In this video I am waiting on parts so now is a good time to finish off some loose ends that I have not got around to doing. - Авто та транспорт
Your welding is getting so much better every video
Thanks Mate. I feel like I am definitely getting better. Thanks for noticing
Sweet job
Cheers Mate
Mate, i enjoy watching your build. You are being very honest with what your doing and not trying to be a teacher. I am a metal fabricator with over 40 years experience, with your guards, you could put them on your flat work bench and ease them apart increasing the radius of them until they fit the way you want. It will save you mucking about exchanging them
Thanks heaps mate. Just trying to share how I do things and how things can be done without claiming to be an expert. I think I'm handy enough to get by. The guards I was thinking of doing that but i dont want to damage them and it not working. Then I cant sell them
Can Highly recommend the billet works column mate the wait was well worth it. I went with the hq style and put the dipper on the floor and wiper switch on the dash. Loving the build series too mate 🤙
Thanks Mate. I could not help myself and ordered one about a week ago. I ordered the same as you with no dipper or wiper switch.
With regards to the steering shaft and uni clearance, you can put a 6-10 mm spacer order the drivers side mount, sandwich between block and mount, and that will get you around the concerns, without having any detrimental effect on either the exhaust, steering, or aesthetics. Enjoy seeing the progress 👍
Cheers for the advice. That makes sense. I think the space is ok for the time being but I will keep that in mind.
Great job Sam 👍🏻
Thanks there Big Al
She's looking mint, keep up the great work!
Thanks heaps Mate
For the steering bracket, I was given a 90degree one coming of the upper control arm. The steering Shaft then goes through the "eye" that is vertically mounted to the 90degree bracket. Looks better. Can send photos.
Cheers Mate. I think I know what you mean. I might look at trying to come up underneath.
Nice work, steering bracket will move in or out, when you get front end alignment done just a thought
Thanks Mate. There should be enough adjustment in the Heim joint. Otherwise I can cut the boss slightly to allow for more.
I love following your build and the fact that you use a tripod for filming. (or at least keep still). If you are going to do anything with the door locks I would definitely go with a proximity lock kit. Being able to walk up and open the door or walk away and it unlocks/locks itself is the greatest thing since the invention of the steering wheel IMHO.
Cheers Mate. Glad you enjoying the build. I use a camera gimbal. It keeps the footage looking smooth. Proximity locks aye. Im guessing that just connects to your phone?
@@ShenkeGarage Proximity lock connects to your smart key. It detects when you are close to the vehicle. The door handle has a button so that the door unlocks as you open the door with your key in your pocket. When you exit the vehicle and walk away it detects that the key has left and it locks the vehicle automatically. Doors can always be opened from the inside regardless - for safety.
You can buy an aftermarket kit for this but I have not had to do that myself because I currently don't have any old cars. If I was doing a full restore I would definitely look into it.
Walk up to your car and open it. Park you car and walk away. Just magic!
Yes been waiting for this 👌 she looking good mate good work
Thanks heaps Mate
@@ShenkeGarage no worries mate can’t wait for the nexts video and can’t wait to see it when your done 💯
Use hidden door locks and flat body door handles!! Will look smick and as one other comment said maybe put your bracket for steering shaft up from underneath. Would look better and less messy especially when they have to do steering alignment
Will have a look at trying to bring up from the bottom. Not sure if there enough room but might try come up with something
Mate, coming along nicely. I'm planning on going the astra pump too, neaten's it right up. Bracket doesn't look that bad haha. Love your mod list. It's looking mint.
Cheers Buddy. I think the Astra will be a good thing. The bracket is wierd but maybe if its black it might blend in
Hi. Great job you are doing. After doing a wb style side a few years ago I always though I’d like to a tonner. Thought a tray made out of tube would be great. Similiar to what Nextgen revamp did behind the cab on their tray build but around the whole tray as well. Nice curved corners etc. just a thought for your tray and different to the common sqare frames.
Thanks Mate. I have seen it done before with the round tube tray. Not really sure if I like the look. It defs is different
i would check with your state rego laws regarding the shaved door handles and locks some states won't allow them due to access in case of accident to be able to open your doors
i know someone who did it and had to re install all the locks and handles to pass his engineer
is there no booster with that brake system ??
Yeah there is no Brake Booster needed with the wilwood master cylinder.
Hi mate.
The cars looking real smooth.
Scarynsteering, lol, I think your on the money by leaving it the way it is, any modification will create bump steer. If you where to modify it you'd be better getting the Castlemain rod shop 3k one, it's steering link control box is more to the side or close to the wish bone. And the end of the steering rack line with the bottom wish bone bolts so there is no bump steer. How ever you have mastered your one, well done.
Follow the smoothness, plus smooth is fast.
Your concern with the bracket and eyelet, conquered.
Lol.
Well done
Karl
With the electric steer, leave the converstion kit. Fit it your self and flange the ends, you'll be right.
Lol cheers Mate. Yes I think I will leave as is. It seems smooth enough and the angles dont seem to extreme. The bracket just looks weird but will do the job and strong enough.
Nice job on the sill 👍
Cheers Matey
Rego on anything modified is a big thing, you know that. Its looking great , few bugs too sort out. Coming along fine. Next episode......................
Cheers Mate. Few things to still sort but yes its getting there
Looks the goods mate. Engine bay is going to look very clean.
That steering bracket can you not run it from under the steering arm so it looks a little tidier and hidden a little?
The rear guards look very good tight. Could you not spread it slightly without too much damage to them?
Shaved handles will look good and as you said your car.
Cheers Carl. I think I might have a look into that and see what I can come up with or if I have room.
I kinda dont want to spread them and damage them and then I won't be able to sell them
Love the progress on your beast. Not sure if you remember, but I’m building my 16 year old boy a HQ style side, with similar mods.
What rack are you using? I’m trying to fit commy power rack, but rear fitted on chassis. Will need lots of tie rod mods on wish bones.
I’ve bought the mr mudguard guards too, for the tubs and 18x275. Amazing product.
Hey Mate. Yeah I remember. Im using the Mcdonalds bros racing rack and pinion kit. Hope your build is making good progress
TIG filler rod? I would've busted out the coat hangers, haha. Looking good Shenke
Lol yes prob could of used that but I will be using the filler rod for gapping aswell
Looking good mate, what size gaurds are they? I am building a very similar Hq. Waiting on mr mudgaurds 13x30 single radius. Been almost 3 month wait so far
Hey mate they are 12 x 26 I believe.
I think I will order the 12 x 28 double radius. I dont think the make 13 in a double radius
Hey mate, a bit off topic but we're the back of your hands tattooed and removed? If so why?
The build is coming along nicely 👌
Haha yes they were mate. Been lasered. It was for career purposes. Maybe I might get them tattooed again.
@@ShenkeGarage I figured that may have been the case. 👍
Hey mate, really enjoying watching your build. What type of carer are you? I had a work accident almost 3 years ago and lost my right leg below the knee and broke my neck c3-c4 fusion. I require 24/7 care. I have hydrotherapy tomorrow at 9 am and it’s 4 am now, can’t stop watching your videos. I’ve been doing a build for the last 6 years, it’s slowed right down since the accident, a mate comes to work on it when he has time. It’s a international scout with a blown 383 ,turbo 400 ,9” diff with true trac and air bagged. Looking forward to seeing more episodes, cheers jaimie
Your bottom 2 steering uni joints are out of phase mate
Haha yes good observation. I did not bother aligning them yet as it's all coming apart.
Love it 👌
👍👍👍
