5:50 this was my question. Thank you for answering 💙. And emily I see that there are a lot of people around you who can help you so I'm happy for you. This first baby will of course have your worries but I'm sure you can overcome it. I hope your days pass in peace, happiness and health.
Hi Emily, first of all let me say I’m so happy for you! Such an exciting journey to be on. I just had my second baby 8 months ago and had a natural birth with epidural for both bubba’s. I went into birth thinking I would just go with the flow, see how I felt throughout, and not be against the use of any meds. Every body is obviously different, but what I wish I knew before birth is that, besides pain relief, an epidural can be very helpful to let your body (mostly your pelvis) relax and hence help your body delivery your baby. Personally for me it was what I needed with both my babies to let my muscles relax and help me progress. Figured I would share, as like I said, I wish I knew this before going into the birthing process. Wishing you all the best!
🎉Congratulations Emily!💐 I just found about your pregnancy. ☺I am so happy for you & Kyle. I am sending you both my prayers and many blessings for your growing family.✨💕
Emily, your comment about waiting, waiting, waiting to have kids is something I can relate to, too. Cudos to you for checking yourself re why you're waiting. I think that's a message we've been fed by society, media and celebrity tech CEOs (who have the billions of dollars to explore other fertility avenues later in life), and it's not actually logical. I've waited until 38! And now I feel like I'm about to miss my chance at motherhood and building a loving family life. (COVID lockdowns didn't help with dating, that's for sure...yet lockdown had me spending more time at home and enjoying 'homemaking', which has led to this desire for a family and balance. I think I'm only just feeling my true desires for the first time because I've actually had downtime to hear me, not the corporate message. Eeeek!). I was part of the lean-in generation who was fed the message a corporate career is SUCCESS. Omg it's so NOT; not for me, at least. And I've had a lot of success...and it feels so, so hollow. I really regret waiting and stuffing away those desires for a husband and family. Any younger women out there, don't wait so long. Or freeze your eggs early!
You can still have kids, you know. I'm going to be 38 this year and I'm having my first child. I think if anything, most people don't wait long enough because they feel pressure to have kids at an early age. I think more women need to wait until their thirties to have kids so that they can make sure they are making a rational decision that works for them, as opposed to doing what people tell them. I CHOSE to wait this long for my own personal reasons and I don't regret it. It took me a while to find the right partner and decide if I actually wanted children. I wish you all the best.
I’m so glad to hear you are feeling better! I had a really similar experience; as soon as my second trimester began, I felt a lot better and less nauseous! I had an epidural with my baby, and I am so glad I did! I feel like the epidural relaxed me, which then made me dilate faster. Also, I was able to truly enjoy my labor and delivery experience because I didn’t have to deal with severe pain. I’m very thankful that I went with the epidural, but definitely go with your gut on this. 💛
Loved it! I'm really looking forward to pregnancy later, but I have the same feelings as you had in the past I guess. I'm waiting and maybe first want to travel the world for a few years and then grow a happy baby. This video was lovely, you always talk like you're talking to your best friend and I liked to watch it with a cup of tea. Enjoy your pregnancy and you look amazing girl! xoxo from The Netherlands
You were made to be a mummy!! Unrelated you should start your own model/talent agency (when you have time of course)I feel you are so nurturing and would treat your models with respect!xxx
My mom had stretch marks but I didn’t get them with any of my babies. I kept my weight gain slow and ate lots of healthy, fresh foods and protein. If you end up choosing no epidural, you could check out Lamaze. The breathing exercises are super helpful. As soon as the baby comes out, you just feel amazing. Hard to explain, but super cool. The female body is so powerful. Babies are wonderful and you will be a great mama! ❤️
this is amazing, congratulations..... so happy for you and husband..gosh i have watched you for years as a model and now...wow...you guys are going to be great parents...stay safe and healthy...all the best to you and the baby
My emotions in the beginning of my second trimester were so strong, I once started crying on the street because I saw an ambulance and felt sad because someone was suffering.
I recommend the book “ever since I had my baby.” I suffered a severe tear and pop at my birth after an induction, failed epidural, and forceps delivery. I don’t think average doctors educate women about the risks of vaginal delivery (sever tears estimated in 3-10 out of 100 women, rises to 12/100 if instruments are used). Pelvic organ prolapse is seen in about half of women who have delivered vaginally. I’m not anti-vaginal delivery, just very PRO education abojt the risks of BOTH modes- c section vs vaginal vs assisted vaginal. ALSO! The way the women in your family give birth is HIGHLY predictive of how you will give birth because the number of hormones you have that initiate labor is very genertically determined. So get to know your moms birth story and help that prepare you for how the birth can go!
1x epidural then 1x natural. First birth kicked off at midnight and I was just too tired to effectively manage the pain so opted for epidural. Right decision as I could nap through dilation. But really struggled at the end with pushing effectively. Second time was an induction without epidural. I felt much more in touch with what was happening. Key is to go with the flow! Listen to your body and rule nothing out.
So one thing my mom told me to help prevent stretch marks is whatever you do, do not scratch your belly! It will most likely itch as it continues to get bigger, but do everything in your power not to scratch it. Rub some lotion on it instead to help soothe the itch. It’s what I did during my pregnancy and I don’t have visible stretch marks. I hope that helps 😊
