5:00 Pretty awkward assassination attempt when your gun stops working. And they are freaking the hell out around 5:57 with that dialogue, lmao. The raw fear when you are in the middle of a shootout and one of your gun jams, the other misses completely for the rust and the third one kills the enemy with the last shot in the chamber is something that I haven't seen anywhere else than Far Cry 2
There was a survival element and overall strategic planning to the combat that is just missing in the new Far Crys. This game makes a simple shootout with ordinary weapons and a vehicle way more intense than the superhuman abilities and over-the-top weapons and wingsuit that the new Far Cry gives you. The over the top style in Far Cry 3,4 and 5 is fun in the short while but becomes very boring as you realize how overpowered you are. Far Cry 2 has an intensity and authenticity to it's gameplay that is way more appealing than the newer Far Crys, which is why this is the old Far Cry game I revisit the most.
I love This game so much the combat and open world just feel so much more real and genuine than some of the other Far cry games. The physics and explosions and the way the world reacts to certain things just feels more real and more fun. The amount of chaos and randomness And the way it flows just makes it feel like it’s a Genuinely kind of scary survival game.
Totally, Far Cry 2 really had that survival and think on your feet tactical awareness to firefights and ambushes. Every skirmish required some sort of strategic planning and improvisation that made it way more intense. When you combine that with the amazing physics, explosions, fire and terrain, it's just a much more enjoyable experience. The new Far Cry games make you so overpowered with crazy arsenal and crazy skill abilities that is fun for the short term but it's really boring long term because you are such an unstoppable force. Far Cry 2 is pure survival and skill.
Yeah best far cry for me. This game underrated because the world in game is boring, missions alway same, no side quest, enemy spawn, so less animals, can not shoting when driving, broke knive takedown. But still best far cry ever.
For an early PS3 game it's pretty amazing in retrospect. Not even the new Far Cry games have that much detail in fire effects, destruction in the environment with shacks blowing to pieces and barrels bouncing everywhere.
@@slygunslinger Yeah, til this day, it still amazes me how this game is able to run on the 7th gen consoles, even with everything that's going on in the game.
This game is from a time when game companies were implementing every new cool physics technologies that were made into their games. In short its from a time when games were just made to do what games should do and entertain you.
Yep. It's because the graphical transition from the PS2 generation to the PS3 was groundbreaking and it got so many game developers excited to wow player with technological innovations.
I really miss this style of ubisoft game. The focus was on dynamic open world interactions, not copy and pasted b.s that bloats a good 15 hour game into a boring 60 hour slog. This game really is something special.
Eh, to be fair, this game was sorta like that. The game tries to draw itself out by having you do mundane tasks and forcing you to drive 90% of the time and driving can get tedious eventually in this game. Ubisoft also made the guard posts respawn, forcing you to pause your progress just so you can clear it out over and over, thus making the game even longer than it really has to be. But I can excuse these flaws because like you said, everything in the game is dynamic and relies on the open world instead of scripted events, thus making the experience way more fun.
@@xbobjob69x64 thats totally true, you can start to see some of their modern design philosophy with the assassination and convoy side quests which are copy and paste. But theres just enough plates spinning in the open world design and intersecting game systems that makes it consistantly engaging, PLUS the game only slightly overstays its welcome. I wanna say its a pretty comfy 20 hour experience to do it all
@@Punkwithspunk Yes, this game is thankfully shorter than the most modern Ubisoft games. I never really cared about the games overstaying their welcome, as long as they have a formula that’s addictive and hold you throughout the entire game. But I definitely prefer a shorter experience.
Whenever i watch your content on an older game i havent played in years, i get such a nostalgia hit i gotta go back and play it. Your recent gta 4 content got me to dust off the xbox 360 lmao
Hell yeah man, that's the goal. There are so many old games that are not only just nostalgic because of it's age, but because the gameplay is still rich and playable to this day.
Imagine if this game had gore. FC2 is my favorite FC game. You’re waging a one man guerrilla warfare against your enemies. Nothing like ambushing your enemies and picking off the stragglers
Where ramming is norm. When enemy never give up on chasing you the first two miles especially if they pursuing you on vehicle, they will go chase you the entire map
Sorry for the long comment but I need help. I recently bought a pre-owned PS4, all was fine until this month where I played Warzone and it froze I tried to turn the ps4 off but I was stuck at "preparing to turn off the ps4" screen for several hours which forced me to unplug the power cord. Ever since then I'm facing multiple problems but the biggest one is that all games I install work for couple of minutes and then crash due to data being corrupted. Tried reinstalling the games, rebuilding the database and initializing the PS4 nothing helped so far. I found out that it might be my HDD dying. Should I try to fix it by replacing the HDD or I should try to have my ps4 replaced since it's still under warranty?
I have no clue man, but I do remember whenever I played Modern Warfare, my ps4 would freeze and crash and I had to unplug the console like you did. You might have to restore your hard drive. I blame activision for making a game obnoxiously large and demanding on hard drives to brick the entire thing. But i'm no expert. Try calling Sony support number when they are available.
Very true but then I wouldn't be able to play this game in it's glory on my huge ass TV and surround sound speakers while sitting on my comfy chair with an ice cold brewskie, lmao.
I would if the game didn't suck major cock bro, haha. I love Rambo to death, but that game is hot garbage. Hopefully a decent Rambo game will come out in the future.
@@slygunslinger looked at gameplay & I don’t blame you 😂 maybe Rambo Cosplay in another game like RDR? Make Arthur look like Rambo as close as possible
It doesn’t matter what far cry game it is. If you shoot someone that’s driving a car they always slither out like a slippery fish. They never die in place. Why?
because this is ubisoft brain logic ahahah. look like old gta games. gta iv and gta v die in place and car still moving look great. how the fuck ubisoft dont know this!!!
