Could this be used to dump trub during fermentation via the racking cane? Is it pressure fermentation compatible? I'm likely going to be buying your whole Speidel accessories setup in a week or so. Really dig your lifetime whirlpool/aeration paddle and figure this stuff must be good as well!

I think you are going to be hard pressed to get 100% of the trub out of the vessel, but yes the system will hold pressure. I would suggest if you are planing on doing the you are going to want some sort of PRV in the system just for safety sake.

Jaybird, I have a 30L Speidel and recently bought a used O2-free transfer device used from a HBT member and am planning on using it when I brew a neipa. Any advice on when and how to dry hop when using one of these devices? Is it as easy as just loosening and moving it out of the way while I add dry hops? Wondering how you do it while keeping O2 exposure to a minimum. Really looking forward to using this. TIA.

Yeah for sure. If you are wanting to do an O2 free addition of hops or "Fairly" O2 free using this you can be adding Co2 through the cane slowly and yeah just remove the lock ring, raise it up a few inches and drop in the flushed hops.
      Cheers

Wondering how your adding CO2 down the racking cane and liquid is coming out at the same time am I missing something?

Ahh yes the magic I designed into the system. The racking cane is 1/2" the opening it goes through in the cross is 7/8" the cane passes through the gas chamber going into the tank. The compression fitting and O'ring stop the gas from going anywhere else but INTO the tank. You'll see if you get one. It's kind of a cool design... If I do say so myself :) Thanks for the comment..
      Cheers

@@NorCalBrewing Super clever. You've got some really neat, grass-roots engineering things.
One recommendation, I would be to use a closed loop design to save on CO2. Once it gets going you can feed the displaced gas from the keg back into the fermenter. I use just enough gravity (2 or 3 feet) to get mine going and then the rest is done entirely with closed-loop CO2 pressure leaving the keg and pushing down the liquid in the fermenter that exits out.

Do you sell that set up with everything you use minus the speidel , keg. If so what the total cost ? I want all the hoses & the cam lock Thank you
