I'm 36 and my girlfriend is 21. So, roughly the same age as them when they started dating XD. It's one of those things that just happen. it might happen for you too. Who knows? Although I strongly recommend you date your own age. It's less drama.
This is what true love looks like.. years of getting to know each other, developing, compromising, and most of all, accepting your partner as who they are, not who you wish he/her to be.

SuperLumipallo Years of getting to know each other? That's only happened to me growing up as a child with a single girl. I haven't even really had a female friend since then and I'm almost 30. Guess I'll never know true love if it can't be in the form of a desperate older woman taking a chance (settling for) on a..... suuuuuuuuuuper… late bloomer.... lol..
Adorable story guys! My lady and me met on Facebook and she kept liking my comments so decided to add her. She lived in Scotland and I lived in England, so there waa a ton of distance between us. Over the next few months we got closer, just through chat and Skype. I had mentioned to her I wanted to replay the Resident Evil games from my childhood. When I got off the train in Scotland to meet her for the first time, she presented me with minty copies of RE1 and RE2 she had scoured the internet for. She officially restarted my love of retro gaming!
I moved to Scotland not very long after, and have been here with her for five years now! It sounds so silly but Resident Evil is really sentimental to me now!

Right now I'm dating a girl that I also work in a warehouse with. It's a very fresh, new thing. I'm not her boss though. However, we've been on the same wavelength since day one. She's nerd like me and she's so cool. Gonna have to be careful around the workplace. Thankfully we only bump into each other occasionally at work, since she's got her own workload. Going on our first date this coming saturday.

My wife didn't want to date me. I won her over. I was going to a friends house who had famous spaghetti dinners and invited all the single people over. The friend was trying to hook me up with another woman. I started chatting with the woman that would become my wife and she was into some of the same stuff I was into. I kept asking her out and she finally said yes and I won her over and the rest is history. Still married 14 yrs later.
Bonding with a girl while playing videogames... It's like, one of my greatest hope... haha
i have introduced gaming while dating as a sort of a challenge. I dated this girl and I challenged her on Rocket league (just telling her it's like football with cars) that every time that one of us made a goal the other one had to take a shot - pretty much a drinking game. That was alot of fun. I find that the key to finding a girl that is also into gaming is about being open about your interests and not seeing it as "strange" or anything. Only when being open about what your interested in can you find someone that has that is interested in that too. Or if you can at least tell about why you are passionate about it and like it.
It'd be alot easier for us hardcore gamers if we could just learn to LOVE COCK! AM I RIGHT!

It's the return of LOVE talk with DR. Love, Johny Millenium! Thank goodness for Pikmin, it bridged the non gamer divide and brought my wife of 20+ years into the hobby so we can share some great times. Still remember how she mocked me back in high school for that copy of GamePro I left lying around. Love Kim's appearances on the show!
My wife isnt particularly onto video games, she'd had a master system as a kid (same as me!) but when we first moved in together, I found out that she had previously enjoyed Left 4 Dead on the 360. So I went out and got it and we used to split screen and drink bourbon until it was light outside. I still game all the time, but occasionally I'll convince her to join me on that game. I've been desperately trying to get her into something else, but whenever I see left 4 dead, I'm always reminded of those awesome nights we had together.

My wife and I actually met when we were 3 and 2 years old (we didn't find this out till we were dating for a while LOL). She is a gamer of Nintendo fare (Zelda OOC and Banjo Kazooie). We really got to bond over Final Fantasy 9 and Final Fantasy 10. As well as we were inspired by watching a friends parents play Resident Evil games (he plays, she reads the walk-though). So we played games like that, Silent Hill 2 comes to mind as our first. ^_^

This episode strikes a chord Johnny! I was seeing this girl once. It was a pretty casual thing until she turned out to be the only girl I'd ever met that knew who Samus was. I followed her to Canada and married her. 17 happy years (and a few game loving sprogs) later I can still remember us falling asleep together to the Animal Crossing title music. We still have the first and only AC save file we created. Best Wario's Woods player in the world bar none.

Congratulations on the longevity of your relationship :) My wife and I would place Sega Genesis, SNES and the PS1. on the PS1 she loved playing Crash Team Racing and Skull Monkeys... we still play those games, and now crash team racing on the Switch.

