I thought I would make a full tutorial on the Nvidia control panel and also the geforce experience as I have been requested quite a lot for some odd reason to go in-depth as to what all these settings do. Though this is a video that I have been meaning to do for a while so hopefully you guys enjoy it, although it is quite long it will explain things like what is pre-rendered frames etc.

Hi There!!! Thanks for your video...A quick question...I bought lately an Alienware 15 Laptop with i7-6820HK and GTX980M GPU, 256SSD and 16GB RAM for video editing. Surprisingly the PC is editing video faster with it's integrated GPU than with the GTX980M Video Card. I tried changing settings in NVIDIA Control Panel as per your advise, but still the PC is editing slow with the GTX980M Video Card. What is your advise...what should I do to edit video fast with GTX980M Card?...Thanks

Thanks these setting work for me. Playing fallout 4 my fps went down to "ONE". At the start of the game my fps is 60. With these new setting the game start with a fps 120 or better. Now I am seeing 90,80 . Hasn't seen 60 yet. Thank again...Danny

+SunSon29 well you are in a laptop probably then, and you most likely have an intel supporting your monitor, you can do the same edits in the intel monitor settings
Does "let the 3d application decide" mean that the quality of the game would depend on your in-game settings, if so, why would you even use the advanced 3d settings in the first place?

Bill Nguyen Yeah giving it a run atm, they are VERY good for the money, and man are they comfortable, why Philips didn't implement this design on the X1 and X2 I have no idea, but still soundwise they are not an X1 lol.
Tech YES City - PC Tech and Gaming Channel I made a good choice picking them up then haha. I saw it first on Massdrop but Newegg had it for cheaper. After I bought them, Newegg made it even cheaper at $50 (damn it XD). How is the mic working with the headphones? I read a review on Amazon that said it didn't work so I haven't gotten it.
anisotropic filtering 16x helped so much in horizon zero dawn a console game came to pc yeah it did help a lot actually

i ve subscribed yr channel, need some info,if i configure nvidia control panel in advanced 3d settings for a specific program , will i have to check "use the advanced 3d image settings "each time i load that game or even i check "let the 3d app decide "?
i mean if i leave the settings as "let the 3d app decide " and even then my configured settings for the specific game in advanced 3d image settings ll be loaded when the specific game ll start?

nvidia has mentioned this in their advanced 3d settings menu " the overrides ll be used automatically each time the specified programs are launched "is it right?
You should revisit the settings and make an updated version of the video. It will get a lot of views and probably help a lot of people since they have rearranged, added and removed some things and maybe show how to properly activate g-sync if you have such a monitor around for a allround video.

With my G1 970 I use DSR x4 on a 1080p HDTV when playing any DX9 game. It looks amazing. I used to be able to assign the DSR by each game, say Risen, but now it's only available in global settings.
Hi, NVIDA Manage 3D Settings popped up on my computer, at the bottom there is a restore button. Can I go into the control panel and delete all of NVIDA or does somethings run on NVIDA?The message I got was this: You can change the global 3D settings and create overrides for specific programs. MFAA IS AMAZING. I messed with Nv alot. Messed with LOD and Transparancy for BF3 and a few other games. But MFAA is a huge deal.. I have my Quality to High Quality. It helps in some game to make them look better.

I have my pc (GTX970, FX6300) hooked up to a 40 inch samsung tv (UN40EH6000). It runs at 1680x1050 but *its 1920x1080 full HD TV*. How can I set the control panel up to have it run full HD and fit properly on the screen? (I used DSR once on the desktop and some things were off-screen) Also is there any settings you would suggest turning on for my setup? I know I should get a monitor but I prefer a large picture.
Travis Budke GPU is HD capable. Check! I set the resolution to 1080p. My taskbar is still off screen.
There is a setting on TV's called overscan, can't remember if its supposed to be on or off. Have a play with that though, let me know how you go.
some modern HD TVs use a bit of overscan on inputs like a pc to prevent artifacts at the edges of the screen. Look for a "Game Mode" setting on your tv, turning this on for this input will remove the overscan and everything should fit on the screen just fine :)

Before you upgrade or install gpu driver's , run guru ddu to clean all gpu junk, then you will have a nice clean drivers, just my opinion.
my monitor can go up to 75hz is it worth it? didn't notice much of a difference

If you have a Gsync monitor set V-sync to G-sync and turn the ingame vsync off else it will overwrite it.
I'm running sli gpus ..I was wondering if changing sli rendering mode should be changed from nvidia recommended or change it to single gpu/force alternate frame rendering 1/force alternate frame rendering 2?

