DIY Airbrush Spraybooth

  • Here is a short video of how we made a cheap airbrush spray booth at home using an IKEA IVAR shelf, some wood, hot glue and a radial fan. Keep in mind that this is by no accounts a "professional" set up, just a way to blow the dust out when applying paint. 🎨

It is cheap. Whoever thinks this is expensive is living in poverty or doesn’t have a job lol

@@blackbat908that’s quite a privileged perspective, things aren’t always quite so black and white.
unfortunately in this day and age, most people only earn enough money to just barely scrape by, not even enough to pay off debts let alone spend a few hundred on something that is much less important than ensuring they eat dinner. in my state, you need a $16/h 40 hour job in order to be able to afford a one bedroom apartment and just manage to pay off all of your bills for the year, but that only works if you refrain from making any purchases for your own enjoyment. for that, if you want to be able to enjoy your money or even save some of it, you’ll need at least $20-$30/h full time. unless you’re fortunate to have the connections to get into a high paying job straight out of school, most entrance level jobs (trade jobs, not things like retail and food service those are even worse) barely even pay enough to cover basic human needs like costs of housing, utilities, food, and clothing. I have multiple people in my life who were forced to move back in with their parents because they simply couldn’t afford a one person apartment while working two entry level jobs and trying to advance their education. one took a gap year on their degree in hopes that it would allow them to catch up a bit financially, and if anything they were worse off because they no longer had the steady stream of scholarships and financial aid to cushion them.
people love to harp on about how “lazy” people are for not having the money they need to buy what they desire, but then refuse to acknowledge that the economical landscape has changed so drastically that it’s no longer really about that. you can be the most motivated in your class and if employers just happen to not like you, there go your opportunities. my younger brother is incredibly driven and has been applying to jobs consistently since he turned 16, hasn’t gotten interviewed once and he’s 18 now.

Very cool! But don’t spray oil based paints through that! The spark in your blower could cause the vapor to explode! Great for water based mediums!

late but I believe that's a snail shell or squirrel cage fan. The electrical parts are separated from the wind chamber, it'll still depend what the internal components are made of, but it's not the typical inline fan.
That being said, inline fans are usually ok because the concentration of fumes won't be enough, unless it's a spray can or a spray gun(not airbrush), then inlines can be dangerous.
