I actually want to play this on 50% speed after this video. Its surprising how many old games become playable with a more reasonable speed. Even some of the famously bad (as too fast to control) sonic rip off platformers are okay on half speed
I remember seeing the adverts for this on the SAM Coupe. That looks frustrating. The Phantom was a great film. Apparently it's how Germany knew that the Nazis were lying about V2 rockets destroying America, because the Phantom comics kept coming.
The Phantom was purple in the first comic (even though he lives in the jungle) because of printing error.
What a shame. I was convinced that you could choose a character!

I bought the Sam Coupe version.. It was my first lesson at learning buyers remorse... 10 quid to 12 year old me, may as well have been buying a mortgage...

I know the answer is probably "ported from another system", but why would you use flick screen on a system with hardware accelerated screen scrolling? At least they bothered to use the hardware sprites(the C64 suffers a form of attribute clash with 4 colours instead of 2 if you don't) I guess.
I know that's not the point, but it was what was going through my head during the entire thing.
It was bizarrely common, even in games not ported - I've still not idea why. Potentially a game idea built one way, then change midway and they couldn't be arsed to swap it out for something more appropriate? It was probably farted out in 6 weeks, let's be honest.
