This is really cool, loved the OG video also. My only question was and is, if you are cropping it like that for the main video, what is the point of shooting vertically, other than to make a vertical reel edit? Cheers team! Cool channel, cool videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the kind words! We really appreciate it! The idea around shooting vertically and cropping later is essentially to lower the quality of the footage, to make it appear more like Super 8. Super 8 is obviously pretty grainy and low quality, so lowering the overall quality with the digital setup makes it less sharp etc. there’s no reason you couldn’t just shoot in normal orientation though. Just personal preference. ☺️
Yep, fixed shutter speed at 1/50th. That’s the reason for the ND filter. Check out Benj’s video for the full breakdown of the idea. We’ve linked it in the description ☺️
Thank you! First base LUT was our own (one we created a little while ago) and the second one is one of Eric Floberg’s 606 LUTs. His LUT did most of the heavy lifting colour wise ☺️
Epic! Love to see it :)
Awesome idea Benj! Thank you for sharing!
Bloody great idea as an add on. I would certainly find this far more appealing than all the iphone "content creation"
It’s a fun vibe hey!
So good guys, great work!
Thanks mate!

@@trentandjessie Rad, thanks for the reply! looking forward to more cool videos. if you two are ever on the Sunshine Coast, reach out.
Thank you! That would be fun 😊
Do you use a fixed shutter speed (1/50?) in all lighting conditions? Is this the reason for the ND-filter?
