Hello, It was fun to watch your video, I just did my M5OD-R1 in my '93 Ranger wiyththe same or very similar kit. Just wanted to mention, at about 13:30 you put the rubber washer inside; mine was on top of the big rubber boot, I think that's where it goes. Best wishes and you have a great family.
Thanks for the info! The kit instructions were basically useless but knock on wood it still shifts great. If we need to do it again I’ll follow your advice 👍👍👍
I was thinking the same thing. Exactly how he was holding it, like an upside down cup to fit over that small boot ring on top to help serve as an extra dust and dirt seal to the inside of the shifter....
love the video just got my self a 92 ranger. I am looking to change the shifter arm or be able to put on a custom knob to be higher and closer to me any recommendations ?

Hey I’m having a hard time finding the gears in my 1990 Ford F-150 with the 300 straight 6 and 5 speed. Shifter is extra sloppy and impossible to find any gear
I'm always looking at the Reagers to get my information on so I can get the work done on my 93 Explorer Sport their is no other information on the the explorer.
That's basically the same situation this truck had, unfortunately a few months later 5th gear totally blew up and it wouldn't shift into any gear. It went to the scrap yard 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻

@@JohnJames. if you have a lot of slop in the shifter you probably need bushings 👍👍
@@116falconer wouldn't say slop. There's noticeable engagement, like it doesn't feel smooth

It felt like new👍👍👍 but 5 months later he lost 5th gear, that has nothing to do with the repair it just sucks.

How do you remove the shifter knob?
You made the mistake of putting that seal on the bottom. It is now down in the transmission. It should have gone on the very top .!
