- Just a short video on how I make channel and mouthpiece on bukkehorns (goat horns). Well, as You can see I'm not used to filming of my work process. It was spontaneous decision so nothing is scripted or rehearsed - just a few minutes out of my workshop.
As English is not my native language I kept messing some terms and struggled to find the right words, but I think that everything is understandable.

How do you tweak the tone to be right, and how do you know where to drill fingerholes for scales?😊
Chromatic tuner helps greatly. The problem with horns is that inside of everyone is pretty different, as it goes with natural materials, so theres no precise measurements. I usually just see what is most comfortable position for fingers on horn itself, so its nice to play. Upper hole as close as I can safely put to that "solid" part at the end of the horn.

I have some questions! How big did you make the hole in the end? And how big did you make the conical hole? How did you do with the tuner to get the right tone?

Do You mean the end size of the mouthpiece? I just use chromatic tuner to know when I "hit" precise notes. Some people can do it by ear, but unfortunately my musical hearing is not that good.
I have a really curved horn, it goes like a spiral. Is it possible to still make a good instrument out of it?
depends on how far the hollowed part goes into the spiral.
@ do you have a trick to measure it? Cause it's harder than on a "straight" horn.
@@svan4748 All I can think of is to bend a wire rod like he uses in the video, only to match the curve of your horn. The leading end just bend over on itself (to keep from catching on anything inside too badly), and see how far it goes. There's no real "internal horn measuring tool", unless you happen to know a radiologist who would xray the thing for you.

This is a shot in the dark with a two year old viseo, but if you happen to cut too far along into the horn? Is there any way of salvaging it? Attaching a mouthpiece perhaps?
Yes, that would work. I have made plenty of bukkehorns with wooden mouthpiece, just because the horn itself is too short itself. Just make sure that You use some kind of hardwood. This will end in much better resonance for sound.

Where can one purchase horns of this type and size? The horns we find in America are half this size at largest
Honestly, I have no idea. There is no place to just get them. You must seek for farmers who have goats. Here in Europe this is also a problem to get proper material ( and thats one of the reasons why these instruments are so expensive). Another problem is that usually farmers leave only one male goat to whole herd and baby males are slaughtered on birth. And it takes time for him to grow pair of full sized horns.
You said a "triangular" hole but i think the word you were looking for is "conical" or cone shaped. Hope that is helpful

I have two goat horns and 2 years ago i f*cked up one of them while trying to make these things, it doesn't make any sound and i couldn't understand why. Now, I want to try again with the second one, what should I do for craft a working bukkehorn?
Can you use a rams horn or any horn for this?
This technique should work on any horn (goat, cattle I have even made few antilope blowing horns) as long as the size is sufficient. Problem I have had with rams horns is that they are too curved and then I need to cut off too much material to make my bore and it ends up too small. Remember that You need that nice inner channel, the horn shouldn't flare out right after the mouthpiece. Also I find, that the bigger the horn, then its more easy to get sound out of it. But, it definitely work on rams horn. By the way - You can also try to drill on side to reach that hollow part.
@ i didn't think about that with the curves. I have a bulls horn i might try instead of taking a chance ruining my rams horn. It's just not as nice looking lol. Would love to find a goats horn like yours.
@@MegaChevy65 well, to find goat horns is hardest part in my opinion. You still can try Your rams, I just told what problems I have encountered previously with them. Natural materials comes in all kinds of forms and sizes. But cattle horn is much easy to get and for first go I definitely would try that.

Sebab pada waktu TANDA diberi, yaitu pada waktu penghulu malaikat berseru dan SANGKAKALA ALLAH Berbunyi, maka TUHAN sendiri akan turun dari SORGA dan mereka yang mati dalam Kristus akan lebih dahulu bangkit;
B. ZAKHARIA 9:14.(tb).
TUHAN akan menampakkan diri kepada mereka, dan anak panah-Nya akan melayang keluar seperti kilat. Dan Tuhan ALLAH akan MENIUP SANGKAKALA dan akan berjalan maju dalam angin badai dari selatan.
MAKNA arti setiap TIUPAN SHOFAR:
Bunyi SANGKAKALA bicara ttg 'TANDA'.
Ada 4 SUARA/ jenis buka sangkakala:
1.THEKIAH
2.SHEVARIM
3.THEKRUAH
4.THEKIAH GDOLAH atau
TEK GDOLAH
1.THEKIAH
suara yg mendeklarasikan
Keinginan Tuhan utk menegakkan kebenaranNya di suatu batas wilayah atau area tertentu.
2. SHEVARIM.
utk mendeklarasikan keinginan Tuhan utk menerobos batas2 & menghancurkan setiap perlawanan yg tdk sesuai dgn kehendak Tuhan.
3.THERUAH
-sebuah alarm atau suara yg mengejutkan,digunakan utk
Mengumumkan secara tajam kedatangan BAPA YHWH di tempat itu.
4.THEK GDOLAH
-mendeklarasikan kepenuhan & keseluruhan perpanjangan dari kemuliaan Tuhan & kekuasaannya.
Suatu kemenangan terjadi.
