    MY RECOMMENDATIONS: I'm not sponsored by any of these companies. My recommendations are based completely on my personal experiences over the past 10+ years buying and playing keyboards such as Casio, Yamaha, Kawai, Roland, and others.

    I recommend kawai es920 above any of those mentioned providing you have funds for one. Built in speakers are better than they should be and action is very fast/virtuosic. You should aim to get a dp with triple sensors also, most are now. The es920 has counterweights, although it's still a folded action, unlike mp11se, which has the nicest feeling action, but actually probably not as fast aa es920 which is cheaper and has built in speakers and weighs half as much.

    I bought myself a Master Keyboard on ebay for 60$ as a first "piano" to check if, after playing the guitar, this instrument was something for me (and yeah, this was a quick "well, why not" decision). I didn't want to waste 1000$ for an instrument i wasn't interested anymore weeks later. There's nothing wrong with buying cheap first, if you know the downsides. Either buy something more expensive real soon, or at least not having wasted that much money on an instrument which only catches dust. It's also hard to know whats important for yourself, if you're an absolute beginner. This was a way to dip in my toes, and some months later, decide what's important for me. I got a used Roland after that and now i'm playing a Casio PX-S1000 for 2 years, which i love.

      I've recently purchased a 61 key keyboard to see if I stick with playing it. Took piano lessons in my youth, but didn't stick with them which I do now regret. If I do stick at the keyboard then I'll splash out on an 88 key digital piano, but even then only costing up to about £1000.

      I also have a 49 key midi controller and it's great for music production with DAWs when I'm on the go. But it'll never replace an 88-key keyboard for me. Even 61 is too small and frustrating when I can't reach the octaves without using the octave switching button.

    Not sure if the guitar center you were at had the FP30x but I would recommend that one! I've been playing for just under 2 years now. (not as long as you of course!) but I love it. $750 brand new, weighted and graded, velocity-sensitive. Built-in metronome and speakers. Plus a feature most seem to lack is a 3.5mm jack and this one has it on the FRONT of the keyboard. Yes, this seems small but it's such a convenient design feature that goes overlooked even by more expensive boards. I live in an apartment so having easy headphone access is crucial.

    Funnily enough, the last three options for digital pianos were all the ones I was considering to buy. I actually just bought a Kawai ES920 recently. I was tempted between the Yamaha P515 and the Kawai ES920, but I chose Kawai because I love the sound of Kawai pianos. I didn’t hear about Kawai until a few years ago, but when I heard a Kawai K Series upright piano online when I was looking at upright pianos then (I forgot why), I _immediately_ fell in love with its sound and will always completely remember it. I _am_ classically trained, which is probably why I love its sound. I was thinking about the Kawai MP11SE, but I just wanted a really good quality digital piano that I can play around with instead of a digital piano with extra options that I will most likely not use. Even though it may have a better keyboard action, I decided not to pay more money than I really needed for a good digital piano, so I chose a Kawai ES920.

    • @WeAreOnePiano
      @WeAreOnePiano  2 роки тому +4

      I have both and I’d say while the MP11SE is more realistic, the action of the 920 is definitely better than most keyboards and it is lighter which gives you more control! Congrats on your awesome new keyboard!

      @@WeAreOnePiano Thank you! I opened the box two days ago and played on it for hours (I slept really good after that). I read the manual for a few several minutes before I turned on the piano. Whenever I do that, a part of me feels annoyed because I just want to enjoy playing around with a new toy and be happy, but I always read the manual first for any safety warnings and precautions just in case, like how I read the Nintendo Switch manual, and it said for people with pacemakers to not be within nine inches to it because it may not work properly. I would _not_ have expected that, although it would make sense in a way. I sometimes read the legal stuff, like the terms of service and privacy policies of things that I use, but I usually skim over them for anything that would apply to me.
      One time, I read the Code of Conduct for my high school, for the reason having enough time to and to bore myself with legal stuff, I saw weapons that were banned on campus included “Chinese stars.” I thought that it meant you couldn’t use Chinese celebrities as weapons, like you would just bring Jackie Chan to fight people in school. Then I realized that it probably meant shurikens, even though it has a Japanese origin but uses Chinese characters as kanji. It also said that firearms were illegal on campus (of course). I thought hypothetically what could be used as a lethal weapon similar to a projectile-firing weapon but not be classified as a firearm, and then, the random thought that electromagnetism is the second strongest fundamental force and has an attractive and repulsive force came into my mind. I thought I had a brilliant idea of an electromagnetic gun, but the first US patent of it was in 1919, and there is already a large amount of research on it as a practical military weapon. I had no idea they had existed before (I had only seen the word once while playing Halo but didn’t bother looking up what it was), and I thought of it when I was around fifteen years old. To be honest, I kind of feel relieved that I wouldn’t have to do that much research because I didn’t invent it, but it would’ve felt cool if I had thought of an amazing life-changing idea.

