Whoa thanks for watching! Check out ALL of the episodes (when theyre released) at this playlist! ua-cam.com/play/PLQvVnhG7o2ySNYiHyFf6mIZ9kq87QVQ3A.html&si=UaH1J-fzMzI4_CrV
I know almost every UA-camr says, "Stay to the end to see something amazing" (which often feels like a gimmick to get more ad views). With your videos, every minute has gold. The last section "Improvised talk over demo" is where the Polyend Tracker really clicked for me from being a note-by-note spreadsheet to an amazing expressive music instrument. Thank you!
Wow! This is the first video I've found which actually tells you how to get a new clean project open before starting talking about other things. Well done! You shall be my go to channel on this product .
Good tutorial. I grabbed a tracker during the fire sale last week. I like it. Picked up a couple of navigation tips in the video that I missed in the manual despite having read it front to back 3 times 😅 will definitely watch the rest of this series.
Definitely worth it at that price point. It's a fun piece of gear with a somewhat decent learning curve. If you're looking to incorporate chromatic sampling so you can make you own sounds, this is your best friend at a $359.
This is a great video. I have just got my Tracker Mini and most things apply. However, I don't seem to have the option to set the project scale and key.
I would like to dito. Thank you for the lesson. I just ordered one on sale as well. I am not sure how well I will do with it. But I am looking forward to learning something new. Thanks again.
About to start watching it now ;) what s great starting for rhe weekend. I still need getting my hands over one but with the price drop it is difficult to resist... I can see it as a beast to sequence external gear, any videos yet sequencing a drum machine and a synth, or a synth able to load different patches at the same time? Someting like the A4, Blofeld, and so on..? Thanks for sharing such quality content!
what a great tutorial. thank you, I was following you using the AKWF pack, and I noticed something strange, when I play 2 or more notes of one of the single cycle wave sounds it sounds distorted, I hear it more on the AWKF_0170 sound, and you do not seem to have that. I used the same cutoff req as you (mostly lower under 40) and it is still somewhat distorted. I also tried the patterns towards the end of the video which have 2 tracks and they all sound distorted Since this move was recorded over a year ago, I assume you used an older firmware version, I'm using 1.8, so maybe this is something related to that ?
First, thank you very much for positng this series. I recently got a Tracker Mini (due to the form factor and on the go ease of use). I'm trying to follow along and am able to navigate through the minor differences. Not sure if you know or not but due the fact there are no pads on the mini, do you know if there is a way while in the instrument parameters pages on the mini to "audition" the sound without having to put a note on the steps and hitting play? I know there may be some differences in the workflow but this seems like the only solution. Mostly speaking to your workflow @4:50. I hope this makes sense.... I can always place a note on the timeline and just press play but I can see that being somewhat annoying to have it be a constant rather than audition as you mention. Could be the short comings of the mini
Ah thank you for your well thought out comment! I dont own a mini so i cant help with that. I don't think id be interested in mini because no pads or dial. For me the point of Tracker is to enter in notes as fast as possible, to match what I am imagining. I don't even know how you choose a note on the mini!
OKAY ..... so I answered my own question but going to leave my original comment in case someone else is looking for this you just use the "center" button or enter button in between the d-pad on the mini to audition
At the end are all the instrument parameter changes you make on the fly saved to the pattern or are you just constantly editing same instrument regardless of pattern? Do the parameters save to the pattern or instrument in other words. Does my question make sense?
In this videos im not recording the changes, the term is called automation. You can record automation i believe, i have more episodes that i have not explored automation in this way yet. I will return to more boot camp on tracker eventually, might be a while.
Thanks for this I’m already up and running with it it’s like MSGT Excel 😊… I’m stuck in one thing thou.. I can’t figure out how to turn one of my 4 tracks to 12 steps and keep the other 3 16 steps?..
How do you stop the Polyend Tracker from dividing large directories into hundreds (2600-2699, 2700-2799, etc)? That is so OBNOXIOUS and I just want to load a directory normally. This is a dealbreaker for me until this is fixed.
Ah right@@RonCavagnaroMakes sense now... How you finding it so far? I haven't had a chance to try it out yet lol... Updated but then Digitakt is taking my free time lol...
@@AeonHorusit's great, the first videos I made I made it freeze but also my deluge freezed because I was doing wild tempo changes! But for this video it did not freeze once! There's a lot of people who are experiencing freeze here and there so if you do, back up and try it out!
@@RonCavagnaro Ah its okay. My security was blocking the download. Just for the record there's about 6mb of samples and in pack 1 that you used there's 100 wav forms? Cheers.
Hello. I have a question. Is it possible to step play each line by scrolling? It would be nice to listen to something that you are working on one line at a time. Thanks
@@RonCavagnaro thank you for your quick response. I don't think that I asked my question right. I can highlight a complete row say #1 track 1 thru 8. Hit preview and hear all of the notes on that one row. Is there a way that I can preview all of row 2 then 3 , 4 etc. By just scrolling down. Without having to manually select everything on track 1-8 . More or less play thru the entire pattern one line at a time. And I am using firmware 1.6. I am sometimes not clear about what I am trying to ask. Thank you
@@Xazertroncharlie for that as far as I know you'd have to select everything for that entire row each time. There's a forum you can request a feature like that would be cool!

These tutorials really change the game for me. Not just in using the Polyend Tracker but how I think about making music. Thank you!
You're a cool guy, Ron. Thanks for this awesome video
I think you're right, five minutes at a time is about all that can soak into my head. Really appreciate the clear & slow progress!
Must be one of the best and most pleasant to watch tutorials. Thank you for that.
Thanks you so much!!!! A musicians guide to the Tracker, the best tutorial set on UA-cam!
This was awesome - just the right pace of info, although I will be watching more than once to catch all of the shortcuts you've shown.
GREAT, logical explanation of this crazy device. Hope you make more. I’m all ears
More to come!
Mine arrived today and love your teaching style. Would love to see more.
Love the depth and detail. Thanks for making these!
Thank you very much for taking the time to make the tutorials.

Whoa thanks!!! I've used tracker software in 1993 so I kind of dug deep into this gear lol I'm hoping to make the next episode soon!!!
Awesome timing considering a lot of people (like me) will probably buy one while they are on sale...
Good choice!
Nows the best time! $359 at Sweetwater..

Great video. Heads up, I just tried to download your All In One single cycle wave forms, but the link appears to be inactive.

Are the single cycles included in default library or need an external download?
