Dear Mr. Rollins, I just want to give you a heartfelt thank you. This year has been very difficult for me. Struggling with depression, having my first health scare (which needless to say was terribly stressful and upsetting), and gaining a lot of weight. Your videos always make me smile and forget about my problems, even if it’s just for 15 minutes. Keep up the awesome work. I’m rooting hard for you. May God bless you and your family. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving and a happy holiday season.

Mr. Rollins, I remember a restaurant in Oklahoma City that was located on Meridian Boulevard named Applewoods, and they were known for their apple fritters. The business closed years ago, but some folks were nice enough to break down the recipe so folks could make them at home. And I wouldn't mind hanging out with Whiskey.
Kent and Shannon, we appreciate you both so much. Thank you for the great recipes and the ideas. May God truly bless you this holiday season. I am praying for the procedure you were having on Friday for safe travels and a safe procedure and that God's peace is over you both and your family. Happy Thanksgiving!

In my family apple fritters meant apples peeled and cored, cut into rings, dipped in a batter of flour, eggs milk and sugar, then deep fried in lard. Drain then dip in sugar or sugar and cinnamon mixed. We ate them Sunday nights for dinner with cold milk to drink. The best.
I wanna give my blessing to you Mr. Rollins. Wow you're amazing with all this! It would be awesome to go horseback riding camping and waking up to all this food! Dude tell stories by the camp fire you are awesome!

When I began baking for Krispy Kreme, I was excited to learn we make apple fritters... but was massively disappointed when I learned/tasted them. I was expecting the kind you get at a restaurant. We use the dough used for the standard donuts, which is completely wrong for fritters. They also use diced apples out of a can. I'll be honest... it's horrible. BUT NOW I CAN MAKE THIS! Just made these tonight and might I say they were fabulous. Crispy and tender, cinnamon and apple. My kids and husband chose to have them plain. Just crispy doughnuts with apple pie filling. My apple peeler will peel an apple without breaking the peel any day of the week. My mother made fritters. They were like two pieces of roll dough that swelled up as she fried them. They were hollow on the inside and crispy on the outside. She would eat they with syrup. There are two recipes that I wish I had got from her - her recipient for Hoe cakes and fritters. Her hoe cake was a thick version of bannock bread. She cooked both in a cast iron frying pan. The hoe cake was like a denser pancake but had about the same coloring. I figure they were both made with Bisquick because she made everything with Bisquick. She fried the fritters in oil, probably Crisco. She fried them to a golden brown. Mother was a South Georgia girl.
several neo-modern bakeries around here make apple fritters but they don't hold a candle to those made in the old neighborhood German bakeries years ago So miss them these days. I look forward to trying YOUR RECIPE, Kent Thank you!