      V3xman The P-125 has a much better set. Of features than the P-45. The main thing they share is the GHS action. But connectivity, polyphony, tone generator and speakers are all better on the P-125. For those who can't afford a P-125, consider the P-121, which only has 73 keys, but is still a lot better than the P-45, though not quite as cheap. 73 keys can be an advantage too.

    I disagree on a few points. I’ve owned a fair amount of keyboards and pianos so here’s my takes.
    1 don’t buy Williams, it’s guitar centers brand and it’s cheaply made and sounds cheap. I owned one and after about a year things began to break and glitch. There’s much better options for the same or a better price.
    2 Yamaha, kawaii, Korg, Roland, and Casio are all great entry level piano brands and the higher end models are what I call “forever pianos” meaning they’ll last you pretty much forever and anyone of any skill level can enjoy it. Korg actually makes very good pianos however you have to buy their higher end products for that. As for my personal choice, I recommend the Casio Privia pxs1000. I am a little biased as this is my personal keyboard but it’s touchscreen, comes with an app, great speakers, it can record, multiple instruments and reverb functions and on top of that it’s incredibly small, slim, and light. It’s tough as all hell too. But other recommendations for Yamaha he made in the video will do just fine as well. Rolands electric grand pianos and electric upright pianos are some of the best instruments I’ve ever played. If you want a keyboard can do a million things and last forever go with them, however it’s very pricey.
    3 if you are able get an acoustic piano, it makes a massive difference; but keep in mind it costs a lot more than a keyboard or electric alternative. Craigslist’s and Facebook marketplace are great places to look. Also Costco is great, they occasionally sell Yamaha pianos way cheaper than piano stores. I’m talking like 5000 bucks cheaper. BIG TIP (gigity) if you’re gonna check out a piano from Craigslist or Facebook marketplace hire a piano technician or appraiser to come with you, it may cost around 100 dollars but trust me it’s all worth it. I got majorly screwed on a piano which had a fatal error which I didn’t notice while I was playing it and checking it out myself. The error costs 800 dollars to fix, all because I didn’t wanna spent $100 on a piano appraiser. Happy shopping yall.

    I have an acoustic Kawai and I've had it for 15 years. I absolutely love it. It sounds really really nice even if it's not been tuned in forever. I'm so surprised with how long it can last without being tuned, and this is coming from a person with perfect pitch. 🤩 Yamaha keyboards do sound very very nice as there's quite a few of them where I'm currently working. The keys feel great too. I've played a Yamaha digital piano that's ACTUALLY the size of an acoustic piano and the keys are weighted JUST LIKE one. It was very fascinating.

    I have the P45 and I love it, for anyone looking to pick one up though buy a separate pedal to go along with it, the one that comes in box with it is pretty crap, just a little weightless piece of molded plastic on a spring. I believe the 125 has the same pedal with it as well. If I were buying one now I'd probably go with the 125, back when I got mine though the price difference was a lot more, 125 is cheap now.

    • @1Raptor85
      @1Raptor85 2 роки тому +2

      @@AlphaMohid from all the pictures I've seen it looks like the 125 has the exact same pedal my 45 came with, it's usable, but it's just a cheap little plastic thing, very short, only about 2.5 inches long and it only presses down less than 1/4 inch so it's pretty easy to get your foot on it wrong and it not press down, not helped by the fact that it's so light it slides on any hard surface easily. Especially with my big feet I have trouble with the little thing. You can get a really good one for $30, easily so it's not really breaking the bank getting a better one.

    I have the Roland rd 2000 and it has some of the best action I have ever felt on a digital keyboard, at least for my preference it’s perfect. Wooden keys and all. The sound is nothing to write home about but I used piano teq 7 instead because quite a few of those samples are amazingly done. Actually, I don't know if you have already addressed this question about digital pianos (or perhaps even acoustic pianos). It seems that when you press on the keys, the key thumps are transmitted through the stand to the floor, and are heard very clearly by neighbors downstairs (if you have downstairs neighbors). I have a Yamaha 515, and my downstairs neighbor used to complain that I made his ceiling shake when I play my piano. Note that I always use my headphones. So they don't hear the music per se.
