I get the “receiving a call during a meeting” - I had a mock trial meeting and my college tutor called me... next thing you know the teacher’s asking me to fabricate witness answers on the spot without having looked at the statement (I did it last year so she picked on me).

Something I learned at uni and work. If you are waiting for a gp type call, let people know at the start of the session and apologise that you couldn't get a set time and may need to nip out to take the call. A Preemptive apology is less awkward

I had a 3-hour long marketing lecture this morning, and right before the end of this torture, the teacher said "since everyone can't go outside because it is raining and we are in lockdown, we're going to do 30 more minutes of this".

Flow cytometry!!!! Most of my PhD was flow cytometry. It’s a really cool technique. We have a flow cytometry lab at work, and when I’m waiting for an incubation, or just bored, I go in there to see what people are doing (when we didn’t have to social distance that is)
Got to help with some flow cytometry when I was doing work experience at a lab, it was very cool and very confusing setting up the gates haha

Hi Holly! I don't know if you will see this, but I have a recommendation for you. Since you spend so many hours in front of your laptop, pls get a laptop stand. It will improve your overall posture so much. If you suffer from neck/back pains, this will help you and even if you don't, it will prevent that. I got one a couple of months ago, and it has changed the game for me 😊
