- First, an apology. I want to say sorry for the number of negative videos I’ve made recently. I feel like all I’ve done is grumble and moan about sim racing.
I’m fully aware I’ve been a little bit off my usual pace lately, so I’ve brought many of the recent problems upon myself. I’ve spent too much time complaining about hard luck, and not enough time questioning my own performances.
I want CR Sim Racing to be a positive, fun and enjoyable space. So I promise to keep the whining to a minimum from now on! And that starts today… I’m entering the rFactor 2 BTCC series on Low Fuel Motorsport, and I’m determined to end this miserable run. Let’s head to Donington Park, and DO THIS!

Good to see another Video from you Chris. And a positive one too.. literally had no time myself lately to do any racing, But i must get back into RF2 asap. and especially the BTCC on LFM..Seems they are gaining in numbers too, which is encouraging.... Stay positive fella :)
8.30pm seems to be the time to race, Nick. There were two splits for this one last night. It’s a bit on the late side for me as I prefer to race in the afternoon, but made an extra effort for this one as I really wanted to get a more positive race run. Sometimes the 6.30pm ones get 20 entries or so, but yesterday’s 6.30pm one was very quiet.
The irony of finishing a race in the BTCC without contact 😂. Glad you got to the end unscathed and enjoyed it Chris!
Haha yeah I was questioning my sanity on the start line when I realised I was relying on a BTCC race to end my run of crashes 🤣

Excellent! That’s good to hear… I always wanted my videos to inspire people to try racing, and my recent ones have done anything but that! So it’s good to be back enjoying it again, and doing what I do best… getting over-excited by make-believe motor racing 🤣
I'm not sure about that Chris I'm now considering trying lfm because I'm thinking we'll it can't get worse than the race Chris is having 😂

Ahh thank you David. I wasn’t planning to dive back in so soon, but I started feeling bad about all these negative videos I’ve made lately. I always wanted the channel to be a fun and positive place. So I thought I’d get back on, and not make another video until it was a fun race. Thankfully, I got one at the first time of asking!

Yeah, I wish I’d just gone straight to this combo at the start of the week, it was really good fun. I’m away this weekend so won’t get chance to run another, but definitely looking forward to another go next week.
Last night I heard some louds bangs, I thought it was just kids letting off some early fireworks.
In hindsight it's clear they were celebrating you completing a sim race without getting punted off.
It all makes perfect sense!
Haha! It might just have been the noise I made hitting the floor after passing out from the shock of finishing! 🤣

It is perfectly normal for anyone to have a bad streak, or a negative experience and get down on their self. It's not how many times you get knocked down, it's how many times you get up. Your race craft is awesome, and I have learned a ton from it. You can't control other's actions that take you out of a race. Just shake your head and move on. Great race here, keep up the good work!

Great run there Chris! You'll have to read my comment on your last race too. Much better racecraft in this one here, which on the start I thought oh my he is in a touring car event!? which are known for lots of close racing and door banging!! Congrats on your finish Buddy!!! Thanks for sharing!
Ahh thanks Walt, yes sorry, I didn’t get around to replying to a lot of comments yesterday, was overwhelmed by how many came in! But it was such a relief to have a ‘normal’ race again

Ahh thank you mate. Yeah it was a big relief to get this race in. The only reason I had a doubt over that overtake was because I was never really alongside him before the corner. But fair play to him, he left the space on the inside, and I left him the same amount of space on the outside. It really helps when you’re racing other people who are aware of their surroundings 😃 cheers mate

Nice result Chris. The racing there in RF2 is just a different class (no pun intended!) than the recent ACC smash-fests you've been subjected to. Also, at least from a spectator point of view, RF2 is far more immersive and realistic, and the sound is spot on. In fact, I think I'll jump back into RF2 myself this weekend :-)
It does look beautiful, doesn’t it. Particularly these BTCC cars, they look so realistic. If only rF2 could tidy up its own HUD a little bit! Looking forward to doing another of these next week. Good luck if you do get chance to race over the weekend. I’m off down to watch Argyle.

