Oh how far the sport has fallen, I'm so glad, it was, the way it was, in the 80's, 90's and 00's absolutely a golden 30 years of incredible kumite, this is a hollow husk & shadow of Brennan, Otto, Pina, Aghayev!!!
@@yvngfuego8072 I love Shotokan and the JKA, although it's not my base karate style, I have huge respect for it, as one of the previously most successful local club's in my area (where I would do extra training) is a Shotokan club and member of the JKA, but even that club is hugely reduced in scale now and hanging on by it's teeth!
@@jasonmarquis5798 I concour t's been destroyed as a sport, by too many rules, over the top safety etc.... I mean fancy going from that jaw dropping final where Christopher Pina took on David Benattello (I think it was the European final roughly 20 years ago) to this utter dog's dinner!
@@GeoffVanDamage couldn’t agree more. I trained with Pinna a few weeks back. He’s a good friend of my Instructor! I also teach karate too. WKF has become like a game of tag/fencing. You just don’t get hurt doing it. Even their pads don’t allow people to make tight fists!!!
@@TranDuong-lm6qc it's awful kumite, here you have, highly trained blackbelts, scared to do anything other then lunging simple single moves, they don't try combo's, they don't work distance by moving forwards and backwards (just bounce skittishly on the spot) they don't try and control the area etc...etc.... honestly watch some kumite, from the 00's, 90's and 80's where the fighters went out to win, to really find out who had the best all round skills, rather then just not trying to loose, watch pina vs benatello, Wayne otto, Junior Levere, Aiden Trimble, watch Alex Biamonti's entire run through the Paris open in 2002 etc....etc....... now that's kumite
@@TranDuong-lm6qc Every example I gave, is official genuine international level kumite, along with the names I mentioned being the most reconised and highly accomplished in this specific sport for example - Wayne Otto 9x world champion from England MBE/OBE, Aiden Trimble also from England - The first international karate kumite fighter, to win the world karate championships in Japan, Alex Biamonti from France 7x European kumite champion with a couple of world championship wins on top too,, I know my stuff sir and to pretend I don't by trying to say, I'm talking about the wrong thing shows, tremendous ignorance on your part (no offence intended) but like I said research the sport and please don't make another such silly rebuttal, I don't need to name drop or brag about, my own achievements, accept to say, I'm legit!
I remember now that i hate this thing. 15 years of my life, to come on stage and tap points. Whilst i am not a fan of martial artists destroying each other's lives with injuries, kumite needs to be much more than this - it needs to be applicable on the street, and this simply is not.
I practic karate, i'm yellow belt and i don't like to much this type of Kumite. But, it's just a kumite to making points, not like the classical kumites from jka with full contact. The intuit of this kumite it's just making points and not cause injures on your oponent.

Check out JKA Shotokan Karate
Spot on. It’s become a game of silly tag. It’s no longer a fighting sport anymore!

22:10 i'm definetly trying this at my dojo. What a combination!
2:59 he kicks him in the butt with no power and that's 2 points? time to re-think the rules of this sport.
:D No, above the butt, that side kick was rapid and powerful! That was a fine decision! Egypt is too strong & quick!

足の先が名札の位置に当たっているので充分に有効な中段蹴りと判断できます。

I can't stand to watch that. Bunch of aggressive guys. Has nothing to do with the art of karate unfortunately
