To remove the wood in the concrete saw down to floor every 2 or 3 feet then hit it with a heavy hammer splitting each section off ,then use a wood chisel to remove the rest of the timer in to the concrete. Then this will allow you to patch the floor. A little time consuming but well worth the effort. Your making a great job in the barn👍
I agree, Brian. Neline, rent a concrete saw for a couple of hours to cut down to the concrete, so you don’t ruin a wood saw. Your video quality is very good using your phone.
Melina. Your barn is starting to look good. Frumpy looking will work. Are you going to insulate the underside of the hay loft floor to hold heat down too. ? Again, your barn is getting better and more usable. 👍 Please take care. Richard
You're making a lot of progress on the barn Neline! As for the wood you want to remove think about renting an electric jack hammer. It will save a lot of work over using the sledgehammer. Looking forward to seeing Max.
Neline, you can drill the wood, just above the slab, and put short lengths of chain (or nylon straps) through the holes and use small hydraulic jacks to lift the chain/straps (looped to link with itself) and the wood will lift, pull-out, or split along the drilled line. Either way, the revealed section of the wood will be gone. Hang plastic film/vapor barrier from the top, making a clean smooth line at the top of the wall. ThEN... go back and fix the rest of the well- no wrinkles.
I am guess that none of the original builders of that barn are with us today. Either way you are doing them proud breathing new life into it. They are a testament to our pioneers and too special to loose over time.
They’re not around anymore unfortunately but I was able to get in contact with someone who is related to the original owners of the barn. I’d like to make a video sometime about its history!
The barn is coming along! Great to see the insulation in and t he plywood going up. Love all that old wood! The barn has such a cool look to it. Can't wait to see more upgrades/updates/renovations. Cheers to you both and Happy Holidays!
My father-in-law had Spanish goats and his goats like climbing, so he placed some reels that he got from the power company in the middle of the yard and made some steps and they loved climbing on them
The gate you hung today looks great, but the gate to the opposite stall has it's diagonal brace going the wrong way. The diagonal brace on a gate should go down to the hinge post not up. This helps with weight transfer and stops the gate from dropping. Still a lovely video.👍🎄
if you have a local guy that has a sawmill probably cheaper to buy boards then plywood I would check with market place. For the Beam i would use chainsaw with old chain on it, even if you hit the concrete its an old chain and can be sharpened. Then hit the cut pieces with a sledge. You could also use a pickaxe to assist in the removal.
I would put mdf or whatever is cheapest for the around the windows above the sheet of plywood. Wood is expensive right now so find an alternative and if you want you can later finish it off with plywood when the prices become reasonable again.
Naline (sp) you would be far better off using a sharp chisel at the surface of the cement/wood bond to cut the wood and leave a level surface. You would probably have to chisel after the sledge hammer in any case as some of the wood would break off unevenly. Hi again from Ontario :)
For that beam in the floor I would try drilling a hole right at the concrete, put a chain through the hole and try jacking it out with, as some call it a farm jack, brand name Jack-all jack. We had one on the farm when I was a kid....they work great for many little jobs around the farm....one safety note, stay out of the way of the handle!!!
Hello from Montreal. The G.O.A.T. barn riseth !!! Baaaaahhhhhh !!!! Me thinks that wood runner on the floor is attached to the concrete below it. It is called a "Form Base." And the wood is usually screwed down into the concrete once it sets so if can be used for wall forms or a base for those wood forms to hold up the ceiling. ( I forget the proper name, Old timers is setting in) UGH. But you might just need either a sledge hammer, if they are easily removed, or if not, you might need to employ a jack hammer to pound them out of the concrete and remove them entirely. Once you remove the wood, you will still have the concrete forms below them. (For reference: Cole the Corn Star) He rebuilt a mansion from the ground up and is now building an underground movie theatre on his property.
hard to see what is there, but try chainsaw down from the top in say 1 foot sections or more on both ends and then break it off with a sledge hammer. You be able to cut the bottom down then and pull it up, otherwise leave it there and let it rot away. You might have to use a wood chisel to level the break at the floor level some what, just a thought. Do you enough old planks you pulled out to line the bottom of the new plywood up 2 or 3 so feet to prevent the goats breaking the plywood.
Question to Max : Dutch people are known for their directness or as some would say bluntness Did you notice this in Neline or her family and how do you feel about this?
Here are some questions that I have come up with you guys I thought they would be interesting ones. Who is your hero? If you could live anywhere, where would it be? What is your biggest fear? What is your favorite family vacation? What would you change about yourself if you could? What really makes you angry? What motivates you to work hard? What is your favorite thing about your career? What is your biggest complaint about your job? What is your proudest accomplishment? What is your favorite book to read? What makes you laugh the most? What was the last movie you went to? What did you think? What did you want to be when you were small? If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be? What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play? Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? How old were you when you learned Santa wasn't real? How did you find out?
It’s still standing but there’s no longer any water running in there so it’s not usable! It was honestly pretty sketchy having goats in there last year so I won’t be using it again either way.
I very this vidéo i am huge fan your Chanel but i got tow question is possible to have vidéo more long and can you make vidéo about your Sheep coral tour vidéo i Wanna know dimensions or were your fine your Idea about this exemple dimensions or sheep capacity Thank you. Éric from Montréal 🙂
If its wood get a reciprocating saw, longer blade that can bend a bit and saw it off at the cement. Then if you want it all out a chisel. Are you putting a sealant on some studs and the header and footers to hold the vapour barrier?
How does Max feel about the goats? And sheep? How did you two meet? What are some things you guys enjoy doing together (besides shopping at Rona or peavey mart lol)

