I have 2007 GL450. Now 164k.Everyting works, Loads of room in the 3 rows of seats. Replaced front air shocks, repainted left rear fender (clearcoat was coming off). Looks great, pleasure to drive. I use liqui-moly in the engine coolant and oil (just me). Highly recommend Michelin tires.
The chances of a GL class owner actually going off road is pretty small. True, but great in bad weather, snow, or towing.

I kind of found the black with the earthtone interior kind of odd combination, but it is nice. Mine is gray with black-ish interior and dark gray.

Pretty funny video very comical. This came up because I’ve been watching a lot of Mercedes videos. I bought a 2015 for under 20,000 this last year and it looks very similar to the one there’s very little difference. I need more technical help. OK this is there. How do you do it type of stuff I just figured out how to lift the Back. I kept pressing buttons, but the liftgate would not go up but I finally figured that out. This thing has more stuff to figure out then I have time for. I tried numerous times to hook up my Pandora and Bluetooth off of my phone and I did it twice by accident and didn’t know how I did it but now I know how I did it. I finally figured that part out. I do get good gas mileage on this car though I have to say.

My dream car. I love the 2013 year. I think the interior in the new mercedes is very messy and overall bad. The 2013 mercedes benz are much better!

Her husband doesn’t even have to ask how much things cost, he just tells his personal aide to order things. That’s because he and his wife operate a business that grosses over one billion dollars a year in sales. The owner, a woman, is worth over $92 million dollars, in personal wealth. She takes her top sales people to Las Vegas each July, on her dime, and she personally takes $500,000 in cash to gamble at craps and other tables. Her kids drive Mercedes and Porsche’s. Get my meaning? They buy, without question. Why? Because they can. I know, it’s sickening and stupid. But you know the old saying, if you have to ask how much, you probably can’t afford it.

Three years ago I bought a 2009 ML 350 with 110,000 miles on it for $14k. I had for almost 3 years put 55k miles on it. Cost me $700 for basic service. In fairness it needed $600 of repairs had I kept it. Ran like a tank. Comfortable solid and damn nice. My point is people who say how much these cost to maintain either just repeat what others or they buy one without doing their homework in terms if service records from previous owners. They are not Fords. They cost more. They are also a significant upgrade in terms of comfort and quantity. But it requires people doing some homework.

Nikola S, I own a Mercedes, and I’ve had a few. In my experience, any car is unreliable if you don’t maintain it. Yes, there are the occasional factory lemons, but overall, cars built today are very reliable, provided the are properly maintained. There are maintenance schedules for a reason. You don’t always have to use the dealership to maintain them. I only use the dealership when my trusted mechanic says he’s too busy, or not able to get the job done in my time constraints. By and large, I do oil and filter changes myself. I even recently did the replacement of the crankshaft position sensor, when I looked on UA-cam to see what was entailed. The part was $25.00, and I did it in less than 30 minutes, saving myself over $600.00! So, as you can see, it’s easy to do your own maintenance, it’s cheaper to do the easy jobs yourself, and it’s important to keep up your vehicle. By the way, that crankshaft position sensor went out at 169,430 miles. And it took 15 years for it to wear out. I also did all four air suspension struts and airbags (air ride) myself, at a cost of $1900.00, saving myself the labor cost of over $3500.00 that would have additionally cost me at my local dealership. Spend $5400.00 at the dealership, or $1900.00 in my driveway? It was a no brainer. It’s also the cost of Mercedes Benz ownership, or the cost of luxury and status.
It's as you say really the cost of maintaining any vehicle. Think about what a vehicle is subjected to: outside, bad roads, every day use. People parrot what they hear and most have never had an original thought in their lives. I dropped about $7,000 into my '95 Toyota T100 in the last 5 yrs. Does that qualify as unreliable? Needed a clutch after 219000 miles all nyc driving. Needed front end parts. Now it's good for another 25 yrs. And I don't pay this ridiculous, exhorbitant tax on cars in Connecticut of around $900/yr. Costs me $20. Good answer but wasted on a pebblehead.

2013 and 2014 were V8. They went to the V6 in 2015.