When I was in labor, I didn’t want to get an epidural. I wanted to try to have my baby without it, but it came to a point where it was just too painful. When I decided to get the epidural I was almost too late to get it! Also, if you do decide to breastfeed, I highly recommend using Lansinoh cream for the soreness. It’s safe for the baby and it helped me a lot!
Thank you for sharing this really made my day and I pray for a healthy baby girl for you and Kyle!! ❤️🙏🏻 I was going to say I am very sensitive person too our personality is so much alike! I wish I thought of that question to ask you lol 😂 great video made my day!! 💕💕
Great video Emily and congratulations!! I think a healthy mom and healthy baby is a successful delivery however that has to happen. I’ve had 3 vaginal births. Two with epidural and one without. The one without was harder and yet I agree with a previous commenter, I was way more bonded to my baby that I delivered without epidural. That child was also my youngest so I wasn’t expecting that to happen. It was shocking and noticeably different. Also, would you be willing to share what is on your lips and cheeks in this video? It’s beautiful!
I'm curious about being pregnant and exercising. Do you still exercise, did you have to change your workout routine somehow, some special pregnancy exercises or stuff like that?
I’ve had two natural births. In the Netherlands where I’m from, theres not too many epidurals. My second delivery was so quick there was no time anyway haha. You’ll be fine regardless! I have two girls as well and girls are the best ;)
So good really interesting thank you for sharing. You have us all reading about pregnancy so we can understand your journey better. A little nugget I learned is between 0 and 7 years a baby lives in a different cerebral state and is constantly recording everything around her like a DVR so those years are so important for the rest of her life not everyone knows this but they feel others anxiety anger fear and it's not easy not to exhibit those feelings especially when you are exhausted I wish I knew this growing up but I know your super enlightened tuned in so I know you are gonna do great and you have amazing support so grateful for that. Every expecting Mom has a different amout of pain during labour. Some less and some more. I would ask the doctor what kind of pain medications one can get before the epidural is allowed to be used( for me it was after 16 hours of extreme pain) because it took so long to be dialated 4cm. Ask what you can get before the epidural. ( morphium shot or iboprophen? ) Cosleeping after birth and the first time gets Mama more sleep. I really don’t understand why you would get the vaccine, when you know you are pregnant. The vaccine is still so new (not even approved by the usual requirements as other vaccines AND based on a complete new vaccine method..) and we don’t really know the side effects yet, so I don’t understand why you are willing to run the risk, but your choice - still think you are gonna be a great mom.
why would she run the risk of not getting the vaccine? that’s a terrible idea. so you would have rather her have a chance to get covid instead and get really sick, instead of getting the vaccine which protects you against the virus and even if you do get exposed, the vaccine lessens the side effects or gives you no symptoms at all...um ok lmao.
COVID has a 99.7% survival rate. The CDC states that the experimental shots (aka “pre-trial vaccine”) does not give immunity from COVID or the symptoms. However, the experimental shot has been showing signs of serious reproductive harm. To each their own, but I highly recommend against getting the second shot before doing serious research, especially if pregnant. Sharing this with love from one pregnant woman to another.
You are right. The vaccine is not FDA Approved yet. It only got "Emergency Use Authorization" to get into arms quicker. It is considered experimental still and legally cannot be made mandatory because of this. SHE made a choice of her own free will that will effect her child's development. The companies even refuse to show us the ingredient list...why? The manufacturers got the Government to protect them from getting sued...why? Isn't it supposed to be safe? Hmmm, we will learn from the guinea pigs who took it soon enough.
Epidural is bad for a baby. I have learned lots of information about it. And I believe that the natural process is the best thing. And we shouldn’t let or fears have a negative impact on children.
Hello from France, yes in France we are all about natural cold pressed oils woman in my family use almond oil, jojoba oil and also Shea butter

Natural. I think this is the way we(the humanity) were coming to this world and only because of new technology we are breaking the natural process.
I’m so lazy at taking care of body skin too but I swear as soon as I’m pregnant I’ll be slathering myself in oils and moisturiser 😂😅

Hi Emily Thanks for share
My doctor gave me the book "what to expect when you're expecting", I loved it. All the way through my pregnancy I was reading it, and reaching for it all the time! It was giving me understanding of what's going on and peace of mind! For example, last weeks I was experiencing weird sensation down there. Like sudden painful lightning strikes for 2 seconds. I would be terrified, but! I remember there was a note about it in the book, so I knew that it happens at some pregnancies and it's ok!
And then I bought myself "what to expect the first year", it has a very helpful information about newborns and all. I totally recommend it!
Hi is your sister helping you with your business?

To each their own, but I highly recommend against getting the second shot before doing serious research, especially if pregnant. Sharing this with love from one pregnant woman to another.
For such a high survival rate I completely agree with your statement!
I think she’s having a girl~~~~ citrus craving.
Epidural is bad for a baby. I have learned lots of information about it. And I believe that the natural process is the best thing. And we shouldn’t let or fears have a negative impact on children.