Yeah they’re really good fun. Even though I had such a bad time in my last race at Monza, it was really only one moment of madness that spoilt it. The racing in general has been first class 😃
@@chrisrogerssimracing I guess sometimes we all expect the field to drive like professional racing drivers who don't want to wreck the car or injure themselves in a crash. The grid is always full of differing abilities...and sometimes that goes very wrong..!! 😅
Nice one. Far fewer incidents in this race than in the GT3 cars. I haven't given rFactor2 a go in a while, certainly not since the GPU upgrade. It used to bog down quite badly on the old 4Gb card.
It seems to be a bit more stable, at least in this race it was. I had a couple of very small stutters, but nothing that affected my concentration. During my break, I wiped my PC and reinstalled everything, so I’ve now got rf2 with all the default graphic settings again. I’ll see how it goes, but hopefully I won’t need to dial anything down this time 🤞

Thank you John. I completely forgot that SR in rF2 is linked to your ACC licence in LFM. So the rating I gained in this race, has already promoted me back into GT3 Sprint eligibility in ACC. So that’s really positive. I was dreading having to start in rookies again. Will definitely be more ACC content coming 👍
@@chrisrogerssimracing had 3 races on LFM myself today and all went well, but similar to you I can have 3 bad races just trying to stay out of trouble, too many think they can win a race on the 1st lap
Great to see a race where you didn't get punted off at no fault of your own! And great to see you get a good result! No worries about the previous few vids. Someone needs to call out the shit racing by other drivers in LFM. Other UA-camrs have been doing the same.

You have been right. Unless there is a required level of skill then you have the right to be a little off without being killed. Is racing only for those with a specific skill level? In every race every racer has great corners and bad corners. No one is immune to getting out of sync on any given corner. That is not a excuse to dump a car.
Yeah, whenever I catch up with a car in front, I’ll always try to brake a little earlier, just until I’ve sussed out how early or late they brake, and what type of lines they take. That’s all I really ask of anyone behind me, to do the same. But I’m not nearly as competitive as a lot of drivers, so I understand why it’s not a popular opinion 🤣

Ahhhhh mate, I’ll tell you exactly why… because until I just read your comment then, I’d completely forgot about it!! 🤦🏻♂️ I did a community BTCC series last month, but it was only with the 2021 cars which didn’t have P2P. So I’d completely forgotten that was a thing! What a buffoon. Thanks for the reminder though… I won’t forget next time!

Great job! I think Im the one going into this deep, negative rabbit hole now - My fanatec starts to disconnect again (just ruined my 8th position on 30 car grid, 45m mount panorama). It's so frustrating trying to race and get your (and others) results ruined, and since they wont accept 100% refund - I have no other option than to go back and forth with their customer succes. Because of those issues, I'm basically on my lowest safety and elo ranking now with 0 drive to this sport...
Oh no, that’s a nightmare. I feel for you, I have friends who’ve fought a constant struggle with kit playing up, and it’s so frustrating. I hope you can get something sorted soon mate 🤞

Quick question what time did you find a full grid on rf2 ?
Hey, so this race was 8.30pm UK time. That seems to be the main slot that attracts the entries. There were 2 splits for this one, around 36-38 entries. Sometimes the 6.30pm race can attract 18-20 entries, but not always. At the moment, 8.30pm is your best bet.

Haha this is true! I really like LFM and definitely recommend the rF2 races… they desperately need more participation, as it can be difficult to find a full grid. I felt bad about the last video as I didn’t want it to be directed at LFM in particular… we can all experience bad races in any sim or platform. Cheers mate, good to hear from you 😃
Gteat combo, BTCC at Donnington on RF2. It has its problems rf2 such as questionable optimisation, but when its dialled in it's bloody great!!!We just need an official knockhill track. Great stuff as always Chris. Up the aces!!!!!
Yeah, rF2 is always likely to throw a wobbly at any moment! I wiped my PC the other week and reinstalled everything from scratch. So far, it’s run very smoothly… Are you heading to the Cardiff GP in a couple of weeks? I’m very tempted to go
@chrisrogerssimracing I've still never been, I'm very tempted. It's just the distance. The atmosphere is supposed to be epic. Would be great to see Dan and Tai going at it full tilt. Plus Bartoz is on another planet!!!!

Cracking combo, I must say. Always tricky to hit the apexes and stay off the grass around the back part of the circuit
