This was a fun tag! I am very interested to know how you ended up getting on with the Brian Froud deck! I will defend Llewellyn cardstock forever, I have never accidentally damaged one of my Llewellyn decks. Floppy cardstock is easier to shuffle so I’m less likely to damage it while shuffling!

Making my way thru my long-neglected Watch Later list. You know me, despite being a cat person I don’t have a ton of cat decks…I think only Tarot of the Cat People (which definitely counts imo), the Faeles Arcanae, and the new Cat Tarot from Kickstarter (which I’ve been using this month and enjoying). Oh and I also have the Magic Neko deck and another cat playing card deck but I don’t read playing cards so I really only have those for…well, playing cards. 😸 I don’t know why despite loving Adam Oehlers’ artwork I haven’t picked up that deck. It’s beautiful but I just have this feeling that it will be another in the long line of cat decks that I end up not using and passing along. No idea why, just a feeling. 🤷‍♀️

lol the Hanged Man was my card for January too and yes it 100% tracked. I’ve been doing so little that I’m even behind on tarottube as you can see by me finally watching and commenting on this three weeks late. 😂

that Spike deck, amazing and fun. There are some Studio Ghibli decks on Etsy. One is called Studio Ghibli and one called and based on spirited away. Also pleased I pushed you out of a box and you liked it.

Oh Jules babe, I wish I could reach through the screen and give you a hug. I'm glad that you have been able to carve out some space/traditions for your own little family, as a childfree couple over here, I get the expectations thing on that particular front. Having to navigate giref and the anniversary of the cause of that grief is so much harder at a time of year when everyone expects you to be happy. I hope you find a way through it and have the support you need. Sending you lots of love. xx

The helladays are hard, first anniversary’s of loss are hard, having to combine the two is just so much to have to deal with. Sharing that online in order to make space for people who might also be having a hard time is such a generous and kind thing to do, and is one of the many many reasons I am grateful I can call you my friend 💖 I haven’t decided what I am going to do for Xmas yet, but I do know things got a lot better in the last few years once I realised I actually can just say no to the things I really don’t want to deal with.

So with you. This time of year can really shine a spotlight on loss. I’ve been struggling with a couple of huge losses these past couple of years and for some reason the “helledays” magnifies things. Thank you for speaking openly about this and giving room for others to acknowledge our feelings of grief and loss. When the chips are down you really discover who your true friends are and it can be pretty surprising. Sending lots of love to you, Juli, and a big virtual hug. You’re one of my favorite UA-camrs even though I can’t stand the big eyed girl decks!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 thought I’d try to end on a note of humor.

Yes, Juli, I agree. My Mom's 3rd anniversary of her passing was on Saturday, the 7th and I have been a teary mess - it really hit hard this year. My family and circle of friends is so much smaller now. My Brother and SIL and nieces are close by but they go to Hawaii for Christmas every year - and my Sister and BIL live in Memphis, TN and can't travel out to California to see me (and vice versa) for the holidays this year so it's just gonna be me and Rob (by BF) LOL. And that's just fine! We're getting each other spa for X-mas and getting a mutual gift of karaoke machine to sing and carry on during the coming difficult times. :D By the way, when I lived in Atlanta - I spent many Christmas and NY holidays in Key West - loved it!! I agree - travel is so fun during the holidays. I think you are doing all the right things to take care of yourself and I want to support you in your journey. I'm sending you lots of love and hugs!

It's a really strange time right now. I am in a place where I kind of feel like I should be happy all the time, but I am not. And yes, the people who stick with us through the shit are real family. I am also grateful for the friends I've made in this virtual world... I hope it lasts. As Camelia Elias says, "Keep going."
