How To Make Khoresh Gheyme!

  • ou’re gonna absolutely love this gheyme recipe! One of our favourite, most decadent stews!
    Ingredients-
    1 lb. boneless beef chuck
    3 tablespoon avocado oil
    1 yellow onion sliced
    ½ teaspoon turmeric
    4 cups water
    ½ cup yellow split peas
    6 oz. tomato paste
    5 dried lime
    3 bay leaves
    salt & pepper to taste
    1. Partially par-boil the yellow peas them for about half an hour, then drain and set aside.
    2. Next, sautee the yellow onion with in the oil over medium-high heat, until they are translucent.
    3. Add in boneless beef, turmeric, salt, and pepper and sauté meat until it's brown on all sides. Add water and allow it to boil for 1.5 hours.
    4. Meanwhile, In another pan, Fry the tomato paste in oil, salt and pepper and add split peas, set aside.
    After meat has simmered for a while, add the yellow pea tomato paste mixture, dried lime, and bay leaves. Simmer on low for 45 minutes.
    5. Serve stew warm over rice, top with shoestring French fries.
