R9 Stab receiver? i'm planning on switching to ExpressLRS and I fly a lot of fixed wing also without FC so I have quite a few of the R9 Stab receivers and it would be very annoying if they wouldn't work with my R9M anymore.
I am unable to complete the flash with stm adapter for my R9MX receiver. I get error 2 upload error 2 cannot connect to mcu. I've successfully flash my r9m module with stm but couldn't complete with receiver. Any advice?

And, as the old R9mm are now discontinued, the only option for buying more are the new OTA. Of course I meant for using them with the old ACCST module once flashed.

I have two R9 modules, one modded with a resistor, and a second one without. I successfully bound the module without the mod, and then tried to bind the modded module with the same receiver (r9slim+), but it won't bind, is this not possible? binding phrase is the same on both modules.

How well would this work with an r9 lite, the github seems to say it supports 50mW but that seems pretty low and I thought the r9 lite could go up to 100mW

Does the CRSF connection of ELRS also work in the same way with the R9 mini receiver (not the mm version) and a standard F4 UART? I have heaps of R9 minis I never used because of the inversion issues and fport and this could save them.

stock R9 ACCST and ACCESS user here. so this this is a third party protocol/firmware that work's on frsky R9 hardware, and is slightly better? is that the jist of it? seems like a lot of work to get it working, but perhaps it's worth it. I haven't had any issues with my stock R9 setup.

I just saw this on Frsky site, isn't this just straight up BS? Note: FrSky maintains necessary technical support for both firmware and hardware of discontinued products. Although these products will no longer be produced, they will always be replaced by a better version.

It is one packet per evey X number of transmission packets. TLM takes air time, so i would crank up to 1:128. In some cases though, you may bet RSSI warnings at 1:128, so you may need 1:64 depending on your equipment. Mine works on 1:128 fine though.

Yes, it is an OpenSource project. It works with the LoRA chip set which is used in the R9 modules.

868, yes.
Whatever can run Xfire can run ExpressLRS.

Yes and yes. Except for the 3 cables part. ExpressLRS uses four wires (like Croasfire).

Yup. It will all work. Updates of RXs will of course be through FC as shown with ExpressLRS.

Yes it supports only 50mW because FrSky use chip which is not rated to 100mW and devs decided to lower power.

Reduce Telemetry Packet ratio setting in ExpressLRS LUA.
@UAV Tech I did it 1:2 but also I have very short range ,all antennas are blue marked (900mhz)

Bro, u gotta try and remember when doing videos like this , that not everyone is as computer savvy as I are, and for certain not everyone is as comfortable with electronics and on top of that , adding computer know how, can really discourage people, and I'm speaking ,of myself at the very least, I was very excited about LRS, but now after 6 years of flying and having no body to help me but videos such as yours , I can honestly say, that I'm more lost, confused, and pissed off than I ever have been in recent history. I don't get why folks don't get that when u breeze right through everything, just like you are speaking to to your fellow peers whom speak the same language, and I'm referring not just to Country or Local,, but also of Computer skills etc., It simply turns people ;Ike , myself away from the hobby and Honestly makes me want to say the heck with it and quit the hobby, now I don't place all blame or even any bla, e on u personally , cuz if someone gives up, that their personal choice and or demons they need to over come, but in the future if you would please , please just try and remember those of us whom obviously arent as quick to pick up what you and many others have been blessed to adopt so easily.. I know I would certainly appreciate your maybe slowing down just abit and maybe explain why you are doing the specific things that you are doing while you go through the steps. I really am very irate at this moment and I wanted to just go off, but like I said b4, I can't blame u for my personal short comings. Hope that this reaches you well , and godspeed my friend!

Can u tell about TLM Ratio?
It is one packet per evey X number of transmission packets. TLM takes air time, so i would crank up to 1:128. In some cases though, you may bet RSSI warnings at 1:128, so you may need 1:64 depending on your equipment. Mine works on 1:128 fine though.
