This show is a horror masterpiece. It manages to look normal and unnerving at the same time at first, and when the song begins it becomes random, but in a way that it becomes even more unnerving. Then it decides the correct time to become plain horrifying. This is the work of a genius.

Info (news, data) becomes less and less important over time as people focus more on social/expression and entertainment. News basically has to adapt itself to become an aspect of social/expression to maintain relevance. Hence why news is so insanely partisan.
Yet even social/expression is becoming less relevant because it's only a means towards entertainment. That's why it begins fading out in the second half after info is long gone. Today it's a hollow expression that is focused on projecting an avatar of the self rather than connecting in a real way with others. Whatever partisan identities trickle down from the news are fleeting; there's a new story every two days and everyone picks a side like their life depends on it. Then the story passes and no one cares anymore. People only got involved in the debate so they wouldn't have to go a day without feeling the spotlight of the collective unconsciousness on them for at least a moment
At least... that's how people *in* the system act. The red guy is the people who see through the facade. They're so tired and bored of all this phoniness. It's existential procrastination at best and existential masturbation at worst.
There are a lot of people who think they're the red guy but they're not even close to being the red guy. In fact, any time they encounter a red guy they reflexively hate him. They can sense somehow that he is capable of pulling the rug out from under the feet of their delusions and they resent him for how vulnerable that makes them feel. They're used to wearing mantras, talking points, and common knowledge like armor so they feel exposed when a red guy points out how transparent any of these things might be. They will silence the red guy at all costs. They'll support his censorship, they'll attack his character, and they'll warn others not to even listen to what he has to say.

I feel like the Red Guys voice reflects how adults watch kids cartoons.
His voice slowly gets less monotonous in episode 5 like when he asks "what can we do?" for the second time and when he says "wait, what?" In episode 6 he sounds like a normal guy.

Episode 6 suggests to me that he's the kind of guy who is trying to have passion for what he loves based on the "I am a file and you put documents in me" piece, yet reality keeps getting in the way, hence the monotone voice. He genuinely wants to make a children's show, but the big wigs at the top (Roy) keep getting in the way.

Has anyone noticed that in this scene, each room describes the state of the characters in this world? The yellow guy really learns something new until he eventually finds nothing (Episode 6 of season 1). A duck who knows that the cycle repeats, just got used to it and is quite pleased with himself. @@zapdos33 The media theory is a theory where red guy wanted to create an educational kids show that got picked up by a big company (Roy) that us ruining it for profit. I can't explain it very well, I'd recommend you check out the film theorist's videos about it. Basically how it explains the scene mentioned here is that red guy wanted this to be educational and wanted the globe to come alive, instead it was the computer that wasted their time with getting lost while browsing.

Jojo Bear actually they are the red guy’s roommates and the objects are the imaginary friends. The yellow guy is the son of the red guy’s sponsor on making this dream he always wanted happen I think. And when he left in ep 5 or 4, things started getting even more crazy because the yellow guy’s dad had ownership of the show. It’s based around the yellow guy because it’s the 19th June, Father’s Day, and he’s stuck in a cycle. I can’t really explain it fully but just search up Dhmis theory.

They're doing a 6 episode series. Full length stuff, different story. there is a trailer out there and the show is expected by the end of the year. I have read that filming is completed on it.
