I really miss the more light-hearted feel of Jak 1, ngl. The sequels were awesome games in their own right, but Jak 1 just had a special charm to it that I only get from those classic, colourful collectathon platformers of old. I'll take jumping around collecting shiny doodads over massacring people in a grimy, dystopian future anyday, lol.
And the games darker tone was actually done right compared to Shadow the hedgehog as much as I do like that game but jak 2 and 3 while dark does a have a dose of comedic cartoony feel to it thanks to Dexter and jak also even tho he's was much angry even for reasons he's still the same character from the first game which is extremely surprising and also I welcome the change because 3d collectathon platformers were dying out thanks to donkey Kong 64 and GTA 3 was most popular back then so we can't really fault them for that and if you look at the interviews you can tell for the fact that they feel like it'll be pretty boring to do the same thing over and over again so they want to try something new which can be understandable will you make a new IP I love crash bandicoot very but just like some games I really don't them to do the same thing over and over again but that's just my two cents
@@raphaelbrown6314 agreed Jak 2 is basically shadow the hedgehog but actually good. The story is good, the mission structure is not as bad as shadow’s, the gunplay is good and the dialogue is actually well written and humorous.

This is hands down one of my favourite 3D platform games of all time. Edit: If this game gets released on the PlayStation 5 when that comes out, count me in for a third time. I've beaten this game 100% twice on PS3 and PS4.
It was one of the few games I beat when I was a kid. To explain, I sucked ROYALLY at games as a kid. Call of Duty 3 I only beat over a couple years, Ratchet Gladiator I enjoyed beating the crap out of, and this game still took me a while cause I sucked at fighting the Dark Eco Plant. Other than that, not really much else. Shows how far I've come if I am able to pull off crazy shit in this franchise, such as, to my eternal astonishment, beat the tank level in Jak 2 in one go without even trying (I wasn't trying to beat it, just see how far I get. Never expected to get past it. My sister had an aneurysm when that happened), and do the fisherman challenge in one go (which is a little bit more shocking to me, since I have done that less than the tank, and mostly cause my reactions aren't the best, though aren't the worst). I even got enough power cells in less than an hour to power the heat shield for Fire Canyon. In fact, I got enough power cells to go through Lava Tube by the time I arrived at Volcanic Crater. I laughed!

Me too. The games feel so much easier compared to 10 years ago. Probably cause Im a lot more experienced with gaming. I remember I couldn't beat Gol's precursor robot for a year after first trying it.
This sounds a lot like Crash Cove, and also where this plays inside Green Sage's Hut has the piranha plant from the water levels in Cortex Strikes Back
They should make a game back in the original time when Jak and Daxter were young, they could even use someone new as the main character. Maybe one of the sages when they were young. But with new graphics and a nice long story-line. But nothing too serious like Jak 2 or 3

First console game I got. I couldn't have asked for a better game to start with. I'll never forget all the memories I had with this game. :)

well i think with the sequel we get to know more of ECO and the secrets of the precursors

I remember when I played jak 2...Its was so difficult yet it was my 3rd game...so now im really good at videogames I even beat jak 2 on hero mode :D

I did go there but Dexter stayed more quiet than Jak.
