I've since tweaked my process to use 2 dice of different colors at the same time: one for choosing the pile, and the other for selecting the card in that pile 💜💜
Thanks for doing this! I started imagining how one might use dice when you mentioned it in the other video. This is much simpler and straightforward than what I started cooking up in my mind!
Never bridge your cards, it ruins them. Just lay out 2 rows, maybe 5 cards each and then keep stacking on top of each other until all the cards are gone. Then stack them from top row to bottom row...SHUFFLED!!! Well shuffled cards are essential. This video is truly creative. Ty ❤
Love any excuse to pull out my dice! Haven't tried using them to select cards before, but it's a brilliant idea. I'm going to have to try this with my Shadowland Tarot. I love the artwork too much to part with the deck, but omg shuffling with it is awful. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! I have Duputryn's Contracture (Celtic Hand). I'm basically losing the ability to shuffle. This is a fantastic work around to the problem.
I found your video while searching for dice divination. I read tarot cards and was wondering how to use dice. I was excited to find your video because I also have a terrible time shuffling cards. I do the overhand shuffle but even that is cumbersome and I feel better if the cards are mixed well. Sometimes I place them all on the counter and mess them up instead of shuffling. However, I love your dice system for shuffling and choosing cards. I will bookmark your video so I can come back to it often. Thanks!
Hi Juli! 🌟 This is a fun and practical way to incorporate dice into card readings. Thank you for sharing. I personally know people who aren't physically able to shuffle the cards so I am going to share this video with them! 💜
Came to see the dice in action, stayed for the DIY felted mug 😍 Thinking of trying this with my Textured Tarot, which isn't riffle-able. Thanks for sharing!
I like this idea! I have small hands, so there are quite a few decks that pose a challenge when it comes to shuffling. I also play D&D, so I have plenty of dice to use!
Riffle shufflers unite! This is bloody genius Juli, I am so going to give this a go, so excited. I have a butt-load of polyhedral dice sets because I play a lot of TTRPGs like D&D. (Side note. I have the mass market Antique Anatomy; while lots of people slammed the thin cardstock, I really like it and it's one of my best riffle shufflers). x
What big dice you have Juli! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. It is much appreciated! I can see so many possibilities for many kinds of spreads and I like the addition of dice!! 😻💓💖 I have some small dice but clearly I need a larger set!
This was great and really inspirational! I bought a set of dice about a year ago on a whim, thinking I would start using them for divination, this idea is sooo brilliant since I have very small hands and it hurts to shuffle a lot of my decks! Thank you for this lovely video! 💛
I might have to get some D14 and D22 dice now 😂 color coded of course. This is a great idea for those oversized decks that my T-Rex hands can't shuffle!
Great video thanks for sharing. If it helps anyone use the term D20 when your searching for your dice. this will get you either a 20 sided dice, which will give you more card options but mostly gives you a set of 7 different sized dice based on the dungeons n dragons games. D refers to die the number refers to the number of faces. D4 4 sided die, it looks like a triangle, go with whatever number is the right way up on the face ur looking at. A D6= regular 6 sided die, D8, D10, D12 and D20 and a percentile die which u roll with a D6 6ix sided dice and add the numbers together. There are so many beautiful colours of dice, different opacitys finishes and face colour vs ink colour that you can pic ones that fit each deck if you want too. CHeck out some videos called dice collections to see the diversity of options around. n like tarot decks, its hard to stop at one.
Fantastic tips! I've been SO tempted to buy DnD dice because I've seen some BEAUTIES 😍. But given that I don't know how to play DnD, I felt like a complete poser 😂 Now I might have to reconsider based on your mini tutorial 🧐 Thanks so much!!
Omg I love this thank you ! ❤ i have a couple of decks I could definitely use that method with because they are either too big or paper cut prone cardstock! finally i am excited to work with them again thanks Juli! Xx
If people find a card deck difficult to shuffle, because it is too big, or they have issues with their hands, one easy way to mix the cards up, is to deal the deck into different piles e.g. 3 or 4 piles; so just deal the cards off the top of the deck, to a pile on the left, middle, right, and you can put different amounts in the 3 piles, then reassemble the 3 piles at the end and give them a very quick shuffle; then ask questions and take each card randomly from the deck, rather than dealing all from the top.
Wow! Luckily i don't have decks i can't shuffle (yet) but my friend and her husband played d&d in the past and I just had to message her during this video and be like "with some of the decks that I bought you (xmas presents) would you and your husband want to sit down and roll dice and tell stories with the cards to learn them better?" If they're down I'm totally excited, I did get her the dark wood which is hilarious because her husband totally looks like all the men in there, and I think it could work really well. 😁 I'm geeked 💖 I filmed and posted my borderless Grimalkin Tarot unboxing today and gave you a wonderful shout out, thank you again!🌹
What a fab idea for using the dice with tarot! So many people have beautiful DnD dice--makes me wanna buy some even though I don't do DnD 😂😂Looking forward to watching your unboxing--thank yooooou! 🤗😘
Nice system. I like the idea with the coffee mug too. I struggle with shuffling larger decks myself, especially oracles. I don’t riffle shuffle anymore because I have damaged a few of my older decks. Try shuffling the cards lengthwise. It’s a slightly slower motion because you’re cradling the deck a bit more, but it does help. Underhand instead of overhand works well too (Pulling from the bottom and placing on top). Also with the super thick decks, I will cut the deck and shuffle both piles separately. I am looking forward to trying this method with the dice. I’ve been looking for a way to incorporate them with my decks.
I cannot, for the life of me, shuffle decks lengthwise! 🙈 I do resort to shuffling in smaller batches when I must, but I find using dice to be more fun 😂 Hope you enjoy this dice method with your decks, Tamara! Thanks for watching 💜💜
I've since tweaked my process to use 2 dice of different colors at the same time: one for choosing the pile, and the other for selecting the card in that pile 💜💜
This is a great idea for decks that I spent A LOT of money on and don’t want to bend up.
Thanks for doing this! I started imagining how one might use dice when you mentioned it in the other video. This is much simpler and straightforward than what I started cooking up in my mind!
Thanks, Kenneth! I'm sure people could really nerd out with a more intricate method 😂I'm more of a KISS gal 😉🖤

I've heard about the unfortunate card stock of the Shadowland. Hope the dice method works well for you! 💜
Didn't know about this method... This is so creative! It makes it more fun in my opinion!
Now I want to try it 🤣!
It's definitely fun! 🤗 Thank you, Hyun 🖤🌹

I’m so happy that you found this helpful, Hyacinthe! 💗🎲
This is a great way to let ppl pick their own cards without letting them touch your deck too, or for phone readings 🕯️💜🕯️
Oooh, I hadn't thought about that! Great point, Kirstine 🖤🌹

Yayay! Hope the method works for you! Dice are fun, and they’ve saved a few of my decks from ending up in purgatory due their card stock🖤🎲

This is a great method Julie to select cards and because it goes up to 12,you can use the dice 🎲 for quite a large tarot spread 😉
Great idea! Thank you, B 💜🙏🏼
That’s a really cool method
Thank you!
Thank you so much. This really helps cause my dominant hand was getting "sliced" or abrasions from the larger volume decks.
Good idea juli! :)
