August is in his early 20's. This is a really hard time for most 20 year olds, between trying to get your life together and figuring out who you are. People call August crazy, saying this and that about him. But he just puts his feelings in his music.

The truth he speaks in this song is a real reality check. I remember growing up wanting to be a teacher and that's what I went to school to do. Nowadays these kids don't dream at all and if they do it's dreaming of being famous. But when you think about it, it's not their fault. Society plays a HUGE part in this by glorifying the lives of a handful of people in large doses. Even in school, teachers (even me) no longer talk about career choices and alternative possibilities but that's because the curriculum approved by leadership (government) stresses more on passing these standardized tests instead of nurturing and shaping the minds of our future into believing that they can be anything they want to be. So blame comes from so many angles that this problem isn't as simple to resolve as we would all like it to be. Glad a celebrity like August is bringing this to light.
