This hit really close to home, I just moved out of my family home and across the country this week. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go call my mom.
The things I end up on at 4:30 in the morning...I'm not even Irish. I'm freaking American. Just...how did I get here? How?
im very confused. A competition where families bid to get their loved ones they havnt seen for years back home. Must suck if you lose?
I never been home since 3 years ago..i live in another country without anyone of my family...survive everything by my own...now i do miss them especially my mom

ok so 1: if the boyfriend was good to her why did she never see her family. 2: three years is a long time to not tell your own mother where you are 3: it just doesn't quite add up...
i think they had a problem back then. but it's going well now. but not seeing her own family for three years kind of makes her.. a bitch.

It's emigration, many many Irish have emigrated, particularly in economic recessions. That's why there are so many Irish in the US, Australia, UK etc.
I have not seen my mother so far for 7 years and counting. Sometimes finances are not available.

Yep it's sucks but there really isn't anything I can do about it. I can save and something comes up and on her end as well. So if you see your parent on a regular basis be thankful and enjoy it
I live in Australia (I'm American, not Irish) and couldn't afford to visit home for 4 years.
