Evidently you haven't explored modern music enough to know how varied and diverse it is. There are plenty of breaths of fresh air in today's music, you just need to find it, hiding in the shadows of the large overly manufactured and mass produced shit that is pop. Having said that, there is still some decent music within pop itself, but a majority of pop is just trash in my eyes. I'm not having a go or looking for an argument with anyone, but simply adding my related opinion to you thread which is of a similar nature.
Tom Odell is such an amazing singer, he's been one of my favourite singers since the 23rd November 2012, since I first discovered him ;) Haha, would love to see him live.
Never heard of this guy before but my girlfriend has tickets to see him tonight so I thought I'd check him out before we go. This is a great tune, looking forward to the gig!
I remember watching this as a kid years ago made me fall in love with vocal based music. Tom is unbelievable. Will always remember watching this on television.
Seeing him at the somerset house summer series and i cannot wait! i am so excited, he is so good live and the effort he puts into his performances is amazing! xx
You need to get a grip. He's not the only promising "new age music" artist who shows hope or the current music scene. Try opening your eyes and looking at what else there is before putting such a stupid comment on the Internet.
i havent heard someone so amazing in live.... since queen.... most od lives ive seen just kinda gave me a shoulder nod but something about this guy... totally my style of music just my opinion~ ofcourse there are other amazing lives, but i just had this weird amazing vibes with his lives

Yeah, I know what you mean, but he said that the idea of his songs is that they are heart felt, and it's easier with sad songs, so his music is foucussing on bad times, but in interviews you can tell he's a happy friendly guy :)
He's got a great voice & there's no denying the passion in that voice & his lyrics, but does he EVER sing anything happy?? He's really young to be so depressing all the time. Even tracks that have a more upbeat tempo are about how he's been dumped, or not got over someone else, or being treated bad. It just comes across like he's whinging all the time about 'poor me'! Know I'm going to get shot down in flames for this, but just feel like shaking him & telling him to cheer the hell up!
It was because all the songs on the album are pretty much the same, and about the same thing, with very similar chord progressions. I can still think of much worse artists, I think they picked on him to try and show they still have teeth.
He is a breath of fresh air for today's music. He is a real artist. I love him.♥

Usually artists sound worse life, but he's different. He sounds even better! I'm impressed. Great song btw. Genius.