Hey Johnny! I get married in just 6 days (wow) to an amazing girl and she also loves games (she did before we dated too, but plays them much more now.) Honestly, looking back on past relationships I don't know how I dated people who had no interest in it, or couldn't even appreciate my passion for it. We're lucky men to have such supportive partners!

Love the video of you and Kim. My wife and I have been married for 15 years now . She doesn’t love video games but she at least let me play and enjoy the hobby. And she understand it important to me in someway. But she gave me my daughter which has become a huge anime fan and play some 2 player games with me . Like gucamelee 1&2 . So much fun together playing with my daughter. Cheer mate . Your episode of the 40 years gamer got me back into gaming and enjoying how much gaming mean to me . Thank again
You two just seem so perfect together. It's crazy to think in just 6 years Kim has grown to love and appreciate video games etc after not really caring for the idea of them at first. It's really nice to see you both remember these fond memories with us and how you bonded so strongly.
Seeing that Bayonetta sparked Kim's interest is wild. Something really must have clicked that made her change the way she thought about things and even progressed to play games not just together with you but also on her own with the likes of Persona and Dragon Quest. I bet you both are going to have some happy new memories when Bayonetta 3 comes out.
I do hope that Scott Pilgrim gets re-released at some point if the licensing gets sorted out. I've listened to the soundtrack quite a bit and it's so good. Loved seeing this and I hope we can see more in the future.

I met my wife in a chat room in 1997, (dial-up internet) We where 4000 miles apart. Married 22 years now, and video games are a huge part of our life.
My wife wasn't into videogames when I meet her. And then she see saw Persona 3.

Fantastic story Johnny, sharing your life with someone you love and has the same passions is important IMO it helps so much to have someone who can understand and accept you for who you are.
I have seen too many times people trying to hide or simply stopped playing games because their significant other did not approve.
I met my girlfriend at a friends party and I was showing off Contra Shattered soldiers on the PS2 and I hear a girl says "hey it's Contra" so this got my attention lol
We became friends for 2 years before going out and 14 years later, we are still together.
My girl liked video games a lot when we met but it blossomed to a whole new level after we were together. I got to I produce her to my favorite sega classics she had never played before and it was so exciting! Nights Into Dreams and Space channel 5 part 2 won her over big time. We shared all our childhood games we loved.

Gaming is a great way to bring people together. I met my partner recently playing Sea of Thieves. I definitely didn't see it coming but it was a great way for us to bond and we have loads of stories to share from it too. I make video games for a living and I know I do it because of how much joy it brings to people :)
Thats so awesome. Ive seen people play Sea of Thieves a lot on Twitch. I know how popular it is on Xbox. I own a Playstation though so I never got to play it.

My wife is more into mobile games, but she does love Bubble Bobble and Smash, so we'll play those on the NES Classic and Switch at times together. Glad you found your perfect match!

oh man. i got into Scott Pilgrim late in the game and was so upset when i realized i couldn't buy the video game anymore. absolutely love the movie and books though.
my boyfriend and i met in high school (biology) and even though our teacher kinda set us up, we bonded through video games. we were both gamers (him more so) and he helped me finish my first video game (gears of war, we went on to finish 2, 3 and then 4 once it came out. waiting on 5 now. we have matching COG tattoos!!) also, i introduced him to Scott Pilgrim hahah

I met my wife playing World of Warcraft. I live in the Toronto area in Canada, and she is from Michigan. She lived in the Grand Rapids area when we met. Our 2 guilds were trying to run Naxxramas in 2009 and we teamed up. Our guilds merged, we got to know each other, and before I knew it she was offering to come and meet me in person. 10 years later we have a 7 year old son and a 3 year old daughter. We don't play WoW anymore, but we still game together when a game captures our interest. Best raid I ever joined.

You should be able to redownload it if you have paid for it. At least I've been able to do so many times for my PS3 copy. I did miss out on one of the DLCs though and can never get that.

Scott Pilgrim the video game has been removed on the 360 + PS3 storefronts but if you own it (bought it digitally when it was available back in the day) all you have to do is search your download list/history and find it and you can redownload it as many times as you wish on your primary or secondary console - its yours forever!

Man I had one of those experiences with Interstella 5555 too. Night before I moved from New York to Nevada I was drinking and smoking weed with some friends and my gf at the time. Like you said can't explain the feeling but just a sublime experience about life for me, must have watched it 3 times that night.