I would saw cut the boards every 5ft then use the Skid steer forks to do a little pop out of the concrete
Melina.
Your barn is starting to look good. Frumpy looking will work. Are you going to insulate the underside of the hay loft floor to hold heat down too. ?
Again, your barn is getting better and more usable. 👍

The barn looks great! Drill a hole in the wood use a chain and the skid steer to lift it out.
I don't mind the video quality. thank you for taking us along with the renovation. 👍👍👍

Nice progress! It’s coming right along.

You are doing everything right. I am proud of you.
A very worthwhile project.
New Updates inside and the old look outside makes barn Looks great love it,
skill saw - right tool

@ADairyonthePrairie Ever time i see you in a video, all I can say is WOW what a beautiful young woman.
The Barn looks fantastic with the tin roof and the aged wood
Great to see the progress on your barn..😊
Looking forward to meeting Max.

Great job, I enjoy seeing your ranch improvements.
That stall won't look at all frumpy once you add straw and goaties!
My father-in-law had Spanish goats and his goats like climbing, so he placed some reels that he got from the power company in the middle of the yard and made some steps and they loved climbing on them
I would use 5/8" plywood min. On the walls. Goat would also go through 1/2".
Watching from Ontario.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂I think you meant good one side, 3/4 inch doubled up, screwed and glued, right?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We used puck board in our barn, love it for animals
Can't wait to meet your partner! Thank you for another educational and entertaining video.
Circular saw cut 4 to 6 in knock off a sledgehammer repeat

Great job Thanks for the video
Looking good!

I wouldn’t have thought of using a chisel, thanks for the idea!
To get the wood out - saws all plus grinder / sander.
The video quality is fine. Your barn is looking good. Merry Christmas from the Big Island
Looks good ….
Your video quality is really good
The old windows are just fine, you need cross flow ventilation anyway
Saw saw and a sledgehammer
You should put a cable and turnbuckle on the top of your gates to keep them from dropping
For the posts cut them off at the cement . Then you can use something to cut it out of the cement.

Do they have goat jackets like the calf jackets which might work. Love the progress of the barn repairs😊
Neline, the film quality was great. Was as good or better as your other cameras are. Barn is really coming along quickly. Well, for us at least. Lol
See zaw with 12-15” wood blade
10:56 Max what is the craziest Canadian food you like?
Corgated tin for the walls?
Barn is looking great. It'll be nice to meet your other half. What does he do for a living?

Push snow against the outside wall best insulation and free
Except that in the spring, the excess water will rot the outer boards even faster, and I’d like to preserve this barn as much as possible 😁.
👍👍👍👍👍👍 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Question to Max : Dutch people are known for their directness or as some would say bluntness
Did you notice this in Neline or her family and how do you feel about this?
🥰
Are you going to paint the barn red?
Looking good 😊 How did you meet ?
Thank you!
Hallo. Ik zou zeggen sla de bodem kapot van de grip, zand erin en dan beton erover. Dan heb je een mooie gladde vloer.
Groeten van Gert uit Nederland
❤️🙏🏼🐑

Het wordt mooi❤
question for max: can you milk a goat?
1/4 inch or 7/16 inch would probably work for you dear...
What happened to the goat trailer park ? Is it still standing ?
It’s still standing but there’s no longer any water running in there so it’s not usable! It was honestly pretty sketchy having goats in there last year so I won’t be using it again either way.
As a dairy farmer how much milk would you drink on a daily or weekly basis, do you always get it from the farm?
We go through probably a litre a day? Sometimes more, sometimes less depending on baking/coffee/cereal lol.
You may be able to rent a chisel tipped jack hammer and run it off your skid steer with hydraulic hoses
Take a chainsaw and cut the 4x4 down the middle then take a large pry bar and pop out either side.

👍🇨🇦
It doesn't need to look pretty, it just needs to work.
It can be both. It's some place she's going to be every day so it might as well look nice.
Where did you two meet?
I wonder how you two met and what he does for work? Is he a farm boy or from the city?
How does Max feel about the goats? And sheep?
How did you two meet?
What are some things you guys enjoy doing together (besides shopping at Rona or peavey mart lol)
What about questions on why you'll be ignoring questions about family planning?
Because that’s no one’s business but ours lol 😆