Was wondering about DSR factor setting. I got brand new msi 4k laptop with gtx 1080 and i do plan in future to do video editing a lot for my youtube chanal, wich option i should choose?? For example you gaved for 1080p that need to be 2x but 4k does it mean i need to set 4???
What if I have a switchable GPU, would it make a difference if I chose power management mode to prefer maximum performance? & also I use a laptop i7-2670QM and GT 540M wouldn't it be better if I let PhysX to my CPU?

Thought we adjust all settings in game options menu. Does making adjustments in the Nvidia control panel override adjustments made in game or vise versa?

Depends on the adjustment, most settings are meant to enable a feature in the game that the game didn't have such as Ambient Occlusion or Anti-aliasing (for Dx9, if a Dx10 or later game doesn't have MSAA then you're out of luck unless the game has a Dx9 mode) and are meant to be enabled in a game-by-game basis (IMO). Some settings don't conflict though, like Anisotropic Filtering for example, using both gives you the best of both implementations though the Anisotropic Filtering in the Control Panel tends to do a better job than what comes with the game if you really want to choose one or the other. I remember Skyrim in particular looking noticeably better with the Control Panel's AF as opposed to the game's.

Thank you for this video. .... I like to use Nvidia Control Panel antialiasing at least 4x in old games, it makes a great difference. .... Many of the old games, such as Dark Age of Camelot does not have an antialiasing setting. .... It is a pain to switch back to Application-Controlled for newer games every time I go from old to new games, but I do it.

Hey i had a problem when in games when close to surfaces, when i moved in game the colours around the edges of the textures would go green red and blue, and would sometimes duplicate, do you know what setting this directly effects. It happens across all steam games, with my specs being ryzen3 1300x and a gtx 1050. (also if watching videos of the game on youtube or other video playbacks, the same thing would occur with the closeup textures outlines changing colours and blurring) Thanks

If I turn on ambient occlusion to quality, anti strophic filters 16x , all textures to quality, then can I expect a good 70+FPS and amazing graphics quality? I’m using rtx 2080 triple fan zotac... I’m afraid cause if the FPS is would be lower than that...

On manage 3D settings m,which setting deals with fps?I've tried different settings but the fps ends up either too fast and a game can't keep up or 2 slow and there's lag.Pro evolution soccer 2018 either plays with certain control settings at 51fps(too slow) or well pver 100fps(too fast)any way it can be balanced to round 60fps?
Is 3D Vision, SterioScopic gone completely? I have a new 3080 and last all my 3D gaming on Steam. Are there any work arounds for the 3080's?
Nice video but I wish you would have went into a little more detail on what each settings actually does rather than a run down of your settings. Also unless I missed it in your video, I think you forgot to mention what you set the DSR smoothness too if you enable DSR - Factors. Tech YES City, If you turn on VSync you might want to turn Triple Buffering on, it makes the game smoother, try to benchmark it on VSync dependent games like Skyrim.
Sir i want to overclock refresh rate to 1080p 60hz 3d which is limited to 1080p 24hz 3d please tell me the settings in detail because i am new to this my graphics card is nvidia 410m and it is hdcp compatible. Ive installed the latest drivers for gtx410m i watch 3d movies from laptop to Sony 3d tv through cyberlink powerdvd 15 i set the nvidia resolution settings to 1980x 1080p 24hz when i play the 3d it's revert back to 23hz which gets stuttering please help
I have bad draw distance in every game, like the textures pop in when I'm close (go away at the same rate as I'm walking away) Do you have ANY idea what causes this? It's software related because it happened with my old hardware as well as my new hardware.

I have a question. Do the setting utilize their own AA, AF, etc. or are they just deciding whether or not the AA in the game is turned on? Let's say the in-game AA is very badly optimized. Would it improve frame rate to override inflame AA with the control panels AA?
