  • It’s hard sometimes to play old games find old systems that work and then deal with the absolutely ridiculous high prices of retro video games today. I like the idea of modern systems allowing you to play retro video games and sometimes you can play them in a much better way than they were presented in the past. Here are some games that I’m playing right now that I think you’ll enjoy checking out on your modern systems.

Love this video. And your emphasis lately on retro. I’ll be 50 years old soon. I’ve been gaming my whole life, started with my Dad when I was small. Lately I’ve been feeling super nostalgic for gaming in my past and your video hits the mark. I’m looking forward to the next one.

Yeah playing the old stuff anyway you can just feels fun again. That’s what it’s all about.

Bought a PS one with FF7, sold it when FF7 came to PC.
The weird moving graphics makes me sick
So I preferred N64 and PC

That was a thing on PS1 early 3D. It’s still there with Twisted Metal PS1/PS5.

i love retro games, but i can't stand seeing low polygon in high res. it looks aweful. in this video you clearly had lots of enhancements (lighting, AA, higher models, new textures), but in general i don't like remaster either. i always prefer the original vision by the original artist and visionaries who built these games within the time constraints and limitations. i'm playing now Sim City on the SNES and Final Fantasy 2 (patched to english) on the NES and i love both games. I've heard so much bad things about FF2 saying it's grindfest and boring and too complicated but as i'm playing i love the nuances, the new ideas and how they did it. Playing those games helps my own creativity and seeing outside the box when solving problems. I think this is the same thing for film makers: they always love some obscure movies that no one else saw or liked, but that's because they saw things that were unique, non contemporary or original in them and that give them creativity. Also, if you've never played DOOM 1993, you owe yourself to play it in VGA (320x240) ;-) because it makes it way scarier and more mysterious. I love when i see something in the distance and i don't know what it is or type of monsters. it way more exciting than playing the pixel art in 4K... that being said, whatever floats anyone's boat! it's great to get more people to appreciate great games in the way that they prefer or can. I'll add as a final remark that some pixel art games (8 bits, 16 bits) looks really good on modern displays, and for some reason, i feel like some Genesis games look almost better on a 4K OLED TV like Contra Hard Corps or Castlevania or Final Fight. It's the color palette and how they used it that makes it pop on a modern TV. That would be my exception 😀

I’m not that fussy!! If I can play these games in a modern way I just appreciate them. I have old systems but sometimes it’s nice to just turn on an XBS/PS5 and play a game from the past.

I don't remember Ducktales being a Saturday morning cartoon. It featured as part of Disney Afternoons on weekdays.

Maybe reruns? I do remember watching it on Saturdays.
