Since 1934, the Masters Tournament has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments. Amidst blooming azaleas, towering pines and flowering dogwoods, the first full week of April ushers in a stage unique to golf and to sport. Over four days and 72 holes, the smallest field in major championship golf competes for a chance to capture the Green Jacket and a place in Masters history.

My daughter used to sit with me when she was six years old to watch Masters Sunday. Twenty-three years later, at her wedding, we danced the Father-Daughter dance to the Masters' theme music. Great memory.

I don’t think a musical theme captures the essence of a sporting event any better than this one. This theme music just perfectly captures the entire event.
The only one that I think comes close is “one shining moment” for the NCAA basketball tournament. Both have one thing in common, Jim Nance on the call.

Im 49. My dad loved golf and the Masters. He took me to my first two. I could listen to this all day. Makes me think of him. Man I miss him. Died in 2000, and would give anything to play one more round of golf with him

I was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia. I recently moved to Beaufort, South Carolina and every time I hear this song and I’m not home it makes me feel emotional.

I don't know if such a category exists, but if any sport could win a Grammy for best 'theme music' Golf and The Masters of Augusta National should already have a Lifetime Achievement award for this song. It's the most perfect piece of music a golfer's ears will ever hear.
It's not officially Springtime until Jim Nantz tells us so. I look forward to this tournament every year.
Jim has the greatest job in sports coverage in my opinion. Two months ago was calling a Superbowl, up until recently covered the Final Four and NCAA championship, then spends a week at Augusta.
Actually, Spring began when Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and Tom Watson hit their ceremonial tee shots on Thursday at the Masters.
Home I was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia. The masters theme just brings me home every single time I hear it. It doesn’t matter if it’s during the masters or if I just look it up on UA-cam, it all always takes me home.
This would be the perfect instrumental for a viewing or funeral for a golf fan.
My uncle loved golf & watching the Master. Rest in peace Ray. Love you.

What a magical place! My first attendance was in '64 with my dad, I was 13. We sat at 18 all day and watched Arnold Palmer win his final Green Jacket and final major! Great memories over the next 30 years and it gets better every year!

I have always loved this music and wondered who composed it. May you be playing with angels now, Dave Loggins. 🎵 thank you for the gift of your music. One day I hope to see this storied golf course. Something that came out of my former marriage: my longtime love and appreciation of the sport of golf. It started with watching The Masters years ago.😌

There are 3 Sporting Events everyone must attend - The Indianapolis 500, The Olympic Games and The Masters. The Masters is without doubt the hardest to see.
You wanna know something crazy, if you're a PGA Member Professional you are granted complimentary access to the Masters. I'm actually going to Ferris State majoring in PGA Golf Management and upon graduation I'll become a PGA Member professional. One of our graduates who lives in Greensboro, GA now just went for the first time this past year.
@buffaloben15golf88 From what I've been told Augusta National does not give free access to PGA professionals because this is not a PGA sanctioned tournament. PGA professionals get free passes to all PGA tournaments including the U.S. Open and PGA Championship but not the Masters.

Without a doubt, this is the most well maintained golf course in the world
I remember reading somewhere that they have three, 18-man crews that work six holes exclusively, i.e. holes 1 thru 6, 7 thru 12 and then 13 thru 18. They are the only holes they maintain. That's why the place is always so immaculate and pristine.
It was announced today 02/14/2024 that Verne Lundquist will call his final Masters this spring and will retire.
Thanks for all those great calls over the years from Tigers insane Chip on 16 in 05 and Jack's birdie on 17 in 86.

Been following the Masters for almost 40 years! From a junior watching it at cabel-tv late hours att our home club before everyone had cable at home. Cheering for Langer in 85, in despair for Seve in 86 and 87 and so on…. There have never been two Masters alike, says something about the course!

This is one of a few songs in which the lyrics are never used because the instrumental far outshines any lyric. I played this course. I was very fortunate. It is as you would imagine. Every shot you take you have seen 100 times before on TV. Every step is a moment. You see the elevation changes and are aghast, never realizing from TV how much it changes and its severity. You step on the course, and it is so quiet that even the traffic on the surrounding highway disappears. Magnolia and Washington's roads are a journey into another realm. The new Berckmans Road is a masterpiece, and Augusta spills into the surrounding neighborhoods. I will go back humbled, and be grateful.
